Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Innocent people don’t delay justice.

President Biden is doing good where he can, and getting it done.

“What are Republicans afraid of?” Everything.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

Everyone is in a bubble, but some bubbles model reality far better than others!

Let’s show the world that autocracy can be defeated.

“And when the Committee says to “report your income,” that could mean anything!

Insiders who complain to politico: please report to the white house office of shut the fuck up.

Republicans got rid of McCarthy. Democrats chose not to save him.

Republicans: “Abortion is murder but you can take a bus to get one.” Easy peasy.

Every reporter and pundit should have to declare if they ever vacationed with a billionaire.

Too often we hand the biggest microphones to the cynics and the critics who delight in declaring failure.

When we show up, we win.

Fuck the extremist election deniers. What’s money for if not for keeping them out of office?

I was confident that someone would point it out and thought why not me.

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

“woke” is the new caravan.

Schmidt just says fuck it, opens a tea shop.

Jesus, Mary, & Joseph how is that election even close?

Come on, media. you have one job. start doing it.

Live so that if you miss a day of work people aren’t hoping you’re dead.

This country desperately needs a functioning Fourth Estate.

Battle won, war still ongoing.

Oh, darling, every day should be your birthday. Except for the getting older part, of course. I’ve got a lovely glass of Côtes du Rhône lifted in your honor. L’chaim!

I know this has been said a million times over, but man is Nancy Grace a disgusting human being. This Goblin studied Law? Apparently just believing in someone’s guilt should be enough to convict them.

Wow. I’ve heard about the Grey Gardens ladies, but that’s the first time I’ve ever seen video. That was…. something.

Ben Bradlee and Sally Quinn bought that house. I bet Sally still does that dance for dinner guests.

happy birthday Mrs Sarah! We luvs ya.

btw, if Cole hasn’t given you your present yet and you’re good with coke and men for now……could you maybe ask for a Reply button? The plaintive wailing of we unwashed hordes goes unheeded, but YOU might have some influence….

Ha! srv, my grandmom’s dad insisted she take the Stutz Bearcat when she went cross-country to San Francisco to start her young adult life in the mid-’30s.

My dad used to tell me her life was like My Man Godfrey. At the height of the depression, they were loaded.

Sadly, that fortune was pissed away by the time I came along. I’m almost as pissed off as George Sanders about it.

Sarah, here’s hoping your birthday celebration lands you in a jail cell in Brazil, on the EC special emergency session docket (to spring you), and in a ten-page photo spread of Paris Match. Simultaneously.

Yeah, I know. It wouldn’t be the first time…

    @ Hal @6
nancy grace if memory serves is a person who lost a close family member (husband?) to a violent crime.

she then became a proscutor, with a perfect record if you ignore the cases overturned for her ethics violations, big violations…

that I know, I expect she whored herself as a free “expert” for cable nets until someone picked her up for a show.
whenever I see her I see someone psychologically damaged by the death of a loved one who never got over it.

If we lived in a DC comics world she might be batgirl.

    instead she’s a harpy

Here SP&T, some other Portuguese men as backups: Pós Modernos is the one I was originally thinking of but alas, is completely outdone on the odd little Portuguese man scale by Popless.

Since I’m on a rest stop break, I thought I’d check on things.

    @hamletta:

My grandfather used to own a share of an Oklahoma oil field. His brother made him sign over all the rights before he left to fight in WWII. By the time he got home his brother had sold it all. Basta.

Whitehouse Hosting Twitter Town Hall On Wednesday

Obama finally using some technnology and bypassing the media. It’s about time we have something like that. Maybe he should fucking just skip the white house press corp and simply just have twitter stuff instead. Put those fuckers out of a job..

Absolutely correct. As a matter of fact each of the letters a in the two words should be an umlaut, which makes it a total of five umlauts.
