Lindsey Graham on immigration reform:
“What bill are we going to take up?” he asked in an interview. “What are we going to do? I mean, you’ve done nothing to lay the groundwork for this, we’ve spent all of our time on health care. What bill are we going to take up? Do you expect me to write a bill? Am I going to write every bill in this Congress?”

Hard work, or hardly working? You be the judge.

Diva or no, I’m prone to agree with him. Between the SC nomination and Immigration Reform we’re going to have their crazy-ass base so riled up they won’t dare vote for the Climate Bill, and with the amount of time all this will take, plus the election season…
Well, I’m not optimistic. And energy policy/cap and trade is my cuppa, so you can imagine my annoyance.
Cat Lady
He sure puts the queen in drama queen, nudge nudge wink wink. Not that there’s one damn thing wrong with that.
asiangrrlMN
Fuck him with my rusty pitchfork. The Republicans whine about creating a problem (in this case, the healthcare debate debacle) and then whine about having to try to be a part of the solution.
@Cat Lady: It’s only wrong when you get a 0% rating on gay rights issues for the way he voted on them.

So now the GOP doesn’t want to write all the bills in Congress now?
MMonides
@electricgrendel: Mint julip! There’s a good idea for this evening…

Republicans are manly he men full of testosterone and enough spunk to float a battleship. Democrats are wimpy girly pants who are afraid real work will damage their manicures.
Just a friendly reminder, in case for some inexplicable reason you got confused.

@kommrade reproductive vigor:
given your nom de plume, i can only speculate, “conservative plant!!!11!!”

On this:
Well, Lindsey, you could start lightening your load by voting for cloture on bills Democrats bring, so that bills could make it to the floor and be voted on by the majority of Senators as required, and it wouldn’t just be your burden.
Oh, but you want your filibuster and your FREEDUM too.

Lindsay and the rest of the Repubs can go stew in it. Obama, Reid and Pelosi know that they have to push everything now because they are likely to lose seats in Nov. and so Obama’s going to sitting on his ass between 2010 and 2012. BTW whatever happened to Lieberman persuading some of his fellow Gang of 14 to vote for the Dems?
Shygetz
I’m sorry, is Lindsey Graham complaining because he has too MUCH influence?

Palpatine should go galt. Maybe it’s time for Paris Hilton or Lindsey Lohan to throw their hat into the ring. If we replaced every washed up over the hill politico with celebutantes just think what that would do for C-Span’s ratings. Think I’m onto something here.

mistermix sir, putting that picture at the top of this post was an act of sheer brilliance. Bravo to you, sir.
Drama QUEEN indeed. Tee hee.

It’s hard. It’s hard work. (Now watch this drive….)

Lindsay seems so much testier since he was outed.

Writing laws? I thought that’s what staffers and lobbyists were for. Can’t worry senators’ beautiful minds with that, can we?

I don’t know if everyone is seeing the Sue Lowden-Rush Limbaugh ad at the top of the comments, but I can’t stop laughing. That is one of the creepiest political photographs I have ever seen.
Allison W.
omg! He has to do…………..work? the poor thing.
Every issue that Obama has brought up has been talked about for many years, what is the difficulty in writing a bill? Don’t these guys have rough drafts, objectives, goals, and all that?

Nobody trusts him anymore?
Hmmm, I wonder why!
Brachiator
@Allison W.:
It does make you wonder. The Democrats act as though they never expected to win the Congress or the White House ever again.
And the cynic in me believes that some Democrats take bags of money from lobbyists with a wink and a nod and say, “Don’t worry. We’ll tell the people that we’re the party of immigration reform and whatnot, but the Republicans will always whip our asses in the elections, so we won’t ever have to do anything. Your money is safe with me.”
Nick
@Brachiator: No it doesn’t…immigration reform bills have been written at least three times in the past ten years, during Republican and Democratic congress and have repeaditely failed for not pleasing either the far right or the far left.
Everyone found something in those bills they didn’t like
James K. Polk, Esq.
@Keith:
They are just used to having lobbyists write the bills for them.
JasonF
“Spent all of our time on health care?” I was told that the health care bill was rushed through Congress without any time for anybody to consider it.
TuiMel
I’m guessing Senator Graham can “never have anything nice” either.
Hey, Lindsey, either you want to help solve this problem or you don’t. Maybe you should apply yourself with all the energy you put into bringing articles of impeachment for a blow job cover-up?
