I just signed that “Defund Planned Parenthood” petition, using my new email: [email protected]. Fucking liars lie.

Please don’t post a link without explaining the link. That is small and unproud behavior.
Please continue.
General Stuck
From the files of wingnut hypocrisy.
— Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), quoted by The Hill in 2003.
And now of course, he is back on the deficit hawk wagon. Why, because wingnuts like Santorum only have one issue they are for doing the opposite of what liberals want to do. Like a caged rat beating the hell out of the cocaine button.
Republicans Poised To Filibuster Liu Nomination
Up or down votes are so George Bush these days, it’s all about courageous republicans saving the realm from flesh eating zombie progressive federal judges.
Uh oh. It’s sternly worded alert time. Yadda yadda yadda, liberal big government bleedy heart gonna take yer guns away, and make you see guberment doctors for your butthurt. But per usual, when the wingnuts start beating their chests, and circling the wagons, it usually is for the same ole reason it always is.
HURT FEE FEES
What evil does this Asian person speak, why can’t we have a country were the cops can gun folks down for running away.
Racially charged?, coming from an Asian American/ Wingnuts Playing the Corleone Card for no reason.
Liu acknowledged that this language was “unnecessarily flowery.”
Teehee, done in by flowery language. And yes, you read correctly, Mr. Liu is championed by none other than Kenneth Starr. Things ain’t natural anymore. They are all weird and fucked up.

Well, I must say, it’s the spry nonagenarian that can link to the YouTubes (unless your nephew helped you, m’be). And it’s not to just some old, grainy Frank Sinatra footage, at that (not there there’d be anything wrong with the that). That’s quite a fetching tune. I shall be checking our more of this Ms. Miller lass.

Temporarily Max McGee (soon enough to be Andy K again)
There is only one Lisa Miller, and the one above ain’t her.
Forked tongue
For the record, that song was written and originally recorded by the great, great Arthur Alexander, the only artist to have either written or recorded the first version of songs that would later be covered by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Elvis Presley.
(In order: he wrote “Anna,” “You Better Move On,” and “Sweet Sally Sue Brown,” and didn’t write but did record the first version of “Burning Love.”)

@Temporarily Max McGee (soon enough to be Andy K again):
Amen to that. Sigh.

Hey, I hadn’t ever heard this song before. I quite like – thanks!
Is the album any good? What would you recommend in her discography?
Sarah Proud and Tall
Hi JC – That track is off her first covers album called Car Tape, and I would be hard pressed to come up with a track off it that I don’t love.
I have just bought Car Tape 2, and it seems almost as good.
Of her self-penned albums, I think Version Originale is the best. I also have a soft spot for her cover of “I hope I never“.

@JC:
She’s got song samples on iTunes. Or, if you don’t swing that way, on amazon. She seems to be more alt-country than this song would indicate (alt-county meaning, to me, stuff what sounds like it’s from before the dawning of the Hank Williams, Jr., era). I like the “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'”/Holly Golightly/Rhohypnol vibe of this particular cover (it’s off an album of covers called “Car Tape”).

Ah, I see you’re still awake. And it’s – what? – in Spokane about now – a quarter ’til 1985?

@Studly Pantload, now with enhanced schmuckosity:
Er, I mean, a quarter ’til 1968? (Damn dirty glasses!)

I remember what sleep was like. I miss it now I am old.

@Sarah Proud and Tall:
Well, hopefully you’re at least drunk or something to compensate for that, “Hey! Where’s the rest of the world go?!” feeling of it just being you and the night nurses who are up.

@Studly Pantload, now with enhanced schmuckosity:
I try to be drunk all the time. I makes most things better.

I love your taste in music. And thanks for the recent turn-on to Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain. You have no idea how much I’ve played that song in the last few days.
