Max and his friend Axel (right) do their usual pre-play dance. I shit you not, this can take ten minutes. Max prefers to stalk so slowly that you have to look away and back again to see that he moved. Axel will stay perfectly still and then scoot forward on his belly one foot at a time whenever Max blinks.
In other news, Max turned one day year old yesterday! We gave him a frozen marrow bone and an extra-long run in the local off-leash park (not in that order). How was your day?

The rain here has been unbelievable. Montpelier, VT got something like 5″ of rain yesterday, with sinkholes and washed out roads everywhere. I’ve never seen anything like this before.

Had a rare Friday off, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Didn’t do a damn thing. Bit of a mini-weekend, as I have to work tomorrow and then get my usual Sunday-Monday weekend.
In the early evening I bestirred myself and went to Guitar Center, where I fondled and lusted over a Cordoba Gipsy Kings guitar (someday, my precious) and bought some Sony MDR-7506 headphones.
Watching the end of the Padres-Nats game now, and then I will deploy the new headphones with something worthy, probably either Kind of Blue or Ahmad Jamal’s The Awakening. Work at 8:30 tomorrow morning, so I have to curtail the usual night-owl routine.
