Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Come on, man.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

The revolution will be supervised.

“woke” is the new caravan.

Compromise? There is no middle ground between a firefighter and an arsonist.

You cannot shame the shameless.

Everything is totally normal and fine!!!

If ‘weird’ was the finish line, they ran through the tape and kept running.

“When somebody takes the time to draw up a playbook, they’re gonna use it.”

Nothing worth doing is easy.

If you are still in the gop, you are either an extremist yourself, or in bed with those who are.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

So many bastards, so little time.

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

They punch you in the face and then start crying because their fist hurts.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

At some point, the ability to learn is a factor of character, not IQ.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

You come for women, you’re gonna get your ass kicked.

Baby steps, because the Republican Party is full of angry babies.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Governor Eric Massa?

I can’t say that this surprises me that much:

New York politics took another unexpected turn this morning. Eric Massa announced he is running for Governor on the Republican ticket. From this morning’s press conference at the Rochester Plaza Hotel:

[….]

“As I look at recent occupants of the Governor’s Mansion, and the others who are in the race, I feel that this is where I belong. I can see now that everything happens for a reason.”

Update. This was my favorite April Fool’s Joke of the day, so far, from my old friends at RochesterTurning. The TPM entry had potential but ultimately was too complicated.

    That’s a pretty wide stance.

April Fools, or the rantings of a man who does not realize that the sex scandal must await until after one is elected governor of New York?

This is an April Fool’s joke, right?

Or maybe Cuomo’s people talked him into it?

He can’t be serious. He does understand that he is a national joke, right?

Damn. It really is turning out to be a good day.

Oh, and OT, another glimmer of Bill O sounding intelligent? (I can’t believe I typed that!)

O’Reilly then went on to explain that even though he himself refers to Franken as “Stuart Smalley” all the time, Mattera should not have taken that posture as a journalist in trying to get answers from Franken about the health care bill. “The mistake you made was you were disrespectful for him — to him, when you called him ‘Sen. Smalley,'” said O’Reilly, “and you gave him a reason to blow you off.”

OH WOW! I read these things all day long, and I still don’t get that it’s April Fool’s Day.

    Damn. That would be awesome.

We Objectivists welcome Eric Massa. Ayn Rand liked younger men too. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Well he would fit right in with the Wingnuts, especially with his history of tickling men, sexually harrassing men, and getting approached in the shower by a naked one.

Now all he needs to produce is a receipt for drinks at a tantric leather bar and he’s golden!

But I am sure this all a bad joke.

NY Republicans are so pathetic that this would probably count as a coup for them. I mean, they’re actually running Rick Lazio again. That guy just has loser written all over him more than anyone since Walter Mondale.

Impressive. DougJ was able to plant this story in the Rochester press and then comment on it for BJ. That’s why he’s an Arkon.

    @geg6:

O’Reilly will say something reasonable or even intelligent about once every three months, as long as that massive ego wrapped in a very thin-skin (like McCain, he’s a miracle of psychological physics) isn’t threatened.

    And another OT…

I just wrote an email to my state’s Attorney General, Tom Corbett, asking him if his lawsuit against the Affordable Care Act would also mean I would no longer be forced by the state to purchase auto insurance. And if not, why not. I do not expect an answer.

Will this threaten his standing over at Fox?

Surely there is a cartoon clip that goes with this?

How about Porky Pig? “Everyth-uh-th-uh-th-uh-th-uh-It all happens for a re-uh-re-re-uh-re-uh-re-uh purpose!”

@geg6: I have to agree with some of the TPM commenters about O’Reilly. He was not being all too intelligent or encouraging civil discourse. He was explaining to Mattera that the in person rudeness gave Franken an excuse to avoid talking to him (an out from Mattera’s trap so to speak). That is the only reason that calling him Sen Smalley was bad.

I’ve got a better joke for you.

Intelligent Design “theorist” William Dembski fell for an April Fools Day story in the Dallas Morning News, and posted it on his blog as if it was serious.

Man. Sad to say, I thought it could actually be real. Which says something about the state of our politics, I guess. Would been interesting, to say the least.
