There is a black box covering half my screen on ESPN. Is anyone else seeing this? Never mind, it went away. Slovokia 2-0.

Vladimir Weiss is widely thought of as a future superstar. Would be nice for the Slovaks if the future were to begin about 15 minutes from now.

A LOT of empty seats there.
Nice goal by Vera.

I am not impressed by Slovakia’s defense. It reminds me of the US, though the Americans are much better going forward. Paraguay and Italy look to go through.

Doesn’t look like it. I just woke up, so am behind on what’s going on.
@Andy K:
I saw more empty seats than I expected in the Ghana match yesterday. What’s up with all the empty seats?

@ulee
I think you got this backwards. It’s Paraguay winning this match 2-1.
The thousands of empty seats show that there just aren’t nearly enough Paraguanians or Slovakians in SA to fill those seats, and this isn’t exactly the most scintillating draw for the natives either, even in WC play.

I have some DNA from Slovakia. Should I be rooting for them?

@cmorenc:
You are right. I should not post before having my cup of caffeine. Yikes.
I swear, google had it wrong and it showed Slovakia 2-0, just like ulee posted. Or maybe it was my lack of caffeine.

That, and FIFA have allocated thousands of tickets for each game to corporate accounts. A pundit for ITV was sacked after his 50 ticket allocation for 1 Dutch match was used by an ambush marketer. It transpires this one pundit, not even a first-line commentator or host, just your standard ex-pro analyst (admittedly, not a bad one) had been given 400 WC tickets.
If you want WC semi or final tickets, my suggestion is to obtain in-laws that work in TV.

Paraguay 2-0 over Slovakia. They have looked better than any of the elite teams (granted, that’s not too hard at this point), in my view. They’ll go on. That will likely put them up against Denmark in the round of 16, a match they should also win. Could they then get past Brazil, Spain, or Chile? I think they’d have a very serious shot. They split with Argentina and Brazil in the WC qualifiers. I wouldn’t discount Paraguay… and the seats filling up for them.
