Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

You come for women, you’re gonna get your ass kicked.

“In the future, this lab will be a museum. do not touch it.”

Republicans: slavery is when you own me. freedom is when I own you.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

Disagreements are healthy; personal attacks are not.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

One way or another, he’s a liar.

If rights aren’t universal, they are privilege, not rights.

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

How any woman could possibly vote for this smug smarmy piece of misogynistic crap is beyond understanding.

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

The National Guard is not Batman.

Weird. Rome has an American Pope and America has a Russian President.

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

The rest of the comments were smacking Boebert like she was a piñata.

“The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.”

The line between political reporting and fan fiction continues to blur.

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

They don’t have outfits that big. nor codpieces that small.

Stamping your little feets and demanding that they see how important you are? Not working anymore.

Upon further reflection I think the best places for tonight are thirsty bear and House of shields. Any opinions?

I wad thinking 8 if that works for people.

This is from an iPhone using Dragon.

I will be wearing a pink shirt and a black leather blazer.

Let’s go with Thirsty Bear.

DougJ, as a longtime SFer, I recommend THIRSTY BEAR. Excellent tapas, wonderful brew. Gotta try the fish cheeks!

Toronado better. Or La Trappe. Or Lucky 13.

Alas, I’m in Austin, so I can’t stalk you.

*actually, I do like the Bear’s food.

Actually, I was thinking Joe’s Place down the street would be alot better. It’s a lot closer to my house, so that I don’t have to drive 3000 miles to meet you. Be there at 8? Okthanxbai!

How are you going to know each other? Are you going to go into the bar and ask where the BJ group is? That might have unintended consequences in SF.

Again, this is why we need BJ t-shirts. I’m going to be in Chicago later next month, and would like to meet some of the fellow Juicers there, but an identifier would aid in the experience.

    (shameless idea-whoring, I know)

ETA: what gbear said – here’s the solution for the future.

ETA 2: “Are you going to go into the bar and ask where the BJ group is?” That’s probably not a good idea, especially in S.F.

@ImJohnGalt: Its SoMa in SF – I think torn fishnets and nipple rings are de rigeur business casual.

    @goblue72:
Perhaps, but I’m thinking it must have been *way* back in the closet in Rochester.

Edit: And I use “in the closet” in the literal sense. The mind is a funny thing.

House of Shields, hands down, if all we want is to drink. If we may need food, too, then Thirsty Bear is a fine choice – I’ve been there many times. The food and beer are both good.

I am tempted to go home and get a pink shirt and black leather blazer, too, as that sounds like a Balloon Juice uniform if ever I saw one, but I will stick with my black dress and black/ivory paisley jacket.

I probably won’t make it till after 9, so you guys better not all pass out after one beer.

I will be wearing a red velvet cat/bear hat with pompoms.

@Colette: Wait, I thought the BJ uniform was double wet suits and dildos? Or naked with mops? Did I miss the memo?

  24. 24.

    Colette

    January 14, 2010 at 8:38 pm

@arguingwithsignposts: Too cold for naked (or nipple ring display), and the double wetsuits are hard to walk in. Uh, not that I would know. I suggest fishnets – they’re appropriate for everyone and every occasion.

Non-judgmentally speaking, wouldn’t that depend on what your idea of a “good idea” is?
