The spam filter is out of control, and I know that a number of you are having problems. If you have lost a comment, it is because I just deleted the whole damned thing.
Sorry, but this is a hobby, not a job.

That’s okay, you can delete mine as is your wont/ There are plenty more brain farts where that one came from. You can’t stop the signal Cole.

I find that I can only provide 1 link per post. I’ve been blaming WP.
Comrade Jake
You’re kidding right? Cole, you’re selling coffee mugs with your fucking cat’s picture on them. Don’t get me wrong, that stuff is great. But whatever “job” you do have, it became your hobby a long time ago.

There cannot possibly be anything more important than these words I’m typing.

@Comrade Jake: Uhh…the money from all that stuff goes to an animal shelter in North Carolina. John doesn’t make anything off the BJ store. Not that he couldn’t if he wanted, but that is not its purpose.

“The spam filter is out of control.”
That needs to be a tag. Maybe instead of the sooo pedestrian “Site maintenance.”

That seems to have become a main theme of the comments in many open threads.

LOL x 10.
A hobby is an activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure or relaxation, often in one’s spare time.
Dood, you are working. You just aren’t getting paid for it.
John Cole
@Comrade Jake: Tell me you are drunk or just missed the 500 announcements that the store is all going to a no-kill animal rescue.

Post a picture of the pets and go play one of them newfangled video games. We’ll amuse ourselves.

@John Cole: I’m with comrade Jake and this oughta pay better. We need minimum minion wages, NOW. Attica! Attica! Attica!.
I call a general commentariat strike, well maybe tomorrow, I got shit to say tonight.
Comrade Mary
Don’t you mean “Atticat! Atticat! Atticat!”?
I’m skeered of linking now. I may never link again.

@Comrade Mary: “I’m skeered of linking now. I may never link again.”
LOL. Me, too. One night on the ‘artists’ thread I tried posting a link that got caught in the filter. Only I didn’t know there was a filter, so I must have posted it 20 times figuring that at some point it was going to go through.
I probably po’d someone mightily over that.

@John Cole:
I could be wrong, but when I read Comrade Jake’s comment, I immediately took it as a kind and humorous observation on the amount of time that JC puts into things here.
If judged by time on clock and amount lives touched, this is quite a full time job.
Tho the denero sucks.

What we have here commenters is an amazing blogger. If this is a hobby, I wouldn’t want to compete with him on a job.

Your work is appreciated, John. Thank you for everything.

John,
There’s a great captcha plugin for WordPress. I use it on my blog and it’s great at stopping spam in its tracks.

I’m just going to de-lurk really quick and say that I’m glad this is your hobby, Mr. Cole, because I don’t know how I’d get through the political week without you, your co-bloggers, and your commenters. I have much appreciation for what you do here, even if my comment gets eated.
And I’d add that in a just world, it would be your job, and I could watch you on CNN this Sunday instead of fancy-feet DeLay.

All he has had to do is sit around and feel pain (you’ve got a real talent son, keep it up!), the minions took care of the rest.
