Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Cancel the cowardly Times and Post and set up an equivalent monthly donation to ProPublica.

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

Dear legacy media: you are not here to influence outcomes and policies you find desirable.

… gradually, and then suddenly.

Giving in to doom is how we fail to fight for ourselves & one another.

I really should read my own blog.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

Museums are not America’s attic for its racist shit.

One way or another, he’s a liar.

Books are my comfort food!

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

I like political parties that aren’t owned by foreign adversaries.

Republicans don’t want a speaker to lead them; they want a hostage.

Shallow, uninformed, and lacking identity

With all due respect and assumptions of good faith, please fuck off into the sun.

Republicans got rid of McCarthy. Democrats chose not to save him.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

The desire to stay informed is directly at odds with the need to not be constantly enraged.

Most wanted man live has just been arrested.

Whitey Bulger, who was portrayed in the Oscar winning move, “The Departed” was captured tonight in Santa Monica.

In the past six weeks, Obama has taken out the nation’s top two most wanted men. Inspector Clouseau Bush had 8 years and could only manage to choke on pretzels. Obama has only been in office, 2 years, 5 months, and 2 days.

I’m just glad that with balloon-juice around I need never mourn the passing of Encyclopædia Dramatica.

Is it me, or does Weird Al as Gaga bear a more than passing resemblance to Ann-Margaret?

    Hilarious

South Carolina will not fund the state GOP’s first-in-the-South presidential primary in February, leaving officials scrambling to sort out who will pay for it.
    …
The Republican Party insists the primary will go on, even if the GOP must come up with as much as $1.5 million to run it.
    …
The party could go back to running the primary with paper ballots and volunteers, which is how it was done until 2008.

Sure paper ballots and volunteers in South Carolina? What could possibly go wrong…

Nellcote, Washington got rid of primaries too. If the parties want to choose the one true standard bearer, they should have to pay to do it. It’s not as if political parties are technically needed in the electoral process.

We use the jungle primary now. It will be interesting to see if the parties can get their shit together well enough to line up the generals in advantageous ways.

Yeah, after the Pakistani Ambassador embarrassed Barack by pointing out our inability to capture Bulger, we really had to do something. It just goes to show: don’t try to show up the Kenyan in Chief.

@Roger Moore: Ratko Mladic was arrested 4 weeks ago, Gingrich’s campaign imploded, Trump imploded, Wiener imploded, the Miami Heat imploded, today Palin quit her bus tour in mid term.

The last 6 weeks have been a pretty tough on despots.

It was the previous president’s policies that allowed this administration to catch the most wanted man in America.

GAK! I love Weird Al! I have since I first heard him back in the early 80’s & I have most of his albums; some are on cassette tape – antiques now :)

I was working a contract out in CA in the late 90’s, around “Bad Hair Day” and happened to bump into him. I am not one to faun over ‘stars’ but I did shake his hand & tell him I liked his work. He stopped & actually just talked for a while, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I’m glad Gaga agreed to let him do this & not surprised that he is donating the proceeds.

    @15 – 16

And don’t forget Clinton wanted to take UBL out in late ’99 but decided against it because he was afraid it would be seen as political & the Republicans would use it against Gore.
