Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

“In the future, this lab will be a museum. do not touch it.”

Let’s not be the monsters we hate.

There is no compromise when it comes to body autonomy. You either have it or you do not.

“Loving your country does not mean lying about its history.”

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

Dear media: perhaps we ought to let Donald Trump speak for himself!

’Where will you hide, Roberts, the laws all being flat?’

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

Trump should be leading, not lying.

The press swings at every pitch, we don’t have to.

Usually wrong but never in doubt

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Michigan is a great lesson for Dems everywhere: when you have power…use it!

Optimism opens the door to great things.

At some point, the ability to learn is a factor of character, not IQ.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

T R E 4 5 O N

Giving up is unforgivable.

Republicans do not pay their debts.

Quote tweet friends, screenshot enemies.

There is no right way to do the wrong thing.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

Roe is not about choice. It is about freedom.

Now that Jeffster’s on the road and on the run, maybe they’ll do a cover of The Load-Out.

It’s a little before they’re 80’s-lovin’ heyday, but it’d be awesome to see Jeffster trash that fucker (even though the sappy dork in me secretly kinda likes it (don’t tell anyone else on the internet) despite how sentimental and cliched it is – maybe because Browne actually knew how to write a decent lyric, as opposed to Fogelberg and most of the other self-involved 70’s emo asshats).

    Someone’s gotta find it.

I’ve never seen Chuck, and tonight will find out what the Niners are really about this year.

But I did watch Boardwalk Empire last night. A 4 star, thumbs-up production. Those unfamiliar with its historical personages need only google about them to get up to speed with the story.

At this point, I must have seen Big Jim Colosimo assassinated (while listening to Caruso) in at least a half dozen films. But last night’s version was by far the most poetic. Directed by Scorese, Big Jim’s blood flowing onto-and-across the tile floor was part Godfather, part Goodfella’s montage.

Yeah, it jumped out at me, too. My guess it will set up a “this guy is full of shit” moment by his partner in hijack (and WW1 combat veteran), Jimmy. Or perhaps it was a contrivance by the writers to expose Capone’s sense of bluster.

OK, via Digby, a ‘holy shit’, and a ‘holy friggin’ jeebus fucking cripes my god what have we come to’ capture.

First, Tingly Leg Matthews gets all excited to fit himself into the new GOP dominated Congress:

In response to Eric Boehlert’s assertion that the right wing media has no adult supervision, Chris Matthews said, “what about John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, who have lived their lives in the center?”

Unless he meant the center of Washington DC, geographically, fuck you again, you pathetic fucking dumbass villager asshole. Why don’t you tell us a-fucking-gain what you used to do in Irish-American politics when you were just a working class kid again and how this describes all American politics today?

Also, a Republican New York Congressional candidate specifically, literally endorses the need for EUGENICS to keep all the darkies from infecting our kids and diluting our precious white bodily fluids with their Mandingo / Old Spice sexual allure, which was caused by school integration, as proven by what happens to finches adopted by other species.

There is now afoot a conscious effort to de-Europeanize and to re-Judaize Christianity, through scriptural revision, internal treachery and external pressure.
    __
The importance of applying eugenic measures in the West becomes evident from Richard Lynn’s recent work on Dysgenics and his just-released seminal work Eugenics: A Reassessment.

The problem with this is that some liberal will bring the notion of ‘race’ into it and therefore play the race card to destroy our ability to hold a good conversation about race, and maybe de-integrating the schools and for best effect sterilizing the darkies.

I just hope that Democrats will someday be willing to work for the best interests of the country by learning from the centrists of the other side.
