While I like the idea of the ad, there something about a fat guy on a bike with a basket full of beer of that smacks more of a drinking problem and desperation than American gung ho free spirit “in your face OPEC!” ness.

Also, too, I pulled out the snow blower and did Chloe’s preferred pee area, so Little Miss Picky could squat in comfort. It was the last thing I did after the walks, the driveway, etc, so I was overheated. When the blower kicked up some spray and it hit my face, I was all, “Wow, this is refreshing.” Until I remembered where I was.

@stuckinred: I find tipsy people to be hilarious. Drunks are just sad and embarrassing.

Breaking news headline over at NYTIMES says:

Senate Rejects Obama Tax Plan, 53-36

Which got me thinking again about messaging. I wonder how many would see this headline and think; Taxes! Obama! Socialism!

I’m biased of course, but I think the DKOS headline is far more accurate:

Senate Republicans vote to raise taxes on middle class

I am going to send a thank you letter to the New York Daily News for their past two front page headlines:

    nydailynews.com/news/galleries/daily_news_front_page_covers/daily_news_front_page_covers.html

    Dec. 4th:

McCain tells 9/11 hero he can’t help on Zadroga bill:
    John McWeasel

    Dec. 3rd:

GOP to city jobless: DROP DEAD!

I’m pretty tired of watching the news and having everything reported as “Congress failed to pass…..” or “X bill died because of a divided Congress”. Call them out by name and party.

I like this ad. Makes me miss my old ‘hood in suburban NJ. Don’t get snow like that in the city.

Is it even possible to get drunk off of beer? It does nothing for me. I actually drink it for the taste. Which is kinda boring.

    @Elizabelle:

53-46, huh? Five Dems that want the huge largesse of the increased cut for themselves and their friends and owners, huh.

Like I’ve said for weeks, the outcome was a foregone conclusion. This vote was Kabuki theater, nothing more.

    Ironic headline from NY TImes

Senate Rejects Obama Tax Plan, 53-36

Of course, 53 senators actually voted for Tax Plan (ie extend tax cuts for those under $250k).

How oh how do I get out of Bizzaro World

These ads were made by the GREAT Errol Morris.

If you’ve never seen any of his documentary films, look him up. Great stuff.

@bob: Maybe a few more beer commercials would help. The MSM is lame. Snowbilly snooki was right.

Errol Morris made that ad (and all the other subtly liberal-themed Miller High Life ads of the 90s). A true classic.

The ad portrays a guy who was popped for DUI and lost his license. The only way to the liquor store is his kid’s bike. The cheap brew is in the basket, the rotgut vodka is in his coat pockets. Are you ready for some footbaw?
