Awesome show. Raylan was a great character from the moment that Leonard introduced him years ago.

The natives are restless tonight and engaged in rancorous play. All in a days work, I suppose. I think we made progress though, in the cause of stirring the pot for making whirled peas and other libtard assperations.
So, I have WV advancing to the finals in my bracket. JC, am I truly f**ked?

There is hope even for Okies.
There’s been a controversy here in the Sooner State recently over President Obama’s portrait in the State House.
Traditionally, the portrait of the sitting president hangs on a wall of the Representative Assembly chamber. The fixed camera that records the goings on in the chamber has the portrait in the frame. For the last few weeks, the President’s picture keeps getting removed from the wall and hidden, replaced by a portrait of Governor Brad Henry (D). The minority Democrats, and especially the African American State Representatives (yes, we have them) have been livid about it, and it’s been news on the local OKC channels.
Well today, the Representative from Arcadia, Lewis Moore (R, Naturally) has admitted that he’s the responsible party. He claimed it was a practical joke, and that his opposition to healthcare reform is the motivation. Riiiiight. Arcadia is the prototypical rich white racist enclave of gated communities with armed security just outside of OKC.
The portrait of the President is now bolted to the wall, by orders of the Assembly Speaker Lance Cargill, who is also a Republican.
Comments on the KFOR website are running 5 to 1 against Rep Moore, but this is Oklahoma, so you know there’s a significant number of incoherent blatherings about freedom and socialism and political correctness and so on. We are the state that gave you Inhofe and Coburn, after all. But still, there’s hope.

Walt Goggins, who did an amazing job playing Shane Vendrell in “The Shield” is on “Justified.” Therefore, I will watch it.

I watched Justified. Liked it and will give it a few more goes. Unfortunately, it is on at the same time as Southland and both are after Lost which usually runs a few minutes late. All of which means I have to use my techie prowess to arrange things on the DVR to avoid missing the first 5 minutes of those shows…
Quitting Balloon-Juice……tried once before but I’m going to have to do it now. Last week, I was offered a job as a federal prosecutor and I decided to take it. I’ll keep reading but I don’t feel like I should comment. Wish me luck.
Betcha can’t read without commenting, but I wish you luck on that.
LOST with 3 extra min, then Southland @9PM, then Justified (12:11 am) times are central.
But our DVR will do 2 shows at a time so that’s how i can have LOST go over a few min.
What little I’ve read/seen about the show leads me to believe he will be playing an untrustworthy sumbitch, so you should be safe.
I also loved the Shield.

Justified premiere on FX.
“Justified” was pretty good. We’ve got no shortage of trailer trash and teabaggers in our little town, but no neo-Nazis with LAW rockets. Probably a good thing.

Actually, he seems a lot more relaxed than on Deadwood. One character called him the angriest man she knows, but I thought, “Lady, you’ve never met Seth Bullock.”

@bnut:
Well, sure, Swearengen was great. He was ruthless, cold-blooded, and scary, but I wouldn’t describe him as angry. More like, annoyed that he was surrounded by morons. Bullock, on the other hand, was so tightly clenched that it seemed that anything could push him over the edge into a berserker rage.

I’m thinking of buying a new gaming console.
Any thoughts on the current state of the console wars? I’m considering getting a Wii and a PSP. The shopaholic part of me says “buy them all” but I’m honestly leery about getting an X-Box 360.
But more seriously, is your concern about the 360 the hardware issues? If so, those are more or less ironed out these days, and in the event that they aren’t, you’ve got a three year warranty on them.
Yeah, it’s basically the stories that came out about the system cooking itself when it first came out. I’ve heard a few people say they’re more reliable now, but I’m still kind of leery about buying one.
At the moment I’ve gone crazy for Mario Kart 64 and old Infocom games, which might not be helpful for picking a new system. I like RPGs, adventure games, racing games, and the odd first person shooter. I’ve never been that big on fighting games, but a friend convinced me to give Soul Caliber for the Dreamcast a try recently. Much fun.

Infocom & Adventure games: probably the PC that you’re typing on is sufficient. There are lots of great old adventure games like Gabriel Knight on Good Old Games. And Steam has all the old LucasArts adventure games. Ever play Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, or Monkey Island? Good times.
RPGs: the PC and xBox 360 (and the PS3 to a lesser extent) are great platforms for this. The Wii has some like Zelda. The PC is especially rich in RPGs and lots of them can be bought super cheap on Steam and Direct2Drive. There are some on handhelds too.
Racing Games: Xbox & PS3 have more realistic racers, but the Wii has plenty, as do hand-helds. The PC has quite a few, too. I play Grid and Gran Turismo on my PC with an xbox controller.
FPS: xBox and PS3 have made great strides with the edge to the xbox, but the PC is still the best place to play FPSs.
