Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

White supremacy is terrorism.

You can’t attract Republican voters. You can only out organize them.

Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn.

This really is a full service blog.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Only Democrats have agency, apparently.

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

The arc of history bends toward the same old fuckery.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

This has so much WTF written all over it that it is hard to comprehend.

Consistently wrong since 2002

Just because you believe it, that doesn’t make it true.

Bad news for Ron DeSantis is great news for America.

Red lights blinking on democracy’s dashboard

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

Republicans are radicals, not conservatives.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

A sufficient plurality of insane, greedy people can tank any democratic system ever devised, apparently.

Roe isn’t about choice, it’s about freedom.

Why is it so hard for them to condemn hate?

Raiders-Chargers blacked out again, partly because the Raiders are terrible, and partly because times are tough’n prices are outrageous for NFL football.

When I was a whippersnapper, right–before the country went to hell–every Stabler-Fouts game was of course always on, and it was great football. Now the Raiders are like the Democrats.

There. Now I feel much older.

According to Cable this is the day the Raiders take personal responsibility and man up. Whatever that means.

It’s a sad day an intra-division game is only going to draw about 25K at the old yard in Oaktown, to wax a bit poetic for a moment… growing up we were definitely working poor and my mom could still afford season tickets to da Raiders.

    Oh how things have changed.

Raiders are going to get smoked by the by… which I believe will make it 14 in a row for the Bolts.

Don’t take that ‘miserable Lions’ wrong. I’ve lived in the Detroit area. I’m watching the game and cheering on the Lions. But, ‘miserable’ certainly applies for a team that is 3-37 in their last 40 games.

It’s become clear in the first 4 games that these aren’t the Lions of the last few years. They’ve battled injuries and bad calls and have still fought hard and been competitive. They are definitely on the road to recovery.

The sellout is especially significant considering there were more than 100,000 people at the MSU-UM game yesterday. It’s not like people are starving for football around here.

And, nobody thought Oakland would beat San Diego when I was at the Coliseum watching them get beat by Houston last week. Glad to see them win one. Next week against the 9ers should be interesting.
