As a Lions fan, I never have big games…
paradox
Raiders-Chargers blacked out again, partly because the Raiders are terrible, and partly because times are tough’n prices are outrageous for NFL football.
When I was a whippersnapper, right–before the country went to hell–every Stabler-Fouts game was of course always on, and it was great football. Now the Raiders are like the Democrats.
There. Now I feel much older.
r€nato
Cards are going to get slaughtered by the Saints. Back to the same old, same old. *sigh*
Kurt Warner, are you *sure* you want to stay retired?
Damned at Random
today I’m rooting for not the Ravens. Go Broncs
mellowjohn
nah, just the bears.
You Don't Say
Go Chiefs!
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
Go
Lions!Red Wings!Jeff
The Pack is back for a chance to open up a lead on the Bears.
Joel
That’s great, but who are the Chefs?
Max
I really need the Broncos to win today – football pool wise.
Other than that…. the Bills make me sad. :(

what r€nato said.
The Patriots are off, but the Cardinals (I will be at the game, way up in the Uecker seats) are starting … well .. see my new user name.
Andy K
Well, that should be the end of the Packers’ Pat Lee experiment running back kicks….And then Donald Lee fumbles it away…And Findley limps off the field…Ugh…
Omnes Omnibus
@Andy K: That is one ugly start to a game. Dammit.
Andy K
And now Pickett? WTF?!?!
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
The Bears just scored an offensive touchdown.
Andy K
@That’s Master of Accountancy to You, Pal:
I’m sure it was.
Andy K
Green Bay, we have a running game.
Omnes Omnibus
@Andy K: Holy crap. I have been waiting for that.
tulip
According to Cable this is the day the Raiders take personal responsibility and man up. Whatever that means.
It’s a sad day an intra-division game is only going to draw about 25K at the old yard in Oaktown, to wax a bit poetic for a moment… growing up we were definitely working poor and my mom could still afford season tickets to da Raiders.
Oh how things have changed.
Raiders are going to get smoked by the by… which I believe will make it 14 in a row for the Bolts.
General Stuck
Does anyone have a link to stream the Atlanta/Browns game?
Andy K
@Max:
Sorry, Max. I think of you every time I see a Bills’
highlowlight.That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
@Andy K: The Bears just became even more offensive.
Just Some Fuckhead
@General Stuck: Here.
morzer
@That’s Master of Accountancy to You, Pal:
Maybe they need a self-cleaning litter-box?
General Stuck
@Just Some Fuckhead:
Why thank you fuckhead. You are my hero today.

@Jeff: At the moment, I wouldn’t count on gaining any ground on the Bears.
Edit: You may well gain ground on the Lions, though. I’m sure that’s something you’re concerned about.
mellowjohn
holy moley, the bears look like an actual football team, running the ball and everything!
Corner Stone
Texans are playing like shit. Just complete shit. M-F’ers.
The Giants are not this good you fucking schmoes.
Max
@Andy K: I’m smiling a little right now. But, I’m sure they’ll blow it.
Denver is making me sad right now.
John - A Motley Moose
Win or lose today, the miserable 0-4 Lions are sold out and on tv.
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
Wow. When was the last time the Lions were ahead by 14 points at any time during a game?
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
@John – A Motley Moose: Detroit is an amazing sports town. Some may choose to view this particular instance as resulting from a combination of stupidity and insanity, though.
Omnes Omnibus
Green Bay started quick, but the offense has slowed down.
asiangrrlMN
Fuck the fucking Yankees. Oh, and go not-the-Packers, not-the-Lions, and not-the-bears.
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
@asiangrrlMN: If you’re worried about the Lions, it means you aren’t making the playoffs.
asiangrrlMN
FYWP.
@asiangrrlMN: …not-the-Bears. Wouldn’t want to short the Bears their capital.
If someone would produce a, “Go anyone but the FTFY” t-shirt, I would be all over it. Or rather, it would be all over me.
And, I would so take McNabb as a quarterback next year.
@That’s Master of Accountancy to You, Pal: Not so much worried as just an issuing of a general statement.

Mmmm Italian Beef sandwiches. Tasty, but it became clear to me I need a meat slicer.
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
@asiangrrlMN: No one is buying you a shirt if it means you aren’t going to go topless.
Andy K
@That’s Master of Accountancy to You, Pal:
Hey, the way they’ve been playing in the past few weeks, combined with a beatable opponent…How many tickets did the metro-Detroit Ford dealers buy to avoid the blackout?
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
@Andy K: 800, but it was a furniture store.
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
This just in: Calvin Johnson is pretty good.
Corner Stone
Just haven’t seen a wors half of football by the Texans in a long time.
WTF? Texans??
asiangrrlMN
@debit: Oh my god that looks so damn good I could eat the whole damn thing.
@That’s Master of Accountancy to You, Pal: Ha! That’s funny. Then maybe the NYT will do a profile of me!
JPL
Atlanta does not look so good.
JenJen
Warm, gorgeous, fun day in Cincinnati! At Bengals now, then the tailgate starts anew in preparation for Phillies-Reds Game 3.
To add to the downtown festival atmosphere, Disney on Ice is taking place as I type this. Word on the street is Pooh Bear might attempt the elusive Quadruple Axle.
JenJen +3 and it’s early
John - A Motley Moose
@That’s Master of Accountancy to You, Pal:
Don’t take that ‘miserable Lions’ wrong. I’ve lived in the Detroit area. I’m watching the game and cheering on the Lions. But, ‘miserable’ certainly applies for a team that is 3-37 in their last 40 games.
It’s become clear in the first 4 games that these aren’t the Lions of the last few years. They’ve battled injuries and bad calls and have still fought hard and been competitive. They are definitely on the road to recovery.
The sellout is especially significant considering there were more than 100,000 people at the MSU-UM game yesterday. It’s not like people are starving for football around here.
debit
@asiangrrlMN: Heh. We’re attempting to put a dent in it. I used the recipe here and am pretty happy with how it turned out, but I used a sirloin instead of rump. Now I want a nap.
Andy K
@That’s Master of Accountancy to You, Pal:
Art Van?
JPL
@JenJen: Have fun. And in honor of Phillies love of Vick, I’ll cheer for Cincy.
asiangrrlMN
@debit: And you can as the Vikes don’t play until tomorrow night!
That's Master of Accountancy to You, Pal
How bad are the Rams to be down 25 points to the Lions?
asiangrrlMN
@That’s Master of Accountancy to You, Pal: Really fucking bad.
@Andy K: Hey, I clicked on your username. May I be a libertine and scarlet woman simultaneously?
Omnes Omnibus
@asiangrrlMN: The Lions are not as bad a team as they once were. Good teams have had real trouble with them, and they will bite someone in the ass at some point this season.
Corner Stone
Jeebus. 8 minutes into the 3rd Q and the Texans have their first TD.
Fucking brutal.
asiangrrlMN
@Omnes Omnibus: Probably the Vikes. At the Dome. Because that’s just the way we roll. Oh, and nothing personal against the Pack. I actually like them. Shhhhh!
@Corner Stone: Ouch.
Andy K
@asiangrrlMN:
Didn’t the Vikes beat the Lions at the Dome two or three weeks ago?
asiangrrlMN
@Andy K: Yes. Oh, crap. I read that as next season. Never mind, then.
morzer
Shaun Hill is repaying my faith in him. That may be about the only fantasy football success of my season, but it induces a warm glow nonetheless.
Andy K
@asiangrrlMN:
Whatever floats your boat, Duchess.
Andy K
@Andy K:
Okay, I’m not being allowed to edit that last comment, but I’ve got to add that I think Sherman might be working up something related to this.
morzer
Might be an interesting last few minutes for the Packers.
Yutsano
@That’s Master of Accountancy to You, Pal: Ugh. The salt from that wound isn’t coming out any time soon. Losing to the fucking Lambs. Damn Seachickens. At least they’re off this week.
Corner Stone
Stupid fucking Texans. Look like a high school team against the hapless Cowboys, now roll over for a sub-mediocre Giants team.
What a fucking joke of a performance.
morzer
Well, Packers/Redskins is going to overtime….
Go Redskins!
asiangrrlMN
@Andy K: You link me to AA with no warning? For that, I better be your goddamn QUEEN! I’m gonna bookmark your site and peruse it at my leisure. I am actually thinking of starting a little political blog, and I want to see what’s out there.
@morzer: Gooooooo not-Packers! Like I said, I would take McNabb next year.
Lots of Pack fans in D.C.
asiangrrlMN
Oh, SNAP! Nice interception, not-Packers!
@morzer: Pending review, of course.
morzer
And Rodgers throws a pick and gives the Washington Politically Incorrects great field position!
JenJen
Ha ha, my Bengals suck.
Oh well, one down, one to go. Back to the tailgate, and go Reds in Game 3! No sweeps!
JenJen still +3 (pacing myself)
morzer
@asiangrrlMN:
Well, the interception stands, and he’s down by contact. 39 yard line….
asiangrrlMN
@JenJen: Vikes did not lose today!
@morzer: Yep. And the march kinda goes on. Oooh, defensive holding! Gooooo, not-Packers!
Holy shit. The Pack defense is imploding! Ka-BOOM!
And, god, do I hate Joe Buck with the blue-hot intensity of an eleven-billionty suns.
morzer
Thanks for the free five yards, Green Bay!
Andy K
I don’t usually do this…But that was a HORRIBLE interference call. Tangled feet does not interference make.
morzer
@asiangrrlMN:
Pure luck, surely?
morzer
And the Packers D starts to panic….
asiangrrlMN
@Andy K: How about the second one?
@morzer: Heh. They play on Monday if that tells you anything.
@morzer: Bwahahahahahaha. Suck it.
Wa-hooooo! Way to go, not-Packers!
morzer
@asiangrrlMN:
I wouldn’t put it past the Vikes to lose a game they weren’t playing….
Andy K
Shit.
Later.
morzer
Thank you, Mr Gano! Yay for the Redskins!
Admiral_Komack
RAIDERS WIN!
Grisha
RAIDERS WIN!

Chargers–Worst. Special. Teams. EVER.
jc
Damn 49ers. Even when I get just a bit of hope, taken away almost immediately.
this is going to be one long season.
KC
49ers–a team that makes Buffalo look good. Despite their disappointing loss, I’ll give up a win by them for an SF Giants playoff win any day.
And, nobody thought Oakland would beat San Diego when I was at the Coliseum watching them get beat by Houston last week. Glad to see them win one. Next week against the 9ers should be interesting.
