Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Meanwhile over at truth Social, the former president is busy confessing to crimes.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

Putin dreamed of ending NATO, and now it’s Finnish-ed.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

Republicans in disarray!

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

If you are still in the GOP, you are an extremist.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

Just because you believe it, that doesn’t make it true.

Speaking of republicans, is there a way for a political party to declare intellectual bankruptcy?

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

Balloon Juice has never been a refuge for the linguistically delicate.

When someone says they “love freedom”, rest assured they don’t mean yours.

You don’t get to peddle hatred on saturday and offer condolences on sunday.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

This blog will pay for itself.

The worst democrat is better than the best republican.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

I’m pretty sure there’s only one Jack Smith.

You can’t attract Republican voters. You can only out organize them.

You cannot shame the shameless.

rich, arrogant assholes who equate luck with genius

On Chargers related info: As a Bills fan, I always liked Doug Flutie, but to see him campaign for Brown in MA makes me not so much anymore.

OT: John McCain calls from 1973 to defend Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin’s popularity continues very strongly to this day. And the hysterical attacks from the liberal left are ample indication of the threat that she poses to the liberal left and especially the feminist, radical-left movement in this country.”

Here is my Hummer Heaven blog, but it is inoperable because I am now printing my own photos. And only 8.5 by eleven prints and I haven’t gotten around to updating my pay pal account as such.

But on my flickr account, I have many more hummer photos to choose from on my photostream, for a total price of 14 bucks for 8.5 by 11 prints. And anyone from BJ, I would send the print to you, and then you could send payment if you liked it.

I would need to have a mailing address though, and I think my email address is active on my flickr profile page. If not, let me know, if you decide to buy one.

Probably OT (not sure how open open is here)- but I just posted this in the apocalyptic glenzillia thread, and figured the chances of anyone finding it there were roughly the same as…. I don’t know, something very unlikely happening. (Not feeling all that clever today.)

But, I just wanted to mention where it might actually be seen:

    @John Cole:

Pain is getting worse and I had to stop taking percs because I loathe how they make me feel.

You need to be careful about that- pain isn’t the only issue, there’s also the associated inflammation and involvement of other muscles due to the pain, especially in an area so central to movement and such.

Disclosure: I’m not a doctor, but I did once have a rib crack badly the sternum. I didn’t take pain pills cause of the effects, and within a week, I had shooting pains all along that side of my body and lost the strength in my tricep to even lift a 16 oz. can of peas. It took a full year, with lots of painful phisical therapy, before I even regained 50% of my strength in that arm.

    So, you know- caution.

Dood, this is America, get your Super Bowl history right or we’ll have to banish you to Canadian football. Johnny Unitas was injured that season and didn’t play in that game. Earl Morrall was the QB for the Colts.

Actually, Unitas did play in that game. He came in after (former Muskegon Big Red) Earl Morrall went 6 for 17 with 3 picks.

    Unitas was 11/24, 110 yds, 0 TDS, 1 Int.

Your host will be pulling for the Chargers because my mother hates the Jetrs because she was a Colts fan and has never forgiven Joe Namath.

While I, known to regale my kids with stories about Teh Greatest Upset In Super Bowl History, both pulled for the Jets today, and am basking in the pleasant afterglow of their tremenjous win over the Chargers.

And it’s Earl Morrall, and maybe Don Shula, whom your mother should not have forgiven, not Namath.

And somewhat OT, but: being an old fart, I’m still not convinced that Peyton is better than Johnny U. (But then again, no one has ever confused me with Parcells or Belichick, vis-a-vis football knowledge.)
