I never dreamed I would see John starting a PR thread.
The early eps in the seasons are always too bewildering for me – so many designers!
I’m glad they’re back in NY, tho.

Max
Yeah @JohnCole! You fucking rock.
I like the models choosing the designers twist.
6.
gbear
I saw ‘Project Runway Open Thread’ and was wondering what charity I was supposed to send money to now. I am so out of the loop.
7.
Max
Burn Notice is also on right now. No spoilers. I’m recording.
I LOVE Michael Weston. He is hawt.
ETA – Tim Gunn essentially just told a designer that her model’s chuche was going to be showing.
8.
WaterGirl
I couldn’t bring myself to read anything political at all yesterday, and not much today, so I probably missed the latest on John’s shoulder. Is the pain any better? What day is the surgery?
Watching the IT Crowd, season III. Just finished the episode with “the Internet” in a box. hilarious.
19.
Max
I like Jay’s. He’s an interesting one.
Lauren Hutton is holding up well.
20.
Xecky Gilchrist
@Max: Indeed. I’ve got high hopes for this season – may have to hang onto the satellite TV after all.
21.
Max
Ok, I’m pulling for Amy. She’s from Oakland. I am currently living there.
Better than pulling for the Raiders or the A’s.
22.
Xecky Gilchrist
WTF? They kept Ping. Maybe I was right before.
They’re being rougher on Pamela than I would be. Not the most flattering dress, but not bottom-two material.
…bwaaaahh??? BS Auf!
23.
Max
@Xecky Gilchrist: They are just keeping Ping around for a story line.
Pamela was a bore in a giant turqouise necklace, but Jesus should have gone over her.
Team Challenge next week will be good. Teams are always a train wreck.
24.
Xecky Gilchrist
Teams are always a train wreck – just like in school. I’m a crappy team player and don’t usually like classes that put people in teams. (Though my line of work is software; I know fuck-all about fashion and like PR because it’s fun to see talented people put on the spot and come up with cool stuff. Plus I learn a lot, like what a peplum is.)
25.
Max
For those NY’ers who can’t afford Chelsea Clinton’s spin class for Haiti. Maybe you want to check out Amy Fisher stripping for Haiti.
I’m with you. I am glad to know this that this is actually an open thread. I realize this causes instant revocation of my gay card, but I honestly could give two shits about Project Runway. No offense to anyone here, it just has never appealed to me.

Burn Notice was okay. Not the best of epi’s, but next week looks sexy.
I am now going to watch Bones, which is one of the best shows on tv. Good night!
PROGRAMMING NOTE:
Tomorrow night is the Haiti benefit concert at 8pm eastern. It’s going to be on all the channels.
Musical performances will be:
Madonna, Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and Sting; Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow; and Beyoncé, Coldplay, and a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z and Rihanna.
Non-music:
George Clooney, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper reporting from Haiti, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Clint Eastwood, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jon Stewart, Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, Samuel L. Jackson and Bill Clinton.
One of my best customers was reading Going Rogue as i entered his office the other day. He is a surprisingly good guy (I always tell him to his consternation that he’s a big ol’ soshalist when it comes to his personal relationships, as he is very generous and kind to people he knows – I mean, this is a guy that underwrote a documentary on the Tuskegee Airmen, for God’s sake, so he’s not all bad for an older Southern white guy), but what a robotlike Hitlerian conservative loyalty he has when it comes to politics. “Liberal” is a dirty word, etc.
Anyway, long story short, he was very psyched when someone got him the book for his birthday, and I came by two days later to work on a little server issue that he was having, and I asked him (with very low expectations) about how he was enjoying his new book, and he said, “Yeah I got about halfway through it but I had to put it down, I just don’t think that she is being very honest about some of it. You know what, I wonder if she even really wrote that book at all!”
Stifled laughter was as professional a response as I could muster.
The benefit sounds wonderful. I don’t watch TV anymore, but I’ll watch that. What are they going to do with the money? Haiti appears to be past the point of no return.
Am I the only one getting a strong 2012 vibe? In the We Are All Mayans Now context. Also, too.

@FlipYrWhig: Hey, yeah….well I’m just grateful that I saw him again and he hadn’t setup a Palinite altar or some kind of other cargo cult practice. Where I’m from, to this day you can STILL run across people who have “Go Sarah!” scrawled cross their back windshield in white shoe polish. And then there’re the ones who have the McCain|Palin ’08 bumper sticker with the McCain side neatly removed. Anyway, I know that’s old news, but around here it’s still fairly commonplace. Life in the big city.
@robertdsc: YES! Cole, what’s a girl gotta do to get a picture of Tunchie’s magnificent visage glaring back at her from her web browser? P.S. robertdsc, I know you are not a girl. I meant me.
@WaterGirl: I think it’s Tuesday, but don’t bet money on it.

@Jules: I agree with you – I think team shows are train wrecks, but I love watching train wrecks. Just not being in ’em. : )

@Max: I’m watching Burn Notice.
Xecky Gilchrist
Who’s for the auf this time? I’m not very good at calling ’em, but I’m going to say Jesus.
Max
@John Cole: No spoilers. I’m watching that after PR.
My fav character is Sam Axe. I want a Sam.
@Xecky Gilchrist – Either him or the bang girl. (I say that as a girl with similar bangs)
ETA – Ping is a wack job!
General Winfield Stuck
@John Cole: Well, at least she showed up for this one.:-)
I want my own “we’re all gonna die” thread. puhleasssse! The doom clock is ticking.
Max
Just said on Runway… “Maybe it’s supposed to be an assflap”
Must see TV right there.
Xecky Gilchrist
@Max: Yup, that’s a sound bite that should live forever.
I’ve changed my mind – Ping for the auf, her and her assflap.
Max
Ping is totally going home tonight. Holy shit!
Xecky Gilchrist
I’m impressed with what the designers are pulling off with the sacks (mostly). After the big yawn season 6, this is a very welcome challenge.

John Stewart just ripped into Keith Olbermann with a Special Comment of his own. Funny, but I still think the Affleck-as-Olbermann on SNL was funnier.

Jason Bylinowski
@Max: Wow, one of the links on that page also mentioned a sex tape. Time to start up uTorrent and break out the Jiffy Pop, srsly.
OT, I’m hoping that when LOST starts back up John Cole will give me special consideration. John, did you ever make it past season 3?

He’s not a fan of runway, but he obliges us. What with the American gov’t going straight to Somalia, I think he’ll give us a thread or two for LOST.

Good times…
I really, really liked the top three tonight. It was an interesting challenge and oy-vey Ping’s dress….

I usually miss the earlier episodes, and always seem to catch the later episodes. Project Runway Canada isn’t bad either.
