Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Of course you can have champagne before noon. That’s why orange juice was invented.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

Consistently wrong since 2002

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

Oh FFS you might as well trust a 6-year-old with a flamethrower.

These are not very smart people, and things got out of hand.

Republicans want to make it harder to vote and easier for them to cheat.

At some point, the ability to learn is a factor of character, not IQ.

Come on, man.

Republican speaker of the house Mike Johnson is the bland and smiling face of evil.

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. keep building.

The “burn-it-down” people are good with that until they become part of the kindling.

You are so fucked. Still, I wish you the best of luck.

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

You come for women, you’re gonna get your ass kicked.

Radicalized white males who support Trump are pitching a tent in the abyss.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

The republican ‘Pastor’ of the House is an odious authoritarian little creep.

Their boy Ron is an empty plastic cup that will never know pudding.

Today in our ongoing national embarrassment…

DeSantis transforming Florida into 1930s Germany with gators and theme parks.

Our messy unity will be our strength.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Charming:

WURZELBACHER: For Pelosi to write about us bein’ un-American and disprespectful — I’ll tell ya what: I respect nobody who lies to me and manipulates me and takes my money and puts my children in debt. They want me to be respectful toward them? Please!…You know, I’m not the most civilized person: Those kind of people, I usually took behind the woodshed and just beat the livin’ tar out of ‘em.

So…Joe the Plumber plans to beat the living tar out of Nancy Pelosi? While her secret service detail watches perhaps? That should be fun. Seriously, could you please stop giving that idiot airtime? He doesn’t need any additional blog coverage.

The excellent thing about Sarah (When Facebookers Attack) Palin is thatthis means she will be running for 2012…shooot…..she has already started..

WURZELBACHER: Let me start off by saying that I don’t advocate the violence…

I don’t think this quite reaches the level of cognitive dissonance of Sarah Palin not quitting but quitting because she wanted to make a statement about media attacks on her family, but certainly the same ballpark, no?

Beating the tar out of San Fran Nan is not violence. It’s a “teachable moment.” As in “I’m gonna teach that &#$^%@ a thing or two with the back of my hand.”

Many Republican voters can relate to this.

It could be a fist fight at the 2012 GOP convention if the Christian God starts talking to some of these folks:

In an interview with World Net Daily, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) was asked whether she would ever run for President — and she replied that she would do it if God calls her to it …

    …
Real “tough guys” don’t have to constantly talk tough or talk about being tough. They just are.

Bingo. In the working-class Bronx neighborhood where I grew up, the rule went “Never pick a fight with a smaller person. If they lose, you’re a bully — if they win, you’re a wimp.” This is also covered in OF MICE AND MEN, which I thought was still taught in junior high.

If Sam Wurzelbacher ever actually “confronted” Nancy Pelosi in person, I suspect she’d give him a hard stare (aka ‘the Granny Glare’) and he’d fall on his arse wailing about emotional trauma and unprovoked Demoncrat aggression. He’d lose a shoving match with Grahm Frost. He’d break out in a painful rash if left alone in the same room with a scary dark-skinned person like Whoopi Goldberg.

On the other hand, put a couple of these pathetic flapmouths together and it’s goodbye, Matthew Shepard. They always run in packs, because they don’t have the brains or the guts to survive on their own. That’s why the fReichtard/Talibangelical/Robber Baron Rethuglican Triangle has done so well among the Heartlanders(tm) — the concept of a hive mind comes naturally to these insects.

What’s with you and Joe’s ‘iron gaze’ business? Got a little man-crush going, do we?
Wurzelbacher lied about his name, position, hell, he even got the question wrong.
And in the same proud tradition, Katy Weber Abram, the woman who made that impression at Specter’s town meeting. She was on Hannity the other night, presented as a timid small town housewife who know’s nothing about politics but was suddenly galvanized by the healthcare socialist threat.
    Surprise!
As noted by Joan Walsh, in Salon, “she’s a leader of the 9/12 group, setting up its networking site on Ning, greeting new members, inviting folks to events at her home and elsewhere – and last night, after her star turn, comparing her cause to that of Martin Luther King Jr.”
