Impeaching Obama is blase. They did it with Clinton. If you really want to impress the wing-nut base, you have to find a way to remove Obama from office, remove the Biden from office, so the next President will be the Republican Speaker of the House.
Like any attempt at the crazy, you have to keep upping the ante or else your audience will get bored with the same-old, same-old.
I’m not saying Congressional Republicans wouldn’t try. I’m just saying they won’t impress their base, unless they are able to take impeachment a step further and remove a sitting President.
I can see the freeper posts about how useless impeachment is because the stinkin’ Democrat President gets to still be in office, and calls for Constitutional amendments to make it easier to remove Democrats from office.
I mean unless they do make it easier to impeach and remove Presidents from office, I don’t think the GOP base will get excited if they keep trying this after Obama.

@Davis X. Machina: Your list of the active races reminded me… One thing I haven’t quite understood this whole cycle is why no one tried very hard to sock it to Chuck Grassley, the guy who did more than anyone else to ruin the health care bill, who’s running in the state that made Obama Obama against a cool woman named Roxanne Conlin. Instead the biggest blogosphere activist effort was against Blanche Lincoln, who is, no lie, incredibly sucktastic… but why not change the game a little bit by playing the bold progressive card in Iowa, a state that has actually elected progressives? Mystifying to me.
I received a robo-call from John Raese today. Seems the West Virginia candidate with the out of state house in his name, the out of state wife, and kids that attend out of state schools, can’t find an instate business to do his campaign calls.

The government should create several databases of information regarding the rules and regulations of various institutions so that political activists who are interested in recommending a certain course of action to their elected officials so as to enact specific policy agendas, they can be sure that such actions are legal.
This would be especially critical for the U.S. Senate, since it seems to be the institution that is the focus of most people’s attention.
They should put this database on the internet, and give it a URL that is easy to remember.

The BBC has had wonderful coverage of the miners’ rescue. (For Spanish speakers, BBC Mundo just mainly gives the feed.)
President Pinera gave a speech which was actually quite good. Remember, it was only last year that Santiago and surrounding areas were hit by a massive quake and then the nearby coasts were hit by a tsunami.
Oh, my. I did in fact miss that – like I said I’m generally not watching them.

My problem isn’t that the show sucks, it’s more that no one seemed to bother to think about whether it might not.
@The Disgruntled Chemist: It was probably Parker. I doubt Spitzer would have said that. Spitzer is a pretty progressive guy, though he has authoritarian tendencies, obviously. And yes, the hooker problem is a strike against him too.

While there were some residual problems, there has not been pain in 16 years and that site. I had reached the point where I could be semi-active only for about 7 hours and that kept shrinking too. I had the most hilarious phone call with some schmuck from the DNC today. I had volunteered to do voter protection, and he was calling to verify my information and to see if I was still available. He verified my name, address, phone number, occupation, and then asks me, “Do you speak English?” My only response to that question was obnoxious, braying laughter.

Wiki has an excellent, concise article on the San Jose mine accident — history of mining in Chile, history of the mine itself, geology and up-to-the-minute news on the rescue and current condition of the miners.
That’s obviously bad, but has nothing to do with sex workers.
It has a lot to do with it because he was able to blackmail them because sex work is illegal and he could have them arrested and thrown in jail.
That, frankly, is what I find disgusting about Spitzer — at the exact same time that he was crusading against prostitution and sending sex workers to jail, he was hiring them on the side with the (sometimes implied, sometimes not) threat that if they told anyone, he would send them to jail, too. It takes a pretty sick person to do that.

Gotta love the firebaggers. They are learning to cover the anti Obama battlefield from every direction with clown grenades.
Earlier we had Glenn and Taylor Marsh, amongst others on the Obama is too mean to wingnuts front, concerning his bonging the Chamber of fucking Commerce, or wingnut central command. And on the Obama is a weiny giving aid and comfort to the wingers undercutting dems campaign message, we have Jon Walker whining about a boilerplate answer Obama gave when asked about what if the wingers take back the House.. Pretty soon Jane will chime in and call him a homophobe, like you know who. It’s an all out assault of ass backwardness, and reminds me of in HS, when one of our guys recovered the other teams fumble and raced for the winning touchdown. Only problem was it was in our endzone and ended up being a safety. Not the good kind of safety.
I agree. he’s is my kind of Democrat–smart, well prepared, and funny. But…I’ve gotta say, (speaking as an AA woman who usually doesn’t care about such trivial matters) Mr. Coons has an extremely… awkward … last name.

@PurpleGirl: Thanks a ton for your input. My wife is in your camp: surgery now.
But I’m a bit more conservative…which is funny as I am registered Democratic voter and she’s a Republican that votes sometimes (a sensible one, she voted Obama and will not vote for Raese). MY GP, new neurosurgeon, and a casual mention to my children’s pediatrician, have all said go conservative and wait out surgery.
I am losing weight via dietary restrictions to treat high cholesterol and high triglycerides, but I need to strengthen my core where all my back ailments lie. I worked a lot a back breaking jobs from adolescence on, but lately with finishing my degree, certification, and being a stay at home Dad, I have become a noodle with a small gut (6′ 01″, 215).
I wanna work on this physically and deal with the pain before surgery. That’s just me.

@Mnemosyne: I heard about him paying huge amounts of money. I didn’t hear about him blackmailing people. That’s obviously bad, but has nothing to do with sex workers.

On the topic of Christine O’Donnell, I’m shamelessly blogwhoring for my latest populist design, striking a blow against Christine O’Donnell’s Delaware Senate campaign. Everyone should join.

@James K. Polk, Esq.:
I registered seven. In Spanish, no less. (Considering how poorly I speak my native language, I was pretty damn pleased with myself for being able to converse in a different one.)

@MikeJ:

Someone needs to do a what’s-the-frequency-kenneth on Tom Brokaw for that idiotic comparison between the word whore and the N-word in last nights CA Governor debate.
What’s hilarious to me is Fox News pushing the equivalency while having it’s anchors utter the word whore, when they would never utter the n-word.

@Art: Google “The Egoscue Method.”
worked great for me.

@WereBear (itouch):
Second the recommendation on Pete Egoscue, in particular Pain Free: A Revolutionary Method for Stopping Chronic Pain. Amazon link here.
In short: four or five simple, no-stress exercises that help with the alignment problems that lead to back pain, etc. But much more than that, too.
