Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The lights are all blinking red.

Their boy Ron is an empty plastic cup that will never know pudding.

The new republican ‘Pastor’ of the House is an odious authoritarian little creep.

Nothing says ‘pro-life’ like letting children go hungry.

And we’re all out of bubblegum.

You don’t get rid of your umbrella while it’s still raining.

In short, I come down firmly on all sides of the issue.

Republicans: The threats are dire, but my tickets are non-refundable!

In my day, never was longer.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

Trump’s legal defense is going to be a dumpster fire inside a clown car on a derailing train.

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

It’s the corruption, stupid.

The rest of the comments were smacking Boebert like she was a piñata.

“Jesus paying for the sins of everyone is an insult to those who paid for their own sins.”

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

“Cheese and Kraken paired together for the appetizer trial.”

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

Jack be nimble, jack be quick, hurry up and indict this prick.

The Supreme Court cannot be allowed to become the ultimate, unaccountable arbiter of everything.

‘Museums aren’t America’s attic for its racist shit.’

You state delegate wants to hear from you. A wee couple of calls from irate constituents could tip the balance for marriage equality in Maryland.

OT, sorry, but left over from the Open Thread:

Well, no one will see this (we need notifications, like facebook), but the risotto worked really well. I oven-roasted the sprouts, and they got nicely done, but frankly, they got lost in the wonderful richness of wine, shallots, mushroom broth and mushrooms, and parmesan. It was really great. Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Oh, and I have a good friend in Maryland who’s drumming up support for the equality bill.

these farts in the wind are so worked, i bet it fucked with the heads of godhates church to actually win. godhates church is what i call them, not westboro, because for all i know there are people who live in westboro who don’t deserve the association.

i mean how do they stir the rage by saying the supremes, even most of the scrotus, agrees with them. people agreeing with them kills their mojo.

here is my question, logistically, how do they work it so they can be anywhere and everywhere?

i mean the donations can’t be limitless enough for hotels and them to purchase food and whatever else as they go, there has to be a network of not just money, but people who know they are coming to town and give them places to stay, and feed them, like associated churches who are trying to keep their support and assistance on the down low…

i would love to see it exposed that baptist churches or whatever organizations hook them up where ever they go. they should get the same scorn.

Arora is from Montgomery County, which has plenty of liberals. Unfortunately, he also represents Leisure World as well as a couple of other more conservative enclaves.

Nonetheless, if you live over there give him a call!

As for me, my liberal delegate was swept out last November and replaced by a wingnut. Sigh.

    Well crap,

A few days ago I posted how progressive and great Maryland was and then the social conservatives crawl out (in their hoverounds) and pull this sh!t.

I don’t live in Arora’s district but I wrote him anyway. I’m close enough that supporting a campaign against him will be easy.

Is there anything else that a straight middle aged guy can do to support marriage equality in MD?
