Crazy… how?

It’s a work in progress. They’re working on miniature baggage handlers that abuse your luggage and rifle through your wife’s lingerie.

Yesterday’s ribs.

Nemesis

Yes, its suitable for work also, too.

@eric: Not yet, but if you look closely at one of the pictures, you’ll see a crying beauty pageant contestant. (http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20110427/15195914059/tsa-molests-miss-usa-makes-her-cry-your-safety.shtml)

That might be the most awesome model I’ve ever seen, and I actively look for that kind of stuff. I can’t get over the aircraft landing and taking off – they nailed the speeds for the scale, which is not an easy thing to do.

It’s the Vegan Black Metal Chef. Watch the whole thing, as you’ll learn who really cooks the food.

I for one welcome our new liliputian overlords

I’m excited for my guy. After almost three years of a very difficult market for business/marketing consulting, with clients few and far between, he has been contacted by a former client company about a vice president position. It would probably entail him commuting to Springfield, MA during the week (he’d probably try to get some sort of cheap apartment/efficiency there), but if the money is right, that is fine. It’s been a tough slog for him through this downturn and he’s toughed it out with the few projects he’s gotten, but the idea of a steady job is sounding very good to him right about now.

I enjoyed this:
PurpleGirl
@Nemesis: As soon as she said “the Illuminati” I stopped the video. It’s just too easy to blame things on the Illuminati. (I liked her necklace — nice large piece of bling, there.)
Steeplejack
@geg6:
Fingers crossed for job success.

@The Moar You Know: Typical Teutonic thouroughness ;-)

@Steeplejack:
Thanks. Let’s hope it works out, money-wise. That’s the big question right now. He can’t move and I can’t move, so he will have to be able to afford the commute in order to take the job.
Amanda in the South Bay
Well, the judge denied my request for a fee waiver, and I cannot afford 395 dollars for the gender change court order.
I’m pretty pissed, mostly at the judge and our legal system.
Poopyman
Heh! Boehner’s got trouble with the Catholics. And for good reason.
Chris
@Poopyman:
The Church’s teachings are well to the left of the spectrum on a ton of issues – arguably most anything that isn’t abortion and gay marriage. Nice to see someone finally standing up for the rest of those beliefs.
Culture of Truth
When do we begin a national debate on whether Boehner should be denied communion?
Oh right, he’s GOP
Amir_Khalid
@Amanda in the South Bay: That’s a shame. Is there anywhere you can turn to for assistance?
Triassic Sands
@Nemesis:
Now I understand everything.
(Interesting choice of wardrobe for her appearance.)
But right now I have to go eat…I have a Pleiadian baking in the oven and I don’t want it to burn.
Amanda in the South Bay
@Amir_Khalid:
Not really, I’m just sorta fucked. I guess I can request a hearing before the judge, but the clerk who talked to me over the phone said that was just for making an installment plan, which…I certainly don’t need anymore of.
I guess…only in Santa Clara County do college students who work part time are expected to pay the full cost of filing court documents?

Late to the game, but being able to see that model in action is all by itself sufficient reason for there to be an internet.
Scale models in motion are incredibly hard — and when it doesn’t work, it’s spectacularly bad. Never got into slot cars because of it.
But those planes….

@Amanda in the South Bay:
Damn. I’m sorry, hon :(

Anybody here willing to kick a bit in for Amanda? I’m good for twenty to help her out. I know all too well how important this is.

That video very much reminds me of James May’s Toy Stories.

The miniature museum is in Hamburg, Germany, a big city in the north with few ugly American tourists or businessmen. Kind of strange to be in a major German city and there are virtually no English language harbor boat tours, city center tours, etc. Hamburg has a wonderful history as a port to the North Sea and now has a huge industrial base. The allies bombed the living shit out of it in WWII. When they dig foundations today, they have to hand dig in case they find a live bomb or bones. The city has a long history as having the best prostitutes, but I have no experience with that. (Other than being asked by lovely young east European women who were suddenly hanging on my arms if I was Scottish or English.) I have been to the museum, and it is amazing. That was before the mini airport opened. Also too, a theater version of Disney’s Lion King has been playing to large crowds there forever. Not sure what that is all about.
