Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Since we are repeating ourselves, let me just say fuck that.

Russian mouthpiece, go fuck yourself.

The “burn-it-down” people are good with that until they become part of the kindling.

We are learning that “working class” means “white” for way too many people.

The arc of the moral universe does not bend itself. it is up to us to bend it.

They don’t have outfits that big. nor codpieces that small.

If you can’t control your emotions, someone else will.

Give the craziest people you know everything they want and hope they don’t ask for more? Great plan.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

When we show up, we win.

“Alexa, change the president.”

Imperialist aggressors must be defeated, or the whole world loses.

Tide comes in. Tide goes out. You can’t explain that.

They want us to be overwhelmed and exhausted. Focus. Resist. Oppose.

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Their shamelessness is their super power.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

“Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on.”

“Just close your eyes and kiss the girl and go where the tilt-a-whirl takes you.” ~OzarkHillbilly

This isn’t Democrats spending madly. This is government catching up.

If you’re gonna whine, it’s time to resign!

If you don’t believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love isn’t freedom, it is privilege.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

Oh wow, A Bullocks Oriole just landed on my Hummer feeder to siphon a drink of sugar water. It could be the same pair that first arrived last spring and nested nearby. Didn’t have the camera set up, but they are beauties. Here is a pic from last year.

How the hell is hockey not done yet? Hockey during the fourth week of baseball season just seems wrong.

    Penguins and Canadians

‘Habs’ comes from the French “les habitants”, the original settlers of the region.

Unless you were joking. Go Rangers, lol.

This post is incorrect. It should be titled “Sharks v. Red Wings, Game Three”, and the content should be “Let’s Go Sharks!”.

    @BARRASSO:

I miss Gary Thorne too. Definitely the best play-by-play man in hockey. Mike Emrick’s not bad, but he’s no Gary Thorne.

I’m agnostic on Habs vs. Pens, rooting for the Habs because they’re not the Canucks.

    But Die, Redwings, Die.

Its an open thread..so I’ll throw this out. It seems to me that so many policies enacted by our friends the repubs have centered around “socializing losses and privatizing gains”. After thinking about it, even our immigration policy (or the lack thereof) is another example. We have socialized the losses (that is the social safety net providing services to the children of illegal immigrants, and ER care) and privatized the gains (that is american biz owners getting the increased profits associated with low wages, and depressing wages/benefits of legal citizens). It is so diabolical that so many policies would end up transferring wealth from ordinary taxpayers to the Oligarhy (ala GB). As thick as many right wingers are, they have leaders that are as dangerous and brilliant as any external enemy ever in the history of our republic.

Cup will get raised in June. Then they let the ice melt for 90 days before the camps open for the next season. Hockey is one of the few VERY GOOD THINGS the GOP, Arizona, Mississippi, or BP hasn’t ruined for everyone else.

Good God, that Sharks game was a nailbiter. I remember leaving the bar saying “That’s it, they’re down 3-1 with 12 minutes to go in the third, there’s no way they’re going to win this” and getting home just in time to hear Marleau put them over the top in overtime. Seriously, what the hell.

That was a hell of a game! Pens/Habs is going seven and I don’t dare predict the winner. Awesome matchup.

As far as the Wings/Sharks goes… holy hell. Hey Sharks, you’ve built this rep for melting down horribly in every post-season, it’d be nice if you could go back to doing that again before us Wings fans begin jumping off roofs, kthxbye.

@Crza: No thanks, we prefer these Sharks out here in the Bay Area. You’ve had your fun.

@Sirkowski: Hockey fans are retarded everywhere. Moreso on Dallas and Denver.
