This post is in: Republican Stupidity, Flash Mob of Hate

FacebookTweetEmail

Anyone surprised by Sarah Palin sneering at a teacher missed this week’s Republican talking points:

Republicans in the House of Representatives Saturday charged next week’s Democratic-led effort to save an estimated 138,800 teaching jobs and help pay health benefits for low income people amounts to a “political season payoff to union bosses.”

Teachers aren’t Real Americans anymore, just like all other union members, immigrants, children of immigrants, homosexuals, African-Americans and liberals. I’m sure that list is incomplete — perhaps someone should start a site detailing the current objects of hate, because it is hard to keep up.

Also, too: don’t forget that Palin’s dad was a science teacher.

Listening to NPR’s “The TakeAway” on the drive in this morning; one of their guest reporters made the unchallenged comment that the House meeting to vote on the monies to fund those union teachers and fire fighters was a Democratic giveaway to their natural constituency the unions. Really ? My spouse is a teacher; most of her family as well as mine were/are teachers so I’ve met a bunch. About half, or more, seem to be conservative/Republican. Even the Democratic-leaning ones are not necessarily knee-jerk Democratic Party supporters.

Is it because a rational position to take is to support the organization or candidate that most supports your well being and interests that many unions have generally supported a Democratic candidate ? Is that not what a union is supposed to do – work for the interests of its members ? Perhaps if the Republican party would support positions that were not generally anti-worker the unions wouldn’t so often lean Democratic.

/sigh/ Screaming invective at the radio while driving down a wooded country lane; even I thought I was insane…

This is hardly new, though I suppose it has taken it’s way to work itself up from talk radio to Republican congressman. My father informed me of this a few weeks ago, in what I believe may have been our last talk of political issues. I’d already been trying to not discuss anything politics related with him, because it upset him (because I am wrong) and it upset my mother (because it upset my father). This was really what made me stop though.

He started the discussion mentioning congress (or rather, the Democrats) were trying to pass funding for states that would help save teachers, policeman, and fireman. He asked me what all those things had in common. I replied that they were all highly popular public jobs that no one really wanted to see lost. No, I was told, they were all union! I put up a few token arguments but my heart really wasn’t in it. Really, what could I say? We haven’t discussed politics since, and I don’t think we will anytime soon.

When Republicans want to keep the Bush tax cuts, it’s simply a concern for the economy, right?

well, she probably has some kind of love/hate relationship with her creepy father anyway, so that nasty ass eye roll and sneer may have had some deep basis in that……but more likely is that she just hates teachers because they usually impart, you know, knowledge to people. As much as she pulls her kids out of school, it’s clear there is little regard for knowledge at her house.

I heard Chuck Todd last night try to dismiss the idea of saving teachers’ jobs by saying “OK, but what about non-union jobs?”

Apparently now union jobs are just as ‘illegitimate’ as public sector government jobs. They no longer count as ‘real’ jobs.

It’s amazing when you see them pull this trick this right before your eyes. And it’s amazing to me to see how quickly the talking points get disseminated throughout the entire media food chain.

    That stuntman/-woman/-troll wasn’t a teacher — she’s just another PDS liar. She’s a — wait for it — part-time theater tech (STUNNER!) at a high school. “I also have a few other jobs” should’ve been the tip-off for the ever-curious, never-Palin-deranged media.

    ACORN? Non-troversy.
    Rev. Wright? Non-story.
    CRU-Gate? Overblown.
Black Panthers? Nothing to see here.

Sarah Palin may have made a “mean face” at someone who claimed to be a teacher?? RELEASE THE HOUNDS! ABOVE THE FOLD! FULL-COURT PRESS!

Gateway pundit at First Things leads the Lee Atwater smear attack on the teacher.

Since it seems her title at the School is Theatre Tech (teacher), she isn’t really a teacher. Also, since she is directing a production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch(very unambiguously in the link provided by Gateway Pundit), she is now accused of being a member of a gay/tranny/dragqueen band.

Even after posting the very link explaining that she is directing as musical.

The wurlitzer is already running with it. There is no truth and there are no facts. There is only Zool.

    the current objects of hate

    easysauce.
“colored” people, scientists, liberals, homasexshuals, smart people, young people, women(except grizzlie mamas and talking dog bitches), children, atheists and humans of any faith except murrikkan style white conservative xianians and jews (except for self-hating jew ones that vote democratic)..

    teachers are smart people.
conservatives have been biometically engineered to be less intelligent and more white and more xenophobic for a half century.
the demographic timer is going to deliver them an epic asswhupping, but they can’t even begin to talk about that…..because they can’t switch the racism off. They can’t stop IQ baiting either, and the end products of memetic selection for stupid are Bush and Palin.

Bush was so stupid that he didn’t understand that muslims will vote for Islam when they get to vote.
    That is simply epic stupid.
The Bush Doctrine was fail and COIN (scaled down bush doctrine for villages) is fail because both are based on the same epic stupid.
We didnt win…..we can’t win….all we are doing is pouring blood and treasure down a forever wormhole.

    CAN WE GO HOME NAOW?

Palin’s dad was a science teacher.

Did he teach her stuff like:

The earth is flat and the sun revolves around it?

    People lived alongside the dinosaurs?

Or did she become such a stupid idiot all by herself?

    August 10, 2010 at 12:09 pm

@Earl: Her dad gave a commencement speech at a high school this year and it was filled with GOP talking points and the God thing, like praying and Christian teaching in school. So I think he was a teacher in AK only because it paid well (, according to him, than the job he had in Idaho, where they came from) and was a secure job.

No shit, the creepy Redneck Svengali Chuck Heath was a teacher?

    Huh. Wouldn’t have guessed that.

Wow, his daughter is such a lightweight. “Oh, you WANTED me to be your governor!??” Christ.

Speaking of which, the eyeroll and hatred of teachers– at least secular teachers– is a Christian Taliban thing. They “home school” their kids, don’t want them getting any of that secular satanic science or nothing.

Also, there’s another aspect of that too, and the drag thing comes into play too: she may be remarking on the sexual orientation of the protester too, since another Taliban tenet is that teachers and schools push “teh gay agenda” as well.
