Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

Petty moves from a petty man.

This blog will pay for itself.

When I was faster i was always behind.

Republicans do not pay their debts.

The real work of an opposition party is to oppose.

Lick the third rail, it tastes like chocolate!

You cannot shame the shameless.

The current Supreme Court is a dangerous, rogue court.

The snowflake in chief appeared visibly frustrated when questioned by a reporter about egg prices.

Dumb motherfuckers cannot understand a consequence that most 4 year olds have fully sorted out.

The rest of the comments were smacking Boebert like she was a piñata.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

Disappointing to see gov. newsom with his finger to the wind.

The Supreme Court cannot be allowed to become the ultimate, unaccountable arbiter of everything.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

“Loving your country does not mean lying about its history.”

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

With all due respect and assumptions of good faith, please fuck off into the sun.

American history and black history cannot be separated.

The republican ‘Pastor’ of the House is an odious authoritarian little creep.

Republicans don’t want a speaker to lead them; they want a hostage.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

There is no compromise when it comes to body autonomy. You either have it or you do not.

Not to pile on Politico, which I don’t hate as much as a lot of other people do, but it’s worth noting that John’s last two posts were about how one of Politico’s star junior political reporters spends half his day tracking down Breitbart rumors while the other takes dictation from Dick Cheney.

Nothing against Ben Smith or Jon Martin, who seem like nice enough guys. But, again, it’s hard to see how this bodes well for our political system.

I’m sure they’ll both be Pulitzer Prize winners soon. And then the apocalypse shan’t be far behind.

I think Ben’s a hack. He’s one of those “some people say” type of journos.

    And he crushes on pols….

You’re not trying hard enough. ;)

I learned to hate Politico by (trying) to read the comments. Politico’s readers are ugly ugly souls.

…and now you know why people nurse grudges about Politico.

Jon Martin was a former spokesperson for the republican House caucus when Hastert was speaker.

Politico is financed by a right-wing family who once owned the defunct Washington Star and later Riggs bank who laundered Pinochet’s blood money.

    No really. I’m serious.

Indeed. I believe the term is “gossip-monger”.

Balloon Juice beat Drudge by I think three days with the Climate-Gate issue. The Politico should monitor Balloon Juice instead of Drudge if it wants to be smart.

I do not like them. About 9 mon ago, the headliners were on Charlie Rose really full of themselves and talking about how they were going to “move the story.”

I know, I am hopeless. I grew up with Huntley, Brinkley and Cronkite. Politico is probably making smart business moves, but yuck.

I can just imagine a meeting at Politico about the underwear bomber.

Real journalist: You could look at a multitude of reasons for this security breach. The plight of young Muslim kids, failures at the TSA, the massive bureaucracy of our security agencies.

Editor: Well I’m looking for the dickensian aspect of the story.

Jon Martin: Well I’ll just call Cheney and take his statement.

Editor: Sounds good Jon. I smell a Pulitzer.

Colbert just called out EE for calling Souter a “goat-fucking child molester” and saying Obama’s Nobel win was an affirmative action hire, among other things. Wow.

There is this horrible trend online you had POLITICO as a political news source, there was also REAL CLEAR POLITICS, as genuine political news sources in 2008 and then they became obsessed with page views. When supposably neutral sites are recommending that you stay away that tells me that all is not well. ( funny last year in the heat of the campaign Nate warned people off RCL and recommended Politics Home and Memorandum) The irony. With few exceptions most of the blogasphere is concerned about pageviwes not the truth
