Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

I’m starting to think Jesus may have made a mistake saving people with no questions asked.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

They love authoritarianism, but only when they get to be the authoritarians.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

This fight is for everything.

Republicans: The threats are dire, but my tickets are non-refundable!

Books are my comfort food!

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

Fight them, without becoming them!

Do we throw up our hands or do we roll up our sleeves? (hint, door #2)

These days, even the boring Republicans are nuts.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

We can’t confuse what’s necessary to win elections with the policies that we want to implement when we do.

“Perhaps I should have considered other options.” (head-desk)

When they say they are pro-life, they do not mean yours.

These are not very smart people, and things got out of hand.

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

Cool video. I will once again put in a request for some swag with some of the rotating tag lines on it. “I personally defeated the Public Option” for instance, or the jackals one.

    Nice.

I watched from beginning to end and observe the bandanna is such a great addition for the average pet.

    Ok, off to the store.

Here, here. Christmas is coming, time to stock up!

I can personally attest that the DIAF mug works equally well for both Earl Grey and Grey Goose. And it’s damn heavy, just in case you need to smack somebody with it.

Why is the fucking music always so goddamned macabre? Put some funk behind that shit, we’re celebrating not attending a Lillith Fair concert while bemoaning the death of rain forests and the ever-growing problem of vajazzling!

Oh, and while we help the four-legged creatures, take a minute this week to remember your local human food shelter and drop off a donation or two. Pretty soon, if the Firebaggers get their way, we’ll soon watch as whatever thread of the social safety net remains is shredded in a gleeful chorus of I TOLD YOU SO’S! when Republicans decide that not only is a minimum wage unconstitutional, so are food stamps, fire protection and actually going out of your way to assist a fellow human who needs it …. just because. We know Jesus would never fucking bend over to help anyone, he was the Jewish Rambo with nitro-tipped spears and a slingshot that never runs out of stones.

A good point made before: give money. Food pantries can get volume discounts. And they know what people need.

Locally, my friend who volunteers says coffee and cereal are what they constantly run out of.

If anyone with the keys to this thing would like to send me a screenshot of https://balloon-juice.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=category , I can make that Wordle that I was talking about earlier this year. A few people expressed interest in buying swag with that on it.
