Just checked the link from DougJ earlier about the jackass scumbag who spit on Emanuel Cleaver:

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) issued a statement late Saturday saying that he was spit upon while walking to the Capitol to cast a vote, leading the Capitol Police to usher him into the building out of concern for his safety. Police detained the individual, who was then released because Cleaver declined to press charges.

“The congressman was walking into the Capitol to vote, when one protester spat on him. The congressman would like to thank the U.S. Capitol Police officer who quickly escorted the other Members and him into the Capitol, and defused the tense situation with professionalism and care,” said Danny Rotert, a spokesman for Cleaver.

I guarantee the wingnuts claim that Cleaver refused to press charges so it would not be known that the spitter was a Union or Acorn plant.

Anyone want to bet me any amount of money? Anyone? Bueller?

Yeah, John Cole, I think Jim Treacher already had that base covered today, by implication at least. Can’t remember where I read that, may have been his twitter channel (feed? whatever), which DougJ or some such guy was referencing earlier in the day.

I might be willing to take bets on the failure of the HCR reconciliation fix in the Senate though. Sorry to harsh on anyone’s buzz, man, but I just got a bad feeling from the smugness on display in the GOP today. It’s all tactics and FTW for their side, and I think somehow we are walking into some sort of process-related trap, though I have no actual clue what it could be. What I do know is that people would have much to complain about in the event that the House passes the straight senate bill but the senate is not able to keep their word on the fixes that they have promised. Let us not forget that it is Harry Reid who is the paragon of efficacy behind the passage of the fixes, right? I mean he’s not exactly known to be able to muscle things through.

    Somebody, tell me I’m trippin’.

Now, now, let’s not get into eliminationist fantasies involving leaving people to despair in the desert. Deserts are fragile, pristine, and important ecosystems that should never be polluted with wingnuts.

Dropping them into a quickly lethal environment – like the Northern Pacific Pollution Vortex, or the Gulf of Mexico dead zone – may not be quite as satisfying as imagining them dehydrating and starving to death in the desert till their dessicated corpses match their dessicated souls, but it’s much more environmentally responsible.

Anyone who doubted that the entire Tea Bagger movement was basically one giant collective shout of “N—-r!” from stupid racist FOX News viewers should now be forced to face the facts.

Despite those who will deny ownership (I’m not touching that bet, BTW, as someone above pointed out it’s de facto already) the fact that at least some Republican politicians had to spend part of yesterday and today denouncing them, even in a mealy-mouthed ho-hum way, is great news for McCain timing, actually.

One last vile, racist, outburst so at least some people can see what motivates the right wing “opposition” to HCR.

At work on Friday one of my so called independent/libertarian bent co-workers was kinda worked up about all the tea bagger whines and talks about law nullifcation/secession stuff and how it is all going to blow up when health care passes.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a word in edgewise because I wanted to tell him it wasn’t gonna happen. When these guys really get worked up they overstep their bounds, and it is starting to happen fast in furious.

Cheney with their lawyer witch hunt
Beck with his social justice jihad
Tossing the money at the guy with Parkinsons
Follow that up with yesterdays “faggot” “n-word” and spitting.

They only have a voice when people will listen to them and give them some air time. When they overstep, the news people will finally realize they are bat-sh1t crazy and won’t give them the time of day and suddenly become irrelevant.

When health care passes, they will find something else to vilify.

Looks like the jerks really got around:

A staffer in Rep. Anthony Weiner’s office reported a stream of hostile encounters with tea partiers roaming the halls of Congress. The less harmful stuff was mockery. But they left a couple of notes behind. One asked what Rahm Emanuel did with Weiner in the shower, in a reference to mess around ex-Rep Eric Massa. It was signed with a swastika, the staffer said. The other note called the congressman “Schlomo Weiner,” among other hate-filled words.

Sanchez is a NO. She’s facing a pretty stiff opponent for re election and I have a feeling she wasn’t a release vote since she is hiding out of town until time to vote. Rep Ryan went to the floor and denounced the actions of the protesters and called for the GOP to distance themselves from the Tea Party! The fringe right is already claiming ACORN plants did all that and decrying the pictures of the “few” nasty signs at the rally. I wonder if the GOP has become uneasy about the monster they allowed to flourish? It may be too late-the rage against Ryan’s words from the right are pretty harsh….

At this rate, by June the Republican base will be marching on Washington in full SS regalia and KKK white hoods. It’s been a neck-and-neck race to see whether the Demos could get spineless faster than the Repubs could get crazier, but right now, it looks like the Republicans are pulling away in the home stretch to win by a mile.

It’s a knee jerk reaction that some right-leaning protesters take to the streets and the media and moonbats in the Congress start crying “RACIST!” and the media goes into convulstions.

Funny, how WaPo or the media didn’t show any video of the anti-war rally that took place also in DC this weekend, with communist banners and slogans, anti-semitic flags with swastikas. But hey, they’re pretty virtuous those lefties, so let’s not talk about it….shhhhhhhh…..

Tea Partier: Epithets Were From Pro-Reform ‘Plants’
    moments ago

From Evan McMorris-Santoro: An anti-health care reform protester from Connecticut named Mary tells me that reports of epithets thrown at members of congress by protesters yesterday are either false or the result of rumored “plants” by pro-reformers among protesters on the hill this weekend.

Mary (the only name she would give me) was here yesterday and said that all the protesters she was with were “peaceful.” Though she suggested it was possible that some among the protesters gathered on the Hill this weekend may have used the reported language, she said it was very unlikely. Regardless, she said, it was much ado about nothing.

“The media likes to overblow these things,” she said.
