Reading Game of Thrones with triple D on in the background, and they featured a place called Meal Ticket in the people’s Republic of Berkeley, and I was wondering if any of you have eaten there, since I know we have some residents in the readership. There was a slow roasted pork with a coconut curry sauce that I am going to make at some point.

Is it a joke that the ad above said “Guess who’s
coming fordinner” and had a bloody chef knife? I’m kind of worried.Valdivia
marriage equality is coming to ny tonight!

Whew! Now it’s Angie’s list. I was worried that was an uploaded live shot before.

Nothing useful to add, but I do enjoy Triple D. Some of those short order cooks are amazing chefs.

Was wondering, too. I live in the area and pass by Meal Ticket all the time but haven’t tried it yet. I think its open breakfast and lunch only. Usually go to Bette’s on 4th street or Mama’s in North Oakland for big brunchy stuff. Pork and coconut curry does sound good.

Triple D. I was thinking Tenacious D.
Big difference.
Rathskeller
Yes, I’ve eaten at Meal Ticket many times. Not only is it excellent food, the owner was quite gracious when I was short on money one time.

@7 Rathskeller – June 24, 2011
I have not eaten their, but Rathskeller’s review makes it sound like a good place, particularly towards the end of the month. (checks wallet) I might run up and try it out real soon.

That is all.

About a year ago, I was diagnosed with being anemic, and started taking iron supplements then. But about 2 months ago, i ran out and just completely spaced out about getting some more. And in the past month, have been feeling weak and run down, sleep messed up, and some mood swings to the depressive side. And couldn’t figure out what was causing it, until shopping at the Grocery store a couple of weeks or so ago, came across some iron supps, and it hit I had quit taking them. But never thought it was any big deal, but bought them, and it was like waking up from a bad dream, the diff of taking the iron.

If you’re looking for something to listen to on your commute or at work, try the slashfilmcast. Here’s their discussion about Game of Thrones. Smart guys talking intelligently and humorously about movies and TV.

Meal Ticket = best pancakes this side of everything.
The buckwheat pancakes are the thing to get, love ’em. The are crispy, sweet, with a bit of fruit on top (that I eat first to get out of the way).
Everything else is fine, I love the self-serve coffee.
Big fan. I may need to go there tomorrow now that you got me thinkin’ about it.

Comrade Kevin
“Triple D”, I assume is Guy Fieri’s unintentional comedy show?

Triple D? Whazzat?
The Main Gauche of Mild Reason
I used to frequent Meal Ticket a lot when I lived in Berkeley. Now that you mention it, I’m going to have to wake up tomorrow morning and drive across the bridge for pancakes.

Friend just sent me an email that Dan Balz is considering leaving the Washington Post for Reuters. (What did Reuters do to deserve that?)
Story appeared in Huffington Post; they work David Broder’s name into the third paragraph (twice!)

General Stuck @11 – so glad you figured it out. Stay on those supplements! Sister thought once her bone was built up she could stop taking, um … Fosomax? Whatever. She now has, to quote her doctor, “the worst case of osteoporosis I’ve ever seen.” Does anybody here listen to Gregory Alan Isakov? Goddam, I so love him. And Adele, of course. Midnight dancing going on here in the kitchen.

John Cole, if you’re reading Game of Thrones, I warn you – it is totally addictive. This site turned me on to the books, and I’ve since plowed through the first four and read each twice. Now I’m going through withdrawal waiting for the fifth in the series to come out in paperback. Hope you find them as engrossing as I have.

The same way you fail us each and every day, Unc–by being an unfunny, one-note dillweed with needlessly showy formatting.

There is an amazing excerpt from the next “Game of Thrones” (about Tyrion, who I adore) on Amazon’s site to pre-order book 5. I also hadn’t read the books, or even heard of them to tell the truth, but have been through all four and am addicted.
I’m in withdrawal from the HBO show. I just watched episode 10 for about the 6th time.
Yutsano
I less than three you dude. And you know me well enough to know it don’t mean nothin’ beyond that.

It is most comforting to note that President Obama and I share some conceptual similarities. I welcome the hatred of all malefactors of great stupidity (Yo Yutsano), and hope to hear from your fellow balloonbaggers on this topic at their earliest convenience.

Word, bro’. Big respect. Laughing because “Trouble Man” just came up on the shuffle.

@Uncle Clarence Thomas:
Wow. A touch, sir, a definite touch. You have pinked me to the quick. I guess I should just resign from this blog forthwith and never return.
Oh, wait, you’re just a threadbare sockpuppet with a pathetic need for negative attention. Guess I’ll stay.
Oh, and here’s a song for you. As usual, you will need to supply the pubic hair.
Yutsano
I’ll just choose to point and giggle. The end mockery works the same way. And it gets even better when you talk around it. Nothing pisses off a troll more than lack of direct acknowledgment.

@john_Cole Quit doing the exact same thing as me every Saturday nite. Gaaawd.
