This will be my last post at Balloon Juice. I want to thank John for inviting me to write here. It’s been quite a ride. Lately, however, I have begun to find that I am simply spread too thin. I need to spend more time reading and thinking and taking my time. Less arguing, more meditating.

In any case, I’ve learned a lot blogging here and arguing with everyone and having my ideas put to the test. I hope some of you will come continue the conversation elsewhere, either at The League or at American Times or on Twitter.

    Erik, I always enjoyed your posts and really only disagreed with you vehemently a time or two – you just didn’t know it, because I don’t post all that much, and on a lot of your threads it would have been real hard to get a word in edgewise even if I’d wanted to. I never got the irrational “E.D. Hate” thing I saw coming from commenters whose posts I otherwise enjoyed most of the time. From the context of a lot of those comments, I gathered it was because of discussions that happened elsewhere well before I really had any idea what the fuck a ‘blog’ really was.

    I might be the only libertarian who can’t stand reading Reason. and having someone with libertarian leanings that wasn’t annoying and insufferable to read was a wonderful breath of fresh air.

    I’ll keep an eye out for you at the other spots, but they’re not in my regular cycle of daily reading.

    But you will be missed.
