Kick him off the team and revoke his scholarship, if applicable. Just do it and move on.
And a happy good morning to you, Mr. Cole. Thanks for the TunchCams from last night. Gave me a laugh, so it did.

Wow. Didn’t even get through one game (OK, technically the game was over, but…). Of course, no one could have forseen…

The kid who taunted him should get some repercussions, too. Looks like he’s got a glass jaw.

He should be suspended for going after the crowd. He should be suspended for throwing a punch. But that is easy. If you really want to send a message to college players and youngher players, you gotta suspend the taunter. That is exactly why it should be tolerated.

The Tunch cam from last night was teh awesome. I love his meows in the second video. Catz rule.
And Lily lives up to her pretty name. What a dolly.
For Entourage viewers and/or anyone who thinks a young Marky Mark with his shirt off is a good thing, thisis compulsory viewing…. dumb and hot, with bonus Turtle and Drama…
@Va Highlander: There is an intersection in Atlanta – Virginia Avenue and North Highland Avenue. It’s an AWESOME place with nice bars and restaurants. Very cool.
We call it Virginia Highlands, or VaHi!

Blount should be dealt with, of course, but it looks like Hout got an elegant object lesson as to why “Act like you’ve been there before” is a pretty good approach to dealing with victory.
I think Blount should be out for at least a half the season for that. But that linebacker should be out for 1-2 games, too. He started that whole chain of events with his shitty behavior.

Blount ran his mouth to Sports Illustrated about the ass-whopping the Ducks were going to lay on Boise State. Then he comes in and plays horribly – he’s their potential Heisman Trophy candidate and he ends up with -5 yards on the night running?
So yeah, Hout shouldn’t have said anything, but Blount went crazy. He not only punched Hout, in front of BSU’s head coach who had already gotten Hout turned away from doing what he was doing, Blount punched some guy from his own team, and had to be wrestled to the locker room by about five coaches, security personnel and at least one cop.
I don’t care what Hout said – and reports are it was a reference to Blount’s ass whooping remark – there isn’t really anything he could have said that would justify that response.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Hout doesn’t have to deal with some discipline, because Coach Pete doesn’t tolerate this kind of shit, but damn, Blount needs to be out of football.
I also thought Pete was way restrained when ESPN interviewed him after the incident – Pete was right there when the punch was thrown – in how he didn’t go off about it, but talked about the game, deflecting from the punch and trying to put the focus back on the game.

Throw him off the team but do not revoke his scholarship.
He will leave for some place else but IMO he should have the option of staying and getting an education.
Someday we will stop this stupid practice of using colleges as NFL minor leagues. Yes, my delusions are not yet adequately controlled by meds.
I tried to post an uplifting story about good sportsmanship a couple of days ago, but it never went through. I’ll try again.
One of the roots of my logon name is orienteering (the other is origami.) It’s a sport that involves running cross-country while navigating a course using only map and compass. At the international elite level, it’s highly competitive, with the top runners going full-speed through the forest. Suffice it to say that I’m not at that level.
Anyway, at the World Championships Relay in Hungary last week, something happened that should get wider recognition. During the anchor leg, the leader, Martin Johanssen of Sweden, got a stick 10cm into his thigh. Thierry Gueorgiou (France), Anders Norberg (Norway), and Michal Smola (Czech Republic), who were close behind, stop to help. Other runners were out of earshot and unaware of what was going on.
They managed to stop the bleeding. Norberg ran straight to the finish, while Smola got a cellphone from a hiker. He didn’t know a way to contact the organizers, so he called a friend in CR, who called the Czech coach. An ambulance came quickly and got Martin. The three who stopped, any one of whom could have won the race, ran the rest of it together and finished 25th-27th.
There’s a lot of controversy about whether the results should have been voided, but everyone agrees that these guys are champs. A severe injury in the middle of the forest could have been a tragedy. More details here.
(By the way, the USA finished 24th, Canada was 29th.)
@Steeplejack: Then I apologize for re-posting it. I never saw it, or any indication that it was in moderation. I guess all I can say is FYWP.

Seriously. Lagarrette Blount is a punk ass bitch. That was probably the dumbest thing I’ve seen anyone do since glenn Becky tried to light that guy on fire because he thought teh communist/socialists/Marxist/ illegal alien Muslim born in Kenya was going to [insert your favorite winger theory here because I’m petty sure Becky hit damn near all of them in that segment]
I love the Ducks but that shit don’t fly in the NCAA – especially if you are on an athletic scholarship.

If you want to know all there is to know about sportsmanship in America, go to any kind of game with very young participants, and watch the parents.

@Va Highlander: Are you from Atlanta?? Just asking because we have a very cool area of Atlanta called Virginia Highlands.

@J.: I actually feel bad for Levi. While he seems to be the most sane of the group up there, I really feel he is being taken total advantage of.

@Michael D.:
Actually, I’m from Virginia proper, from an area locally known as the “Alleghany Highlands”, roughly Alleghany, Bath, and Highland Co’s.
Didn’t know there was a Virginia Highlands in Atlanta. That’s sort of unexpected.

Oregon put on one of the most disgusting displays of offensive football that I have ever seen.
Matched only by the offensive displays I witnessed from N.C. State and South Carolina about a half hour earlier.

@Va Highlander:
It’s the area where Virgina Avenue and Highland Avenue intersect, ergo “Virginia Highland.”
Don’t get me started on Five Points and Little Five Points. Or Peachtree everything.
