Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

After dobbs, women are no longer free.

He wakes up lying, and he lies all day.

You don’t get rid of your umbrella while it’s still raining.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

“woke” is the new caravan.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

So many bastards, so little time.

How stupid are these people?

To the privileged, equality seems like oppression.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

Fight for a just cause, love your fellow man, live a good life.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

We are learning that “working class” means “white” for way too many people.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

They are not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

So fucking stupid, and still doing a tremendous amount of damage.

Damn right I heard that as a threat.

People are weird.

pure projection. they are up to their necks in astroturf to the point that they can’t help but cast a jaundiced eye at everything around them.

it’s just a case of a precocious little girl who will be one of our leaders in 25 years.

I’d love to get some discussion on the historical perspective on this.

Surely there have been moments in the past where polticians have worked the room. Some blantantly, some just appearing to.

Has there been a point in time where the political opposition has directed so much energy at the “Regular person in the audience” rather than the politician in question?

Perhaps this is just politics as usual, and it’s the usual generation self-absorbtion with the here and now, but to me the attempts to damage regular citizens to score poltical points is more than just scary.

But hey Gateway Pundit has video evidence that Obama bussed in supporters. I’m not linking to it, but Cap’n Ed’s running the video too. It is so fucking pathetic I can’t stop laughing at how stupid these guys are. What happened to Morrissey? He’s a laughingstock now.

So let me get this straight. The President calls a town hall meeting. The daughter of an Obama supporter shows up at this town hall meeting. Obama calls on the girl at the town hall meeting. Girl asks a question that could be given a “pro-Obama” slant. Wingnuts declare the entire town hall meeting rigged.

Sure. Why not? If you don’t believe the President’s birth certificate when you see it with your own eyes, why would it be illogical to conclude that an Obama supporter would attend an Obama Health Care Rally?

Doesn’t everyone know the only people that show up at these rallies are anti-health care?

And that’s the heart of it, here. Malkin, et al have convinced themselves that health care reform isn’t popular. That the mobs surrounding the town halls represent the full extent of public opinion. That Obama’s plan has no support and is being foisted on an unwilling public.

Ergo, a pro-Obama questioner at an Obama town hall meeting MUST be a plant, because only a planted fifth columnist child manchurian candidate would ever think anything good of Obamacare or question the “Death Panels” and the looming socialism and the Obama-Hitler comparisons.

Another example Helen Jones-Kelley and Joe the Plumber
That was a Government official searching the private records of someone who dared question Obama.
No outrage from progressives on that one.
However Bob Beckel did say it was wrong.

Democratic campaigns could not survive without volunteers. GOP campaigns don’t have just regular people doing anything significant. Of course they think that anybody that actually worked on the campaign is a plant. On their side it would be true.

I empathize, and I predicted this. I’m able to tune it out, but then I was able to tune out the horrible Pam ad, too.

Obviously, the problem is that Cole posts about his dog too much. I guess, for the good of everyone, the blog has to go back to being just politics and the occasional Tunch. After all, no-one could think of Tunch as being a pitiable victim.

It’s just a case of a precocious little girl who will be one of our leaders in 25 years.

Dam’ skippy. Julia Hall got interviewed on the local news last night (Malden is just north of Boston, close enough that the ‘subway’ runs through it) and she is totally planning for 2036 already, more power to her.

It’s hard get hateful about a little girl with shining eyes holding up the ticket, with her name on it and everything, that the President signed, right in front of her. Although I am cynical enough to notice that Julia was interviewed in front of “the school where she will soon be a sixth grader”, and not her home. * Sigh *

    I’m at a loss.
I’m trying to find the pic that S,N! posts every once in a while when they cover Malkin’s attempts at real-world activism. It’s right after the Graeme Frost, or the posting of college students’ addresses things blew-up in her face, and she’s just SURROUNDED by cameramen. The look on her face resembling a cornered, meth-addled, shrieking Wolverine is priceless.

    Link, please.

What I can’t believe no one is mentioning is that if Obamacare gets enacted, this child likely would have been aborted, because obviously her intelligence is so low that she would grow up and vote for Obama.

Democrats are signing their own political (and literal, and metaphorical, and ironical) death warrants if they sign up for PeLousy Care!
