Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The world has changed, and neither one recognizes it.

The republican ‘Pastor’ of the House is an odious authoritarian little creep.

Prediction: the gop will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

Republicans: The threats are dire, but my tickets are non-refundable!

You come for women, you’re gonna get your ass kicked.

This year has been the longest three days of putin’s life.

Not all heroes wear capes.

No one could have predicted…

It’s a good piece. click on over. but then come back!!

The republican speaker is a slippery little devil.

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

We can’t confuse what’s necessary to win elections with the policies that we want to implement when we do.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

I’d like to think you all would remain faithful to me if i ever tried to have some of you killed.

When we show up, we win.

fuckem (in honor of the late great efgoldman)

The Supreme Court cannot be allowed to become the ultimate, unaccountable arbiter of everything.

Not so fun when the rabbit gets the gun, is it?

Authoritarian republicans are opposed to freedom for the rest of us.

When I decide to be condescending, you won’t have to dream up a fantasy about it.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

Their boy Ron is an empty plastic cup that will never know pudding.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

Let me file that under fuck it.

Congratulations! We hit our 50k goal on ActBlue. I’ve upped the goal to 75k!

Goal Thermometer

*** Update ***

Well, I updated it, but the code is still showing 50k. I’m gonna go out on a limb and blame Rahm.

You can’t blame Rahm. We are finally rid of him. Good on Google for green wind farms!

It’s showing 75k now. I think updates just take a few minutes to pass through. Which leads us to…

    AWWWWW, man, more homework?!

I try to think of it as the storm before the earthquake, no pain, no gain. That funky bird can’t rise from peaches and cream.

Hey, Eric Erickson endorsed Tom Tancredo for governor today and then on Twitter called Obama’s call for the revelation of US Chamber of Commerce donors the same thing as asking to see Obama’s birth certificate! No rest for the wicked, indeed!

The President has shown his Birth Certificate.

O/T: Can someone at BJ give me some advice on voting? I’ve got an absentee ballot as I live abroad (originally from NY). When I look at the ballot I see Schumer and Gillibrand listed as the Dem candidates, but also as the Independence Party and Working Families Party candidates. Does it help either of these parties to vote for Schumer and Gillibrand by ticking those parties’ boxes instead of the Dems? Or does it detract from the total Dem votes? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but civics was never a strong subject for me. (And the fact that I had to take a civics class will also probably give my age away …)

@losingtheplot: It can help WFP (or the independence party) in 2 ways. a)Vote totals are broken down by party, so NY candidates can see where their support is and b)parties in NY have to get a certain number of votes (50K I think) to show up the next time on the ballot.

You must have known my old sales manager. =)

“Good going, BFO! That last big sale put you over your quota for Q2, so I’m upping it for Q3! Now get your feet off the desk and get your ass on the road, you got targets to hit.”

Truly, no rest for the wicked.
