Goooo Denmark!
stevie314159
France gives up early.
England goes against Germany.
Italy loses after the United States gets in.
Why does this all sound so familiar?
MikeJ
@stevie314159: Watch out for Japan. They may sneak up on us.
Face
Got a Danish friend (insert bearclaw joke here) who is almost literally worried sick about this. For the love of pastries, please let the Danes win this thing convincingly.
And Japan just ended it…..1-0 already. Danes in serious trouble.
stevie314159
@MikeJ: If Germany loses to England, will some of their players suit up for Argentina in their next game?
Nethead Jay
Damn it.
bh
@stevie314159:
see if i can keep this going….
and if US gets into the quarters look for them to get bogged down against Korea.
PanAmerican
Beautiful free kick puts JPN up 2-0.
Mark S.
The Japanese rule at free kicks!
ColeDBiers
Do they even play soccer in Denmark?
Randy Paul
@bh: This is why Brazil will win. They’re lovers, not fighters. :-)
@ColeDBiers: In 1992, Denmark was added to the Euro 1992 competition in place of Yugoslavia afetr they were booted out because of the war in Bosnia.
They won the competition.
Tokyokie
I keep forgetting that Holland have a virtual home-field advantage with all the Afrikaners rooting for them.
Leeds man
@Tokyokie:
Right. Like Americans root for England.
stevie314159
@Tokyokie:
Oh. Is that why people say soccer is boering?
Nethead Jay
@ColeDBiers: Oh go fsck yourself.
Also, what @Randy Paul: said.
ColeDBiers
@Nethead Jay:
Ok so I guess they do play soccer in Denmark.
Just not very well…
Calouste
@Tokyokie:
Afrikaners are more into rugby than into football.
Calouste
@PanAmerican:
That was an excellent free kick. Close to perfection.

My friend who is going to Brazil next week found out that the Brazilians get let out of work an hour before any match in the World Cup in which Brazil is playing. It’s policy. So they will definitely all be off when (if?) Brazil plays next week.
Stroszek
@ColeDBiers: Don’t know if you’re just trolling or not, but given its size, Denmark has an impressive record in international competition.
Leeds man
Honda is a brilliant player.
Leeds man
@Violet:
So they will definitely all be off when (if?) Brazil plays next week.
No if. If Portugal beat them tomorrow, they’ll finish second at worst.
wrye
Ah, cue the something rotten in the state of Denmark remarks…
Randy Paul
@Leeds man: I think she meant that the people will be off from work if Brazil plays next week
Violet
@Leeds man:
Thanks, I couldn’t remember if Brazil was definitely through or not.
@Randy Paul:
Brazil definitely plays Monday or Tuesday, assuming they get through their group. I just couldn’t remember the standings and if Brazil was definitely through, no matter how they play tomorrow.
SLKRR
@Violet:
Where in Brazil is your friend going to be? São Paulo? Rio? Tomorrow is going to be rocking and next week even more…
Turgid Jacobian
@Leeds man: Honda really is quite something. He was a steal at $6M for CSKA Moscow.
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal (JMN)
@Turgid Jacobian: And it’s okay if he suddenly accelerates without warning.
