Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Let there be snark.

It’s time for the GOP to dust off that post-2012 autopsy, completely ignore it, and light the party on fire again.

A lot of Dems talk about what the media tells them to talk about. Not helpful.

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. let’s win this.

Wow, I can’t imagine what it was like to comment in morse code.

White supremacy is terrorism.

No one could have predicted…

We still have time to mess this up!

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

Red lights blinking on democracy’s dashboard

Let us savor the impending downfall of lawless scoundrels who richly deserve the trouble barreling their way.

Prediction: the GOP will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

Fuck the extremist election deniers. What’s money for if not for keeping them out of office?

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

Anyone who bans teaching American history has no right to shape America’s future.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

Usually wrong but never in doubt

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

“woke” is the new caravan.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

American History and Black History Cannot Be Separated

You guys did such a good job with Sarahgeddon that I’d like to know why you think Karl Rove’s twitter got suspended.

Bonus non-funk 70s music footage. I don’t know why but I love this song.

Rove got behind on his toxic twatic twit tweets twitter tax?

Which is a special surcharge levied by mysterious totalitarian social engineering overlords after the percentage of tweets consisting of pure garbage exceeds a critical threshold, explained last week by Beck. Or maybe it is part of the twitter terms of use, in which case, FREEDOM OF CONTRACT!

And Rove finally paid up? TPM blog says it is up again.

I have been lurking for well over a year now (since those damned primaries) and had to register my preference on this one. You are a formidable bunch and I would love to become a regular around here! Wow, that’s totally one of those aural wallpaper songs! I don’t remember ever not knowing it, but I had no clue who sang it. If I had to guess, I’d have said 3 Dog Night, or something. This is off topic, but I have been thinking about one part of the purported Conservative Bible Wiki (which I think must be an elaborate hoax). The principle of ‘Accept the Logic of Hell’ sticks in my mind. Some one needs to think up a meaning for that so it can placed in the Lexicon.

Maybe that is cheating, but what the heck, we are all comunofascIslamutotalitarians here.

The healthcare debate suggests this definition:
Accept the Logic of Hell: Conservative status quo bias.

I’m a born and bred Hoosier from southwestern Indiana, and yet *I* love that song.

Then again, I’m an admitted ABBA addict and think that Rufus w/Chaka Khan’s Tell Me Something Good is a classic.

Though I have sworn off the adolescent crush I had for Olivia Newton John back in the late 70’s-early 80’s.

    @hamletta:

It’s not a one liner, but these lyrics from ABBA’s On & On & On are somewhat appropriate even today.

I was at a party and this fella said to me
Something bad is happening, Im sure you do agree
People care for nothing, no respect for human rights
Evil times are coming, we are in for darker nights
I said, who are you to talk about impending doom?
He got kinda wary as he looked around the room
He said, Im a minister, a big shot in the state
I said, I just cant believe it, boy I think its great
Brother can you tell me what is right and what is wrong?
He said, keep on rocking baby, til the night is gone

Please understand that your browsers all have local file caches, so if you’re no explicitly trying to pull a uri that is in the file cache, the cached version will be used. Given that all external scripts are referenced by URI, and that edit functionality would be enabled by a script you need to force a cache refresh. CTRL+F5 tends to do this in most browsers. If not, go to your options and clear your cache.
