Edited: now that I’ve read the (very brief) piece, it is essentially perfect DougJ-bait. I’m sure there are no actual dark machinations involved in these events, in the real world – the people in this administration seem neither so vindictive nor so effective – but, evil plot or no, bad things couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of people than Fred Hiatt’s enablers and most of their employees (Ezra Klein, of course, excepted).

Well, no need for two clickable links…
ETA: And now for actually going to the link – the Department of Education has been investigating Washington Post’s parent company and now the Dick Whisperer and other WaPo reporters are promoting Rahm-was-right stories which have the realtime effect of driving a major wedge into the Adminstration? Fred Hiatt does play to win, doesn’t he?
I’d have put this in my comment above, as a 2nd edit, but for some reason I didn’t have permission to re-edit the comment despite there being 25 seconds still on the clock.

So how long until Eugene Robinson and E.J. Dionne are shown the door as part of ‘restructuring’?

I had my test prep done with a local guy. He was awesome.
Thought about getting a job from Kaplan to supplement my income in college and couldn’t believe how little they paid. No wonder they suck.
Maybe we should get Rahm on Chatroulette (TDS link – I can’t believe I missed this last week.)

Hahahaha! How will Krauthammer and Kristol make ends meet with just Foxnews paychecks?

Rahm just chased me around the gymnasium shower, NAKED, screaming at me for Not voting for pubic option. Lemme tell ya, Rahm has a hard-on for anyone who voted against it.

Rahm, apparently, does not sleep because he is controlling everything up and down I-95.
Rahm should get Ari Gold to represent him so he can get better press.

Hey now, I worked for Kaplan for a summer, teaching SAT Prep to high school students. From what I saw, it wasn’t the worst business in the world, by a long shot.
And never once did my boss or any of my coworkers piss on my shoe and tell me it was raining, right before they busted out the pom-poms for a glorious Iraq War Adventure.
Outgoing Rep. Eric Massa went on a rant regarding White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel today during a radio interview calling him the “son of the devil’s spawn.”
Massa (D-NY) went on to say, “He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote. He would strap his children to the front end of a steam locomotive.”
Rep. Massa describes a confrontation with Emanuel in a shower: “I am showering, naked as a jaybird, and here comes Rahm Emanuel, not even with a towel wrapped around his tush, poking his finger in my chest, yelling at me.”
Massa went on to say that Emanuel would go to the Congressional gym to intimidate members of congress.
I like this version of Rahm. And this testimony puts a lie to the conspiracy theories that Rahm didn’t want to pass the public option and that he’s soft on moderates and conservative dems.
I’m waiting for the 11th-dimensional conspiracy chess explanation from Greenwald or Hamsher about how this is all just a cover to make the left think that Rahm was leaning on moderates and conservatives when he was actually spending all of his time punching hippies in the face.
I also noticed on this page, under “Most Active In Politics”:
N.C. Man Accused of Carving ‘Mine’ on Rape Victim
Kentucky Student Reportedly Wrapped in Toilet Paper, Set on Fire
6 Women Hospitalized After Botched Butt-Enhancing Procedures
Woman Charged for Squirting Breast Milk at Deputy
N. Korea Says It Is Ready to ‘Blow Up’ U.S.
Presumably the Democrats are responsible for all of this.

@Zifnab: SAT scores correlate to income precisely because of groups like Kaplan. Yeah, it’s a bad test, yadda, yadda, but it’s turned into a very effective way to suck money out of nervous parents.
I am continually amazed at the way Rahm has become the latter day Karl Rove, complete with his own weather machine, apparently
I’m not. It’s part and parcel of the American tendency to reduce complex forces into simple matters of good and evil, preferably in the package of a person.
Can I just say if Rahm wanted to chase me around a shower naked, well I might just let him catch me. I think the man is hot.

Georgia Pig
@Mnemosyne: Yeah, that ‘s the Rahm I hoped we were getting, a guy who would get up in the grill of guys like Massa, naked or otherwise. Greenwald’s conspiracy theory would be that Rahm forced Massa out so that Massa would tell that story on FoxNews. More effective for the FoxNews audience than a horse’s head in Massa’s bed or some more traditional intimidation because it has homoerotic overtones (e.g., the jabbing finger). The guy is Kayser Soze.

@Joel: I applied to work for Kaplan years ago and they turned me down for whatever reason. I ended up working for The Princeton Review, and got a very high LSAT score using their methods. All of my Kaplan experiences [as a TPR mole] confirmed my bias — they were creepy alpha-douches. This makes me happy.

@Mike Kay: I am tempted to go to FDL to see how conflicted they are about this whole thing. Someone is confirming their worst believes about Rahm, yet that same someone is claiming that Rahm harassed him about not voting for the public option. What a quandary.
What does “son of the devil’s spawn” mean? Rahm is the devil’s grandchild?

Every time some poor old politician wants to blow a staffer, we try to throw the guy out of office. Sometimes even if he’s in our own political party. Shit, this country is a tough crowd. It’s like Woodstock II when they ran out of bottled water.

Rahm out to destroy WaPo. Rahm had Massa set up to lower the bar for passing HCR.
If only I could really believe this administration were cutthroat and competent enough for these to be true…
