“Lost” reviews. Mine’s here, but it’s mostly notable for its links to two of the best.

Nada, as in nada damn thing.

I’m tired of Lost. I don’t understand what it is. I have the same problem with emo.
GReynoldsCT00
Limbaugh is still a misogynist pig… read his recent comments with disgust

I don’t get Lost either. Got yanked out of bed early this morning to go to the emergency room with a down-stair-falling MIL and just got home. She’s fine. I’m totaled.
Pass the damn bill or FOAD. Also, everything else.

We have a black muslim president! When did that happen?
Oh, and John McCain’s a loathsome shit. But you did say “news”, so…
r€nato
AZCentral.com – the website for the Arizona Republic, which I believe is the only newspaper left in the Phoenix metro area – has not, as far as I can tell, posted a single story with regards to McCain’s DADT flip-flop.
In fact, I just drilled down into their “politics” pages. Not even a buried story about it.
Don’tcha think that might be an important story to cover in McCain’s own backyard?
Church Lady
Don’t you have a class to teach or some papers to grade?

@DougJ: It’s a Sci-Fi Time Travel mystery show. People enjoy trying to guess what the hell is going on.
I mean, I enjoy it. Fun to sit around and try to guess how the writers are thinking.

How did I miss this announcement back in September? Now it’s probably too late to get tickets for this:

@r€nato:
Not if McCain wants to get reelected, no.

Or a WaPo reporter to fuck with?

This is where I come to find out if anything is happening out there.
If there is nothing happening here then as far as I am concerned there is nothing happening anywhere.

Howard Kurtz is being an idiot and thinks he is important. I guess thats not news.
DougJ
@Church Lady:
Truth be told, that’s the problem.

How about Eric Holder’s smackdown on McConnell’s nonsense? That’s pretty delightful.

I’m giving CA taxpayers their moneys worth by working 80 hour weeks. I’m on the brink of burn-out though. So, no, the only thing going on out here from my perspective is work.

In video game news, the new Alien vs. Predator’s multiplayer demo is out tomorrow. I played the first one in college, but that was before widespread intertubes, and so I’ve always wondered how multiplayer would work with such vastly unbalanced races.

Anyone disappointed that they can’t get to see Sarah Palin yodel at the Tea Party Convention, take heart. Yet another opportunity to watch Sarah display her fine hog calling skills is taking place.

I am finding Grumpy McGrumpypants McCain getting pwned by Colin Powell quite entertaining.
http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2010/02/for-the-record.html
I guess Powell finds him as character-free as I do. And that’s saying quite a bit if a lying piece of shit like Powell thinks McCain is too disgusting to be taken seriously.
geg6
@Sam:
Oooo, I like that, too.
Lotsa GOPers getting pwned today. It’s a good day.
GReynoldsCT00
@CalD:
and I saw this on that subject
KDP
@Sam: Nice! But how will it play in Topeka?
Chad N Freude
@Sam: Seriously excellent. I predict it will sink silently to the bottom of the MSM unreported pile.

@Sam:
It is beautiful. I love “some have argued”.
“Some have argued that had Abdulmutallab been declared an enemy combatant, the government could have held him indefinitely without providing him access to an attorney. But the government’s legal authority to do so is far from clear. In fact, when the Bush administration attempted to deny Jose Padilla access to an attorney, a federal judge in New York rejected that position, ruling that Padilla must be allowed to meet with his lawyer. Notably, the judge in that case was Michael Mukasey, my predecessor as Attorney General. In fact, there is no court-approved system currently in place in which suspected terrorists captured inside the United States can be detained and held without access to an attorney; nor is there any known mechanism to persuade an uncooperative individual to talk to the government that has been proven more effective than the criminal justice system.”
It’s still a little disconcerting to me that the AG has to spend so much time selling conservatives on the legal system.
Jeez. You can’t make any assumptions with these guys. Start from scratch, every day.

Have we covered this today?

Scott Brown apparently lied about hearing from Sarah Palin on the night of his big win. Could it be? Is He just another regular old politician? hm.

Y’all might enjoy (okay, maybe too strong a word) this account of some of our local issues way up here in the corner of the United States and how some of the antics of the right/tea partiers and their captured representatives are influencing ridiculously local but very important public health issues.
Draw your own conclusions from this brief view of our local poopey politics, but us progressives had better come up with an answer to this on a national level. Right now, we do not have a penetrating argument about why the common good is important, and our catastrophic lack of clarity among ourselves during the health care debacle just turned off everyone, including ourselves.
We can spend countless hours cataloguing the idiocy and repetitive craziness of the Republicans, but we can’t affirm what we support in a strong enough message that resonates.
Please understand, I am mad at myself very much too. I am very concerned just here locally what to do to stop this shit and keep these people from causing us to close down all our recreational shellfish areas and further impair our long standing salmon restoration efforts — not to speak of presenting a true health hazard!
So again, this is not about me pointing fingers outside to others, but an honest challenge and I would love your collective and singular wisdom..
Thnks! (hope that my linking comes out right)

I found the story about the FBI bringing the Undiebomber’s family in to get him to talk amusing.
That motherboarding is powerful stuff.

Kay Baily Hutchison is eating it so badly in the Republican primary for TX Governor that the teabagger Medina (Who? Exactly) is within spitting distance of 20% in the polls and could possibly pull into 2nd place. Meanwhile Perry is sailing northwards of 44% . That son of a bitch is going to win a third goddamned term. The longest-serving governor in TX history is going to be Rick Fucking Perry.
On the D side, Bill White finally put out a fucking campaign ad; until this point he’s been virtually invisible. Compare with Farouk Shami, who has ads all over the goddamned place (print/web/TV/road signs). I look at Shami and I see another Tony Goddamned Sanchez (rich businessman who knows dick all about government, buys his way into the D nomination, and is revealed to be a total fucking idiot during the general election).

@kay:
Don’t forget, it’s no longer their legal system.

@Jon: Is that the Democratic counterpart of last weeks’ Republican thing? How’d that go? Is there video?
Way, way off topic but I thought this would amuse my fellow juicers. I don’t normally read my Nigerian scam letters but I liked this one:
Am I supposed to be more swayed by the idea that my megabucks will come with a 16-year-old I’ve never met who I’m supposed to raise? Is this a stronger pitch than the pure greed one?

I stopped watching at the beginning of the third season. No matter what the writers insisted, it still looked like they were flailing around, making it up as they went along.
I’d like to see the finale, but I wouldn’t be able to make heads or tails out of it.
Oh, and McCain’s a sour old fuck.
Jim, Foolish Literalist
Obama told the ConservaDems, in the person of Blanche Walton Lincoln, to pull their heads out of David Broder’s ass. I liked that
Not that I think for a moment Lincoln is smart enough to understand what Obama’s talking about. She’s tanking in the polls in Arkansas, according to TPM. Apparently her bashing of “extremists”, people who want health care reform and think global warming is a problem, isn’t saving her ass at home.

@Grumpy Code Monkey:
I haven’t been paying much attention to the clusterfuck in TX (which is, really, a habit with me), but it sure sounds like fun down there. Almost as much fun as FL. I hear more and more from my friends and relatives in FL that Crist should just pull a Specter and he’d crush Rubio in a landslide.
I wonder how much of that talk is wishful thinking or what the actual outcome will be. Crist hanging with Obama again last week in Tampa couldn’t have done him much good with the nutbags in the GOP down there.
Jon
@Randy P: well, it’s a bipartisan (lol) petition for Question Time to be made a regular thing. I signed (but who the hell am i? haha) and there’s a list on the front page of people who have.
I read a bit about the Dem QT today. Pretty much him laying it out for the Senate dems that they’re a bunch of wusses. I really really despise Blanche Lincoln.

I guess “are we really that small a sliver of the party?” is too long for a tag, but I have a feeling there’s going to be a lot of “What happened to our Revolution?” from PUMAs and firebaggers over the next few months.

No outrage from progressives for this klassy statement by
Max Blumenthal.
Instead they condemn this.

@Grumpy Code Monkey:
Eh, Kay Bailey would have been a cosmetic change. If we’re going to have a Repug as Governor, may as well let Governor Goodhair embarrass the party for another term.
Yes I’m ashamed he’s my governor, but hell, Annise Parker is my mayor.

@Paul L.:

Via The Washington Independent, James O’Keefe is a gift that keeps on giving:

@Paul L.:
That’s funny, I thought that Rush regularly characterized feminists as ‘femi-nazis’ and also as being a bunch of fat, ugly, hairy dykes that no man would want to bone anyhow, not even with the world’s best beer goggles on.
Maybe what Rush meant to say, is that the only way he can get close to a vagina is when he pays for the privilege.
Bhall35
@Paul L.: Weak sauce. You must be a Republican if you cannot tell the difference. Better trolls, please.

@r€nato:
Meh. He’s, as usual, lying even about getting a boner for women any way. Because if women get him excited, then what does he need boner pills and boys in the Domincan Republic for?
Bhall35
@geg6: @r€nato: As far as Limbaugh goes, the late, incomparable Bill Hicks took care of this a while ago (definitely NSFW):

PS: Speaking as a gay man, the non-PCness of it doesn’t bother me at all, but YMMV. Especially if you’re Paul L.

So can anyone tell me…
Just who did put the bomp in the bomp bah bomp bah bomp?
Is it the same guy who put the ram in the rama lama ding dong?
BruinKid
Yeah, somewhat of a bombshell story, though not surprising, of James O’Keefe being seen at a white power conference in 2006, not just attending, but manning one of the tables. His partner in crime then was Marcus Epstein, the same guy who assaulted a black woman while drunk, calling her the N-word.

I just discovered the Vice TV guides to both Liberia & North Korea. It’s the most fascinating TV I’ve watched in forever. Here’s a link to Liberia.
