Big day for Tunch- off to the vets to have his teeth cleaned and a tooth removed. He is really bitching up a storm because I did not feed him this morning because I didn’t know if it was safe to feed a cat before surgery. I guess I never thought to ask if cats were like humans in that regard.
BTW- It is a good thing this little fellow was already adopted, or I was going to grab him. I really need to stop visiting petfinder.com.

Lady Smudge sez: Hang in there, Tunch
dmsilev
So, he’ll be (a) at the vet and (b) cranky because he’s hungry.
Have you warned the vet to have their equivalent of a SWAT team on high alert?

Oh not the dreaded mask again. Poor Tunch.

I’m surprised your Vet didn’t explicitly tell you not to feed them. Good call on your part. One of mine eventually became known as Gummy Bear as her teeth were extracted one and two at a time over the years.

Kiwis vs. the Slavs. Lord of the Ringers looking surprisingly strong so far….

I’ve always been told “don’t feed or water them after midnight.”
I think that’s where the movie thing came from…

Me, three. In fact, my boy cat just lost his marbles this morning and the vet explicitly told me no food after 10 pm. (Nothing about water, though.)

You just can’t make this stuff up…
The Giant, Buttery, Touchdown Jesus of I-75, between Cincinnati and Monroe, Ohio, was destroyed last night during the storms by lightning and a subsequent fire.
Commence with the “Act of God” jokes now.
In a way, it’s bittersweet. I’m kind of going to miss driving out of my way just to show it to out-of-town friends who refused to believe it existed. :-(

My dogs and kittehs always seemed to recover from anesthesia differently. The pups were like all “poor, pitiful me (see my sad eyes).
The cats seemed to be thinking, “I am tired, but what the fuck just happened?” then, “I feel better, but the fuck did you do to me?” to finally, “Ok, we’re friends. Can I lay on your lap while you scratch my ears?”

@JenJen: I notice that whoever picked the URL for that story got a head start on the jokes.

What a stunning kitty: a Siamese with white spots. No wonder he got adopted at blue light special speed.

That’s a cute kitten, John. You frequently shop for snacks for Tunch on PetFinder?

RIP, Jesus. Creation Museum? You’re next!

You were right not to feed him this morning, my poor cat Angus has lost all his teeth now because of Calichi virus, so kitten food all the time for Angus, and boy does he eat like a little horse.

You seem to have an thing for cats who’s tails don’t match their bodies.

I’ve been told no food after midnight, but water is OK. Nice to know it’s all so definite.

Feel better, Tunch!
Other Kitty is adorable! Looks like a fox, or a red panda. Such pretty markings!
Lately I’ve been tempted to get another ferret. We have so many tiny cuties at the shelter I’m afraid to bring Mr. A with. We ended up with Bucky because I stupidly said hey, come look at this lovey little ball of fwuff and he picked Bucky up and wouldn’t let him go.

To show what cave I was living in, as of May 27 St. Louis Athletica has shut down! I knew they were going to need help.
Relief that the Big 12 and the NCAA as we know it was saved has given way to low-level grief because at least in football, Nebraska was always there. You had to get past Nebraska to achieve anything of pith and moment.

Is anyone surprised that a Republican from AZ has suggested we landmine the Mexican border to deter illegal immigration?
Along with drone patrols (let’s hope they include hellfire missiles!) this make complete sense.
Then lets close the border so they can’t sneak in by car or train. When they start swimming lets create sharks with frikken lasers.
Dog is My Copilot
We’ve our dogs in for teeth cleanings and the vet has always told us to not feed them the morning of the procedure. That kitty is so cute! Beautiful coloring. I wonder what Tunch would have thought of you bringing another cat home?

Jesus, Cole! That’s like drunks shopping at the liquor store to folks like thee and me. Stay the hell away!
(This comment is in no way influenced by the fact that the last visit to the shelter resulted in THREE new kittehs at Chez Poop.)
(And that’s not just a Jesus “Jesus” in the first line, but a special “Flaming Jesus”. For extra emphasis.)

Kitteh’s been at the inkwell again. What a peculiar little fella, needs to grow into that cute big head.

A few months after my ex- and I adopted a tabby and a lilac point Siamese, I went into a pet shop and fell in love with a little black kitten (who immediately loved me back HARD for 16 years).
A few weeks after getting that kitten, I went to the same shop and saw a litter of aqua-eyed kittens with tabby markings and Siamese points. WANT, but my ex- (probably sensibly) was having none of it. I’ve had a weakness for Siamese-esque cats ever since, even when they don’t have bacon on them.

Awwwww! Kitteh is adorable. I eagerly await new bondage Tunchie pics.

ZOMG but that kitten is cute.

Having been present during feline surgery while I was young and contemplating a career as a vet I can confirm that the less that the feline has in its innards when the anesthetic hits the better. Why? you might ask. Because everything in the feline’s innards will come gushing out of the feline’s innards and have to be cleaned up before the surgery part begins. Hence, when our guys go off to the vet’s for surgeration they go the night before so that the vet can put up with the caterwauling caused by no chow at 5:15 PM.

Wow. That cat is strikingly beautiful.
