Even skimming that destroyed some brain cells. You have to read that as if you’re trying to get a snowmobile over an open patch of water. Slow down for a second and you’re in trouble.

I think it’s snark, people. It’s repeating every myth about Democratic civil war we’ve been hearing nonstop across the media since the 2008 primaries, and pretending this is new and secret information.
If I listened to Rush or Glenn, I’d probably recognize a lot of this as their words too.
It’s a little too subtle to be funny, but it’s interesting to see all those media narratives in one place. Note how Alinsky and Jeremiah Wright are worked in there too.
I’m still not sure who Alinsky is or why the right wingers wanted to get their base mad about him.
Citizen Alan
Every time he used the word RAAAACIST, it reminded me of the Invader Zim episode “Germs” where the fast food cook starts talking about SPAAAAACE MEAT.

I gave up after about 8 paragraphs. I wanted to say to the author “OK OK I get it! You sound like a German Communist circa 1932, saying “Nach HItler, uns” (after Hitler, us). You would give Sarah Palin control of the nuclear button? And you claim to love America?”
Reading some of the comments made me physically ill. I’ve been in something like despair lately over the future of this country, which I fear is no long my country. If this mood is typical of more than a few hysterical poor losers, we are truly doomed.
I am in my 70s and probably will not outlive my reasonably comfortable circumstances. But a have a grand-daughter age 3 1/2. Fortunately, her father is going to do very well and so she will be spared the worst. But when climate change and resource shortage really hit (my guess is 30-50 years from now) she will have to pay through the nose for clean water, wear a breathing mask, and hire armed guards to walk outside her door. The vast majority of humans will be struggling for sheer animal survival, and the few will spend most of their time defending their privileges from all the rest. (In Wells’ “Time Machine” this was hundreds of thousands of years in the future. I can see it here in mere hundreds or less.)
I was in Venezuala in 1960, and saw a million+ people living on a mountainside in tar-paper shacks (at best), while at the university where my business took me I was told by more than one well-dressed student that “those people want to live that way”. If there are not some radical changes in attitude, that day will come here (of course in certain circles it is here already). Hobbes “natural” state is coming to a society near us, and a$$holes like this poor whining lost boy are bringing it closer…and he will be one of the ones that gets hurt most. He should be is trying on his pink triangle any day now (I’ve got my yellow star ready to go.)

This is simply a phenomenal display of absurdity. My favorite section, though, is when he goes from writing this:
And then one paragraph later, he follows it up with this:
What in the fuck does this even mean?!
This is somehow not about Hillary, even though it’s posted on a site entitled HillBuzz, featuring a picture of the writer posing with Hillary at the top of the page, with a caption stating “When Obama and the DNC attacked Hillary and her supporters, they permanently alienated tens of millions of us from the party. I know for a fact I am not the only guy with a picture like this on his wall who is working every day to bring down the Obama White House and Democrat Party,” and paragraph after paragraph talking about how May 31st, 2008 is a date that every Hillary supporter knows exceptionally well?
Okay, I guess we’ll take your word for it, Kevin…

Got NO time for (apparent – I could not bring myself to read past the first paragraph after seeing how long the post was) crap such as this. My conservative brother told me in August that Hillary would not be Sec State by Labor Day 2010. She was going to leave her job to start her primary run against Obama. It is a Republican wet dream to see Democrats divided again between Hillary and Obama. They’ve got nothing, and they know it. Hence they hang their hopes on the other side f’ing itself. As a few here have noted, the immediate “tell” for me was the poke-in-the-eye use of “Democrat” in place of “Democratic”.
I only skimmed quickly through this piece of shyte, and that jumped out at me right away – he does it over and over.
Assuming this asshole ever was a Democrat, it’s interesting to juxtapose his descent into darkness with our esteemed host’s Road to Damascus awakening.
Sadly, I have one (now former) good friend who became a fascist (after having been a fairly liberal Democrat going back to the ‘80s) right about the time Mr. Cole was seeing the light. The last time we spoke (a couple years ago) I just said, “Really, you waited till the horrible presidency of W to become a Republican? Really?” Passes understanding, it does. His now ex-wife (after over 20 years of marriage) remains a liberal Democrat, and though that may not be the main reason for their breakup, I know (because he told me) that it became a point of contention between the two.
People can just be strange.

Like everyone else, my jaw dropped at this. I knew there were some bitter PUMAs out there, but this is so far gone with wingnut claims, you do have to wonder if the whole “I was a lifelong Democrat” thing is bullshit.
The funniest part is the claim of how many veteran Dems voted for McCain. Considering Barack’s more than healthy 7.25% margin, the only supposition I can make is that, if not for these usually Democratic votes swinging, Obama would have had the greatest landslide in American history.

I bet this letter caused a small explosion somewhere in the space-time continuum, because reality was trying so hard to make sense of these ideas.
Strange how the sanest person in the comments on the hillbuzz site is someone who gets up and says “You guys do realize that the Clintons… (Alinsky, Impeachment, Murdered my cat, yadda yadda yadda)” while everyone else cheers on how much they really would have loved to have had Hillary as president instead.

LGBT is ~5%. I’ve seen estimates as high as 8, but nothing in the 15 range. Jewish is ~2%, AA is ~12%, Hispanic is ~15%. I’d put the non-crazy percentage of the white population at ~30% (of white population, which is ~68%), multiplies out to ~20% of total. Though we are likely double counting LGBT/Jewish pop at this point.. Gives us ~53%. Woot!
Numbers are stupid and fun.
I just like how he had to categorize “self-hating Jews” and “low-information gays” but not blacks or hispanics. I assume he already has a low enough opinion of them that further characterization is unnecessary…

No, no. I call bullshit. Look at the top story on the front page:

That’s not a whackjob wingnut PUMA. That’s strategy is what that is. I take my hat off to him.

And where they hell is the evidence that the tea party is bi-partisan. WTF?
Doug Schoen’s most recent venture is writing a “aren’t they the greatest movement ever” book about the tea party with Scott Rasmussen. That should tell you something. In addition to being a FoxNews, “see, even the Democratic pollster Doug Schoen agrees!” assneck, he’s trying to sell his book. This poll is completely BS and self-serving. @Poopyman: You folks wondering if this is snark – it isn’t. Hillbuzz, along with the insane Larry Johnson, has been at the forefront of the very small and very, very crazy PUMA movement since it became clear that Obama was going to win the nomination. This, sadly, is very real and indicative of the tinfoil hat world in which these morons reside.
I actually have personal experience with a PUMA. My wife’s best friend was a Bush-hating allegedly liberal Democrat for – at least – the 8-years I knew her before the last presidential election. Then she lost it after Obama won the nomination. No amount of explaining by my wife – also a Hillary supporter but a sane Democrat who voted for Obama even though she wasn’t crazy about him because, well, look at the alternatives! – that Hillary believed in the opposite of everything Saint Sarah and the tea baggers stand for will change her mind. I’ve since come to realize that while she likes to pretend she knows stuff, she doesn’t know shit. She just repeats talking points that she hears on Fox. I guess she was repeating Dem talking points before 2008 but I didn’t really notice because I agreed with her.
The other and also likely explanation for her irrational and illogical turn to the right is she will never, ever, forgive that uppity nigger (she’s from Louisiana – the racist hate of Obama is very, very strong there) for beating her girl.
At least I don’t have to listen to her rantings…and my wife has refused to talk about politics with her any longer because she doesn’t want their friendship to end. She used to talk to me all the time about politics. I haven’t spoken to her in 18-months – maybe even two-years – about anything. And it’s because she knows I will destroy all of her silly FNC talking points in 30 seconds. (although when my wife does the same thing she – my wife’s friend – just denies the validity of the facts presented)
Sad, delusional people, those PUMAs.

This is what happens when you link to a Hillary supporter who thinks the administration that she’s a major part of is bad and the right-wing radio host who’s spent decades villifying her is good — the whole site bends to the right now.
Cris
By the way, for everybody talking about the writer’s use of “Democrat Party:” he does explain himself, saying that he deliberately uses the term because the party is “no longer Democratic.”
Yes, I read that far. Not sure how I held my breath that long.

And now? Better? Isn’t it enough that Hamquist and the Firebaggers slant to the right?

Can’t you just put a close italics tag in like this… ? Test

I see this as part of a larger process. A seven-step process, to be precise.
1) PUMA Loser finds that all of his credibility with mainstream Democrats has begun to resemble month-old roadkill.
2) Independents look at PUMA Loser with a somewhat perplexed stare, sort of like how a dog will look at its owner while the latter masturbates in a bowl of lime Jello. “So, you’re saying that Obama is a mega liberal socialist and Hillary isn’t? Huh?” Thus PUMA Loser’s seed finds no purchase in Independent soil.
3) PUMA Loser begins to smell the sweet, sweet stench of the wingnut gravy train. Thinks that he can get in on that action. Formulates a fool-proof plan.
4) PUMA Loser declares that he is now, after considerable deliberation, a conservative. Hoocoodanoode! He gets a shithead with a pill habit and a microphone to say his name over the radio.
5) PUMA Loser collects underpants.
6) …
7) Profit!

If y’all want to know why For Profit schools need regulating, watch this Frontline video:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/collegeinc/view/?utm_campaign=viewpage&utm_medium=grid&utm_source=grid
Tuition is much higher than other schools, but students are tricked into signing up for something they can’t afford. Once you have student loans, you can never get rid of them in bankruptcy. Students who have no business applying get sucked in and end up ruined for life. The degrees can be worthless, i.e. providing nursing students with practicals at day care centers and nursing homes instead of hospitals. It’s the wild west out there right now.
Capri Sun-Bagger
OK, after reading the synopsis of the plot of Alias, I have come to the conclusion that it is slightly more stupid than that open letter, although no less contrived.

‘butthurt’ doesn’t even begin. if they’re right and the one thing hillary would really want is for these chumps to destroy the democratic party completely and hand the whole country over to the GOP then they’re just proving that obama was the right pick all along.
Capri Sun-Bagger
Has anyone actually read Rules for Radicals? I mean people make Alinsky sound like he was the gangbang lovechild of Mao, Che, Stalin, and Cruella de Ville (Trotsky wouldn’t even hit that with the Tsar’s dick).
NB: He wasn’t, and my take on RFR is that it is very work-within-the-system radical, not burn-it-down radical. Ohhhhhhhh, scaaaaary!

I find it hard to believe they were Hillary Clinton supporters and they listen to Rush. Rush was the one who pushed the whole FemNazi mem. Maybe they were supporters of a woman president but any kind of liberal, no. That’s hogwash up there with evangelicals who say they were ex-atheists.

Take out the few sentences in which this choad claims, “I used to be a Democrat!” and his screed reads pretty much exactly like the comments section at Blogsfor

Shame the blogger is doing everything they can to make sure Rush’s party gets in power.

What they are doing is seriously weird and creepy malpolitics, if you ask me. Same if anyone did the same with Obama.
Or, as old white duffers are doing with Palin.
Silly, and a loser approach to politics, IMHO.

I think Hilary may well make another run for it, in 2016, and I hope she does.
But the idea that she would hurt Obama and divide the Democrats by running in 2012 is ridiculous.
And I agree with OGLiberal (128) that there may well be a lot of racisim at the heart of the irrational Democratic opposition to Obama.
MaryRC
@Aet: It can’t be a spoof because this guy (Kevin Dujan of Hillbuzz) has been spewing this stuff out more or less daily for the past year, if not more. But it’s a toss-up to me as to whether he really is completely daft, or whether he may be ratcheting up the outrageous a notch or two more than he really believes. He seems to want Ann Coulter’s turf. He’ll say anything for attention and the money it can bring and look, he has Rush talking about him now. Just what he wanted.

I left a comment there: “If I had known electing Obama would drive moronic twits like you out of the party, I’d have donated even more to his campaign.” Given the complete absence of critical comments, I suspect mine won’t make it through moderation.

I read Rules for Radicals in high school. Pretty tame stuff. Can’t believe that it’s now become Dr. Evil’s Recipe for Raping Miss Liberty. (Which should be italicized, but well….)
kommrade reproductive vigor
No. He’s not a spoof. He’s a unhinged liar. Seriously, check out his detailed accounts of the Glenn Beck rally. He either wasn’t here or he spent the weekend passed out in a hotel room (paid for by the simps who are so desperate for a gay friend they picked this train wreck) who is probably writing a 100,000 response to this article (complete with made up anecdotes and references to defunct TV shows) at this very moment.
Yes. I would define this as a win because there’s a very good chance the GOP or some fuckwit like Flush will make this demented puddle of curdled goat jizz into the Ex-Democrat poster boy.
And then they’ll have to deal with his crazy ass.
And we’ll get to watch as they slowly realize their horrible mistake and try to shake the nasty little hound who won’t stop humping their leg.
Also2: From what I’ve seen, he’s too much of a feminist to pull his cyberstalking shit on guys directly. Guys who discuss their wives/girlfriends on blogs and women should be careful.
Bill Arnold
I choose to believe that it is satire, and that it is unclear whether it was written by a left or right side satirist.
Do we really live in an America where people like this exist?
priscianus jr
It’s a psyop. The whole PUMA thing is a psyop. Not that some of these characters aren’t totally serious, but they’re obviously demented and they’re being used. It’s worth a few wry chuckles, but don’t give it more importance than it deserves. There’s a civil war going on within the Democratic Party all right — a handful of deranged Pumas versus everyone else.

@kommrade reproductive vigor: See, this is what makes me inclined to think that he’s not serious, just a grifter. If you really, seriously believed in that tea-bagger BS, wouldn’t you want to show up at Beck’s rally, have photos taken of you in your flag t-shirt holding up your racist sign, and blog and tweet the hell out of the thing?
Here’s what he did: Begs his crowd for money to send him to the rally. Begs for more money for his “friends” to attend (no evidence that these friends exist, other than his use of “we”). Sends a single short post back from the rally saying gee, what a crowd, sorry if we’re not able to meet up with you, we’ll tweet if our batteries hold out. Tweets a few general comments. Returns from the rally and posts another short comment saying gee, that was fun, what was your experience like? They suck it up, too; not a whisper of a doubt that he was there surfaces in their (moderated) comments.
Tell me he’s not laughing at them. Even his imaginary friends are laughing at them.

@MaryRC: Did he take down the long-assed post about the slumber party on the National Mall (??!) and being invited to the Marine Museum (??) in D.C.?
If he had twitted a couple of times I would be inclined to say just a grifter. But he wasted a lot of words on flat out fiction that he didn’t need to make up. I think he’s a wanna be cult leader. He rips off his flock and lies to them because he believes he’s serving a higher purpose by doing so.
Awesome. I nominate “Kevin Dujan’s Imaginary Friends are Laughing At You” as the new tag for all things PUMA related.

How about this . Does that work?

Shorter Kevin Dujan
I am an attention seeking wingnut blogger just looking to be called out by Rush Limbaugh (again) so that you good Conservatives can donate money to taking down “leftists”, stalking other bloggers and buying a new website again. Please remember donate to me and not the GOP because only I can deliver those 18 million votes. And no I’m not really a racist conspiracy theory spreading, smear merchant , really. No, really. Give me your $$$s to show just how much you lurve America.
The BigotBasher
Don’t be shocked if Dujan uses your blog as an example of a big leftist plot to destroy him which will of course require Conservative blogs from across the US to donate to him to show just how much they love America.

What, he doesn’t mention Citizens United? They made a whole movie about Hillary, maybe you heard of it? I would think they would at least make the list.
The BigotBasher
@Hedges Ahead:
You are assuming that there is some shred of reason in Dujan and that he really is upset about the “sexism” etc of the Primaries. There is no such reason. He does not care about Hillary. She is a useful tool to differentiate him from however many thousands of angry right wing blogs. It works, it gets him plugged by Rush.
He does not care about Palin, Republicans or anything like that. He cares about the donate button at the top of his site. The louder he shouts, the more Rush approves. The more Rush approves, the more times that paypal button gets pressed.
Simple really. In some ways I wish I thought of the idea.
BlackLadders
Kevin Dujan is a racist pig who is, as others have noted above, is using Hillary Clinton as a tool to differentiate himself from the other crazy right-wingers on the web.
He wrote a 6000+ word essay that was supposedly about the suicide at Rutgers but was an excuse to trot out his mantras about the left trying to “destroy” or “crush” or “anihilate” him, and blaming the left, including the people he likes to term “trolls”, for driving him to consider suicide, as if a 36 year old adult gay male who lives in Boystown in Chicago has not come to terms with his sexual orientation.
Oh, he also has received jesus christ as his personal saviour, so send money, please!
