Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The current Supreme Court is a dangerous, rogue court.

You cannot love your country only when you win.

Michigan is a great lesson for Dems everywhere: when you have power…use it!

It is possible to do the right thing without the promise of a cookie.

GOP baffled that ‘we don’t care if you die’ is not a winning slogan.

It’s a good piece. click on over. but then come back!!

If you don’t believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love isn’t freedom, it is privilege.

Something needs to be done about our bogus SCOTUS.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

Putin must be throwing ketchup at the walls.

One of our two political parties is a cult whose leader admires Vladimir Putin.

Giving in to doom is how we fail to fight for ourselves & one another.

I’m more christian than these people and i’m an atheist.

Today in our ongoing national embarrassment…

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

There is no right way to do the wrong thing.

We will not go back.

When your entire life is steeped in white supremacy, equality feels like discrimination.

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

It’s all just conspiracy shit beamed down from the mothership.

Hell hath no fury like a farmer bankrupted.

If ‘weird’ was the finish line, they ran through the tape and kept running.

“Loving your country does not mean lying about its history.”

They are not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

    That’s gonna leave a mark.

The vet appointment for Tunch is what I’m referring to, but probably for the guy in the pic as well.

    Smart kitty.

My 80 pound, three legged boxer likes to beg for attention by coming up to me when I’m on my couch and putting his head in my lap. In so doing he always, even when I try to stop him, manages to crush my groin with his remaining front paw. He is like a ninja.

My concern this morning is for a goat which was recently jailed by Progressives under highly questionable circumstances. We know that one of the pillars of the Progressive community, millionaire Al Gore, cannot even purchase sex successfully.

And now we have a goat, behind bars. Poor thing.

OT, way, way OT, but check out this Sullivan quote from today.

It shows just how unconservative the current GOP is that it would rather risk the entire global economy than adopt the austerity measures of its British cousins. But today’s GOP is as hostile to the core institutions of government as it is to accountability and compromise. I hope they experience electoral near-death as a result. I see no way for the US to become a serious nation again until this deeply unserious party destroys itself.

‘The group of vigilante men came to report that while they were on patrol they saw some hoodlums attempting to rob a car [A Mazda 323]. They pursued them. However, one of them escaped while the other turned into a goat.’

This poor goat was last seen on its knees, behind bars, next to a pile of straw. This is worse than those 28 bunnies in someone’s backyard.

While it sucks for that leopard, I cannot for one second fault the people in that village for defending themselves. I’m assuming they didn’t have tranquilizer darts, so they made do with what they had. Such is life.

I love the leopard — not going down without a fight. Yeah!

While I support that the people must defend themselves, its just such a tragedy anymore that wild beautiful creatures like this leopard have less and less territory to range for their own survival. I hate it that mankind is hogging the planet to the degree that we are out of balance with the earth’s other creatures. It breaks my heart to know this beauty had to be killed…
