Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Pessimism assures that nothing of any importance will change.

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

With all due respect and assumptions of good faith, please fuck off into the sun.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

Never give a known liar the benefit of the doubt.

He seems like a smart guy, but JFC, what a dick!

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

“woke” is the new caravan.

Today’s gop: why go just far enough when too far is right there?

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

You cannot shame the shameless.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Not rolling over. fuck you, make me.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

Hey Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” was supposed to be a warning, not a mission statement.

Trumpflation is an intolerable hardship for every American, and it’s Trump’s fault.

I’m more christian than these people and i’m an atheist.

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

When they say they are pro-life, they do not mean yours.

And now I have baud making fun of me. this day can’t get worse.

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

Lick the third rail, it tastes like chocolate!

Merry Christmas Everyone! We will get our white christmas tomorrow. And since I don’t have to work Monday or Tuesday, it works for me.

Did Rosie get coal in her stocking John?
We gave our Jackal a loofa dog that is bigger than he is. You should see him dragging this thing around. Took it to bed with him last night.

It hasn’t started snowing in Atlanta yet, but it seems to be a 100% possibility by late afternoon. First Christmas Day snow here since 1882 (I believe that’s the date they said on the radio, but I don’t feel like looking it up; a good long while ago, anyhow). Hope it’s a wonderful day for every Juicer, no matter your weather, beliefs, traditions, or family.

Got snow here, too. Just a bit but lovely. Snuggling in my new fuzzy jammies with my coffee, the doggies, and a beautiful chocolate pearl bracelet. Family and prime rib later. I may not believe the fairy tale of Christmas but I do love to celebrate it.

I’m jealous of those getting snow, but will muddle through with sunshine here in the desert. And once again Merry Christmas to all, and I am so relieved to read that the House Republicans will be kicking off the new congress with a full reading of the Constitution on the House Floor. Apparently, they really mean it this time. And will demonstrate their loyalty to the founders vision of “we the people” by making it easier to cut social programs, and exempting from Pay Go all tax cuts, especially the Bush one’s for rich people. We are in the hands of true Patriots and should stop worrying and learn to love our new tea party overlords.

@geg6: I will be baking a ham and my husband will be making lasagna.

We have a family tradition, because we are scattered and everybody spends christmas day in different places, we get together after the holiday and do a potluck dinner.

So Monday will be munchies and wine at my house. But, I can put off some of the prep till tomorrow so today can be veg day with my new kindle. (Yes, I have gone to the darkside)

It has only snowed twice in my lifetime here in South Texas and I am 60 plus, so I know better than to hope for a white Christmas. We did, however, get a norther in last night and it is quite cool outside. I had planned a Thanksgiving type dinner for my visiting son, but he wants to cook Thai. We aim to please, so the fancy dinner can wait for another day.

Merry Christmas y’all! No snow in San Antonio but it is a cold and blustery day. Perfect for staying warm inside with a fire and the pups and hot drinks.

Got a ham that I am going to smoke some more and will make some truffle mac and cheese to go with it. Oughta be awesome.

Made some gorgonzola wafers yesterday with just a bit of fig preserves in the middle of the wafer. A wonderful flavor combo and they were great as dessert with one of those H & D pears that are available this time of year.

Merry Christmas to the Cole House. I hope Tunch isn’t even harder to live with after his first round TKO victory last night.

It rained much of last night in Houston, but hey we are in the swamps of SE Texas. Cold front was refreshing. Walking down my street yesterday afternoon reminded me of Oct. in Ohio, The leaves are still on most of the trees and are turning to reds and orange.

The high temp may make it to 50. Its time to get the smoker ready for an upcoming feast

Snowed here in northern IL yesterday. More expected today and tomorrow. It looks lovely, but parts of it will need to be shoveled at some point.

Need to bake an apple pie this morning because I ran out of gas yesterday. Pups are outside. King is standing at the door waiting to be let in, and Gaby is playing tag with herself. Oh, to be a young dog in the snow.

Josie, here’s a link to the recipe I used for my gorgonzola wafers. The recipe said blue cheese, but I love gorgonzola and had a chunk on hand to put some in my truffle mac and cheese.

Merry Xmakwanzahanukkafestivus! It’s a wet and windy 55 degree day out today. No snow but lots of mud though too cold for mud wrestling (great for wet t-shirt contests though!).

    OT (somebody’s gotta do it!):

Seems a good number of the GOS crowd was led down the primrose path by a racist PUMA zombie who rejoined there and posted as a black and poor woman who was angry with Obama. The problem is that she is white, old and a racist PUMA. What’s even funnier is that Meteor Blades recommended her wreck-listed diary then later pulled it, stating:

For the record, I often recommend…
…diaries for discussion purposes that I don’t agree and may indeed have issues with. In this case, after doing an additional evaluation and discovering that s/he was a previous banned writer, I not only rebanned “her” but removed my ill-advised recommendation.

What I like about MB’s statement is the “For the record, I often recommend diaries for discussion purposes that I don’t agree and may indeed have issues with.”  part. Notice that MB was careful to state this without clarifying that this was the case with the diary that they recommended.

I am willing to bet that there are more than a few of these racist PUMA and ratfucking fucks pretending to be blacks who are disenchanted with Obama. From the response that this “Rainbow Girl” (aka linfar of No Quarter and Hillaryis44 infamy) got at GOS it’s clear that there are a number of people there who were primed and waiting for someone like ‘her’ to come along and lead them, quite willingly, by the nose.

I’m sure they are already looking for their next prop to beat the president with now that their zombie had it’s head lopped off.

Resume the festivities (as if you actually stopped)!

Interestingly, the bulk of the respondents, so far, seem to be from across the more southern states (and CO; but really…). Granted there’s New Yorker; Baltimore – phfff (yeah, native Washingtonian, just don’t live there no more). Is that yet another interesting datum about John Cole’s loyal minions readers ?

    From the FP

It snowed, so we actually have a white Christmas!

A sign of both age and bad attitude, every year I see this and am reminded of a Mad Magazine Christmas edition featuring Christmas wish card of various organizations; the one I always remember is their take on the KKK; to whit “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas…”

Yeah, steak & eggs for breakfast with samosas, and the rest of the family “singing” along with some Wii singalong app; I’m mercifully in another part of the house. It really doesn’t get much better. Y’all all have just a rippin’ holiday !

    Merry Christmas everyone!

I always love to read these accounts of a white Christmas. I mean, what other kind are there?
We got another big dump of snow yesterday (there are now about 3 feet on the ground) and today was bright and sunny (for the 5 and half hours that the sun was up) and the temperature did not budge from the 30 below zero mark all day. Beautiful winter weather. The kids spent all afternoon outside trying out the new sliding sleds and digging forts and tunnel complexes in the deeper snow piles.
