Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Despite his magical powers, I don’t think Trump is thinking this through, to be honest.

Maybe you would prefer that we take Joelle’s side in ALL CAPS?

Let’s show the world that autocracy can be defeated.

Spilling the end game before they can coat it in frankl luntz-approved dogwhistles.

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

Tide comes in. Tide goes out. You can’t explain that.

Fani Willis claps back at Trump chihuahua, Jim Jordan.

If you still can’t see these things even now, maybe politics isn’t your forte and you should stop writing about it.

Ah, the different things are different argument.

It is possible to do the right thing without the promise of a cookie.

This fight is for everything.

“I never thought they’d lock HIM up,” sobbed a distraught member of the Lock Her Up Party.

Good lord, these people are nuts.

We know you aren’t a Democrat but since you seem confused let me help you.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

When you’re in more danger from the IDF than from Russian shelling, that’s really bad.

Republicans would impeach Biden if he bit into a whole Kit Kat rather than breaking the sections apart.

Let us savor the impending downfall of lawless scoundrels who richly deserve the trouble barreling their way.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Donald Trump, welcome to your everything, everywhere, all at once.

Impressively dumb. Congratulations.

Thanks to your bullshit, we are now under siege.

Some plain talk from the executive director of the National Nurses Association, RoseAnn DeMoro, on the notion that the DNC is closely involved with the protests in Madison:

This is such a DC insider insipid analysis. Of course the DNC didn’t lead this, it was a protest.

This DC insider perspective is not the shared perspective with the rest of the US who are clearly not into the two party faux bipartisan neatly constructed box. As for DC progressives, I agree with Cornel West, Obama has domesticated them. But I think that you might be surprised at the absolute contempt everyday people (outside of the beltway) have for this beltway bullsh**. The outrage is real. It is spontaneous and if the DNC disappeared, it wouldn’t matter.

I don’t agree that Obama domesticated DC progressives — they were neutered at least 20 years ago — but otherwise, more of this, please.

Strangely perceptive, these outside the Beltway people.

From everything I’ve seen and read, Walker and his henchmen in the WI legislature, sprung this out of no where, and without any committee involvement, or more than short debate before vote. It doesn’t matter where it happens, if some government, or even private entity tries to end a unions right to exist with collective bargaining rights, they are going critical mass pdq and likely head to the street.

Yeah, I saw this “It wuz all Obama!!1!” pop up after protests had been going strong for a few days. I like how the rethugs keep jumping from excuse to excuse. Can’t last forever.

We should start marches on the buildings on the Big Five(NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN & Faux Noise). Put the fear of God into those sons of a bitch.

@Spaghetti Lee: Notice that the firebaggers came out in force attacking Obama for doing nothing and even the unions for not doing enough the moment the GOP began attacking Obama for intervening. Such coordination doesn’t happen by chance.

Citing Cornel West automatically makes her unserious. She might as well quote Chomsky, as far as the beltway is concerned.

This is such a DC insider insipid analysis. Of course the DNC didn’t lead this, it was a protest.

I think this just about says it all. The idea that the DNC would be savvy or able enough to start a twenty-five thousand person 24-hour union protest of the state house is absurd.

Democrat insiders couldn’t keep TED KENNEDY’S SENATE SEAT and you’re going to tell me they organized flash mobs in the Wisconsin Senate?

    It is to laugh.

So here’s the trick. The big five live on attention. If you want to “put the fear of God” in them, giving them attention is not the solution. On the contrary, turn off the god damn TV. That is far more damaging.

Some people are still active in OFA-WI…they started mentioning & organizing the protests on their WI Blog. Every state has a Blog on the OFA website. They were doing phone banks, scheduling buses, & then abruptly stopped when the media started saying it was the DNC. They were simply OFA people who lived in WI….they did a good job!

Obama/Biden secured the Executive Branch in 2008 with their spiel. They alone know how much of that spiel was just so much hot air.

But it appears to me increasingly unlikely they fully appreciated those forces they believed they harnessed. They didn’t harness jack shit.

Its lovely to see that at least the Dems of Wisconsin can get together. Online, its disgusting to see that members of the Dem party are arguing over who should take the credit. Who the fuck cares? Its happening! Make the most of it. Dems are on fire for a while. Relish in it and work together.

    @Zifnab:

it is not a flash mob. And I don’t think online progressives should have room to criticize the DNC about organizing. The last time you all got together was to reinstate Keith Olbermann and that was just a facebook page.

I would almost believe the Madison protests were organized by the DNC if Howard Dean were still running the show. You can bet he would have capitalized on the events more quickly, for PR if nothing else, rather than standing around picking his nose and staring blankly off into space, as the current fuckers seem content to do. Dean would have been on the TeeVee machine pretty fucking quick pounding this event home.

I have a friend who prides himself on being a ‘moderate.’ It’s like if David Broder had a long lost grandson.

He was telling me after the November election that the GOP establishment would get ahold of these crazy Tea Partiers and make them settle down. Now he’s been talking about what the AFL-CIO did in Wisconsin. I snapped at him, “It was the people of Wisconsin who organized this.”

I wonder if white pundits truly realize how much black people loathe Cornel West and his perpetual grandstanding nowadays. Him and Tavis Smiley have pretty much been running the Beltway bobblehead circuit whenever they put the call out for a Rent-A-Negro to bash Obama. And I say this about my brethren in love.

And what “DC progressives” is this woman talking about anyway? Arianna “I’m only a progressive because it pays well until I can sell my site” Huffington or Jane “Blackface” Hamsher?
