This post is in: Assholes, Good News For Conservatives

FacebookTweetEmail

On the one hand, this is beyond stupid in the sense that a teabagger has no chance of winning in the land of herbal tea. On the other, Fiorina is a shitty candidate anyway:

A California Republican aiming to unseat Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) next year has gotten a boost from conservative Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC).

DeMint announced last night his Senate Conservatives Fund was endorsing state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore over former Hewlett Packard chief Carly Fiorina. The group supports only “rock solid” conservatives, organizers told supporters on a conference call last night as election results came in.

DeVore “will work with me to shake things up,” DeMint said, and “vote the right way …stand up in our conference meetings and say, ‘Folks this is wrong let’s turn this thing around.'”

I hope DeVore busts out the industrial strength anti-immigrant hate. That always goes over well in California.

I’m guessing this actually is good news for conservatives. DeVore has a microscopic chance of winning the seat, but Fiorina isn’t much higher.

In other words, if you’re running the show for the GOP and you’ve got a bunch of wingnuts screaming for blood, then throwing them a bone in CA is good strategy. It’ll take some of the heat off of Crist and it doesn’t actually cost you anything.

Even better news from California – Carrie Prejean dumped her suit ‘coz of a XXX whackoff tape.

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/11/4/800577/-Anti-Gay-Crusader-Carrie-Prejean-Suit-Scuttled-by-Sex-Tape

Carrie Prejean demanded more than a million dollars during her settlement negotiations with Miss California USA Pageant officials — that is, until the lawyer for the Pageant showed Carrie an XXX home video of her handiwork.
    …
The video the lawyer showed Carrie is extremely graphic and has never been released publicly. We know that, because TMZ obtained the video months ago but decided not to post it because it was so racy. Let’s just say, Carrie has a promising solo career.

The group supports only “rock solid” conservatives

If I lived in CA, I’m not sure I’d trust those groups that grade conservatives. Until he got caught on a live mic, CA Assemblyman Mike Duvall was given

a 100 percent score from the Capitol Resource Institute, which describes its mission as to “educate, advocate, protect, and defend family-friendly policies in the California state legislature”.

How long before DeVore gets caught with a wide stance or boffing a lobbyist?

Seriously. I think a prerequisite of Republican candidacy these days is a demonstrated propensity for fucking up, and fucking up hugely. Running the US into the ground was immensely lucrative for a handful of con artists and theives while they were getting away with doing it, so the idea is to sell us on letting them do it over and over again and rake in all the cash that goes flying off the dumptruck when it ploughs into the retaining wall at 400 mph.

Carly Fiorina is case of social promotion, and another example of the fatal flaw of universal suffrage. She ran HP from July, 1999 to January, 2005, dropping the stock price from ~$70/share to ~$20/share. At one point it fell to $12/share.

    Check out this stock chart.

Hewlett Packard has yet to fully recover from her time at the helm. And for this, politicians like John McCain, and the California Republican Party, seek her out. This is because she is not physically deformed, says the right words, and has boobs.

Our system currently is about counting heads, not sticking to Values and Principles, and has little concern for the long-term health of the State. We know that women vote for women from Sarah Palin’s example.

    These are silly games.

Socrates teaches us that in the perfect state, the best philosophers and the bravest warriors should be king. This is in contrast with this failed female business executive who improves the self-esteem of Oprah’s audience.

DeVore needs to stick by his Principles, and time will cure the rest.

California Republicans are crazier than anywhere in the country. I predicted a DeVore victory in the primary months ago. DeMint’s support and Cornyn canceling all financial support in contested primaries seals it.

Fiorina wasn’t going to win anyway. Dems in the state were licking their chops at the prospect of going against her.

The Crist-Rubio race has much bigger implications.

    …

After noting that Palin will be in Chicago later this month to appear on “Oprah”, Kirk writes that “the Chicago media will focus on one key issue: Does Gov[ernor] Palin oppose Congressman Mark Kirk’s bid to take the Obama Senate seat for the Republicans?”

    …

Kirk goes on to write that he is hoping for something “quick and decisive” from Palin about the race, perhaps to the effect of: “Voters in Illinois have a key opportunity to take Barack Obama’s Senate seat. Congressman Kirk is the lead candidate to do that.”
