    I have already called Sarah Palin a pith-headed bimbo from the back of beyond, in this column. I shall now go one step further. By attacking the democratically elected President of the United States of America at a sensitive time in her country’s history, she shows the tact of a boorish drunkard bawling obscenities at a funeral.

    If Sarah Palin is not some kind of a massive political joke in the USA, wheeled out to liven up the political scene from time to time with nonsensical and pastiche (one hopes) displays of sheer and utter ignorance, then it is worrying. It is even more so if anyone other than a manic depressive suffering from a chronic lack of lithium takes this…female…seriously.

    @JPL: That tree-lighting ceremony annoyed me this year. Not because of the ceremony itself, but because it was the inspiration for one of the most irritating NYT crosswords in recent memory (the most recent Sunday puzzle to be specific). I hate puzzles with rebuses, and a puzzle with a couple dozen of them, even if they were all the same, is doubly annoying. I really don’t care that the rebus squares became the lights in a Christmas tree defined by the black squares.

    @dmsilev: hahaha..I liked it except for the part that the ceremony was on Wednesday. I get the Sunday paper and distribute it to various folks when I’m done with it. My son gets the travel section, one friend gets a copy of the puzzle and another gets the book review.

    Got my account unlocked from the Thanksgiving hack, and have finally been able to check out shattered Azeroth… and I totally dig it. Made a troll druid (like just about everybody I think) and have been leveling through some of the redone areas. Definitely a fan… especially the Fizzle’s Orb quest… since I think I died like 20 times back in the day trying to kill that bastard.

    Sorry to be a downer on this thread, but so many folks were kind about my Tigger cat who was suffering from squamous cell carcinoma…I wanted to let you know that she left us this morning.

    It was a hard decision to make, but it was clear she was not having any real quality of life. I am thankful that I had a vet who was willing to come to my home so I could hold Tig in my arms in a place she felt safe. I feel peace about it now.

    It was only after I made the arrangements that I realized it was two months to the day after my senior cat, Giblet, went to kitty heaven. I bet they’re chasing squirrels together now.

Yet, conservatives and tea baggers are on a path to nominate an idiot that would make even ruling idiots abroad look smart. Says too much about the current state of US politics and where we are as a nation right now. China, India, and the Arab world are laughing their guts out right now. The only question is who will emerge as THE global power. With President Palin, certaintly not us.     So, on Pat Buchannan on Hardball tonite says that Palin deserves serious consideration as a candidate, because of what she’s accomplished, her popularity, her following, and that her two recent spot-on comments on the Wikileaks leaks and the tax cuts indicate (to Buchannan at least) that she appears to be seriously preparing herself for a run at the Presidency.

    My brain just gives up whenever I come across some TV pundits giving credibility and seriousness to the topic of her running for President. That and I get truly depressed. A discussion like that on a day when the President gives away every bargaining chip he’s ever had and gives all indication that he’s going to “compromise” big on the tax cuts for the wealthy fills me with anger and real despair.

    If others are interested in joining you should fill out an application at the website. Then just wsp guild leader DKosmama, or me (Suluca or Sulema) or Senta.

    The application helps us determine your needs (if new to the server on a baby toon – we’ll get you bags and starter stuff)

    We are happy to have non-raiders, though we do have raiding (currently rated #3 on our server for casual raiding)

    I transferred 4 of my toons and changed factions too – just to be in a political safe haven. As a 63 yr old black female, I was elated to find a guild that was free of racism, sexism, homophobia and agism.

    We have families too – so are kid friendly.

    It’s a pleasure to play while happily chatting about progressive politics in vent or guild chat.

    Hope to hear from a few of you.

    @Lawnorder – they nerfed all healers. They want it to be old-school, where you get to decide which of the 50% health folks get the heals, rather than pre-hotting the entire raid.

    Us DPSers don’t get off the hook either, because now you’ll have to CC raid trash again, rather than spamming AoE. That’ll be interesting, since a lot of raiders never had to play that way.

    But from what I’ve seen, DPSers have it a lot easier at lower levels. I’ve been tanking three instances a day since 4.0.1 let me finally roll that Tauren Paladin, and I see DPSers pulling constantly and not dying on things that used to drop em in seconds.

    As Deoliver47 said, contact an officer on the server (If you just sign on and type “/who Wreck List” and start whispering to an 80, they’ll probably redirect you).

    The webform thing is mostly a survey. Since Wreck List is one of the few guilds I’ve seen that does _ZERO_ recruiting ingame, our process is just slightly different then most. We don’t really make assumptions based on gear or level, so we have to ask some stuff out of game.

    This is Senta, John, who did the invite for your mage last night – aka Papa, Pamena and other alts. Actually, the application is required now for most people, and we do review them and make decisions on people. John’s alt Balloon was already a member, and for DKos people, we generally do an expedited admit, as well as for friends and relatives of Wreckies. We do require people to fill out an application and read the statement of principles, because we want to make sure people know what they’re getting into – not a “raiding guild” per se, a guild founded by progressives who will talk politics in guild chat and will not tolerate racist, sexist, homophobic crap in chat or elsewhere as long as you’ve got the WreckList name associated with your toon. We have I think about 250 accounts now, headed toward 600 toons given all the alts. We’re a good group, if I do say so myself, and we LOVE to help people level toons, learn crafts and accomplish goals in game, meaning everything from professions to legendary weapon achievements.
