Yay Chuck! I was so busy last fall and during the holiday season I’ve still got almost the entire fall season on the DVR. I really do need to catch up. I anticipate a Chuck marathon in the near future.
If I say NBC and Chuck and TV and Chuck and NBC a bunch of times will the ads change?

Is anyone else watching Cape on after Chuck? It looks like a cross between Get Smart, Chuck and Middleman, which I loved. Is tonight the first ep, or did I miss that?

Although I buy wine from Trader Joe’s, I have never tried their two buck Chuck which is btw more here. I’m not sure if it’s three or four buck chuck but definitely not two.

Aaargh, I keep getting these phone calls from a +1002 phone number at all times of the day and night. I’m not a violent person but I really want to punch the asshat firm in the neck for using telemarketers in India to call me on my cell phone and peddle everything from Student loans to awarding a free gift card from Walmart.

@Dee Loralei:
The pilot aired on Jan 9th according to IMDB. I’m pretty sure I turned on the TV a week ago or so and saw a bit of it.
They want new laws allowing college and university faculty members to be able to carry concealed weapons on campus
Bills already introduced this year in Arizona in the Republican-controlled Legislature include barring landlords and homeowner groups from restricting the right to bear arms in self defense, and expanding the current law that allows gun owners to display a weapon in self defense.
I don’t know why they just don’t make it a crime to be walking around in public unarmed.

@JPL: Found a really nice Pinot Noir. Smoking Loon. Its about $11 here in PA.
Got it for the husband for christmas. Along with a bottle of St. Francis Zinfandel which we took with us out to dinner Saturday. That was a little more money but once it was allowed to breath it was terrific. :)

@demkat620: Trader Joe’s had to love the mention of their wine on Chuck. I wish I could remember the Pinot Noir that was recommended by one of their employers. I bought it a while back to have in the house for my son’s so. It was less than ten and came in a blue bottle.
Spent my day taking down Christmas decorations, trying to recover from my gmail getting hacked, and having a birthday party for Pooh with my 3-year-old. I am DONE, y’all. (Except for the part where I still have 10 items left on my to-do list for the day.)
Two buck chuck is popular in California. But since this is an open thread, I would like to have thread about college educated kids in their twenties, without work. My 29 year old son has a biology degree, his (he was an employee) start up company lost financing, he is now unemployed. My younger son is a grad of UC Berk, ME and is grossly underemployed. He graduated with a great GPA. I would love to hear from parents and college grads, what is going on. It would be a great break from the crazy. Let us talk about the twenty somethings that are educated, and unemployed or working just to be working. Just a thought.

LBJ Buys Pants
Are people this serious about pants? And who orders 6 pairs of the same pants? The words “nuts” and “bunghole” are used, for you pearl clutchers.
I’ve been drinking a lot of a good cheap Pinot noir that costs about $8 here in PA. Damned if I can remember the name, but Rex is part of the name and it has a chicken on a blue label. Unbelievably tasty for the money. If you like an inexpensive white, Chateau St. Michelle Gewurtztraminer is going for about $9 or $10.
@dlnelson:
I encountered a friend in town a few weeks ago. When I inquired about his wife and son he told me that the son had joined the Navy. I knew that he’d completed college so I asked if the son was going to be an officer. Nope; enlisted. He has two degrees. When he found himself unemployable after earning the first one he went back and picked up the second one. Still no luck. Two degrees and the man’s son had to fight to get into the Navy as an Enlisted man.
Not everyone has time to shop. If you like a particular item of clothing you just buy a stack & forget about pants for a while. I used to sell clothes. Wealthy/busy people never shopped for long. Made selections, told you how many and split. After that they’d just have someone call to have more sent to them if they liked them. Your best customers are always people you see once or twice a year. We loved that.
If you really want to torture yourself, watch the replay of the UConn-Carolina women’s game. Either the Heels really suck, or we’re going to have to play a perfect 40 minutes when we play UConn in two weeks.

@RossInDetroit: Warren Zevon loved a specific kind of shirt ( I gave away his bio after reading it so I can’t tell exactly what it was) and he would go all over trying to find them, wear them once then toss em. And that was one of his good points.

I stopped watching the show around the time Chuck’s sister married Awesome. Is Chuck and Sarah a real item yet, or are they still a pretend couple? This is more excruciating than Scully-Mulder will they won’t they.
They did, and it was epic, of course.
I almost quit watching after S2 because I couldn’t stand Chuck mooning over Agent Walker and being a big slang word for a domestic feline all the time.
My wife convinced me to give S3 a chance ind it did improve.
I still like Burn Notice better, though.

Anybody watched the Sarah Palin – Sean Hannity extravaganza? How was it? Was the word “blood libel” mentioned at all?
That would be it. I can’t believe how cheap it is and how much I like it. In fact, I have to go pick up a few bottles. We’re having my John’s roast duck (yummiest thing evah!) for the Steeler game Sunday and it will go great with that.
And damn, my local weatherman is predicting freezing rain for morning rush. Shit.
I,too, couldn’t get into Chuck for quite a while: the bumbling and missed signals made me crazy. Yeah, they’re meant as comical notes, but they seemed forced to me. Something happened last season: the comedy felt less forced, or I started liking the characters. Now I like the show. Don’t love it, but I do like it… and tonight’s season premiere kicked ass, from the Court Jester references to the twist at the end.
Oh, and having Timothy Dalton as a recurring guest star doesn’t hurt, either. I have loved that man since the first movie I saw him in: a 1971(?) remake of Wuthering Heights in which he played a very evil, sexy Heathcliff.
