A Balloon-Juice reader asked me to play this music video that his wife made. I thought that could be a new fun thing around here, videos made by readers and their friends and families.
Also too, this is a week, politically, so I’m for more light-hearted threads.
C.J.
Totally sending you stuff when (if) I finally corral my friends into finishing that EP.
Ol' Dirty DougJ
Cool!
M. Bouffant
OK, one I did in 1984. Did not, however, keep Reagan from being elected.
Plus, America-hating from the same period.
Way ahead of the curve, baby!

This song got a score of infinity (on a scale of one to ten) from my 10 year old…I thought it was better than most of the stuff on top 40 these days…I like piano:)
jamie d
Very catchy. I clicked through to the other stuff there, and have to say that I think she’s even better in the live performances.
Jewish Steel
@M. Bouffant: Ha! I want to be in your 80s band. That’s awesome.

Why do most people with a good voice have to also be very pretty. Life just isn’t fair. One or the other would be fair. But not both.
The Dangerman
Where do I sign up for a pretty woman to bring me morning coffee…
OT: Orange Dude just stepped up to the mic; figuring this will all be about “class warfare”, “taxes kill jobs”, and “cut, cap, and balance”.
Litlebrittdifrnt
Hate to be crass or anything but it is quite obvious that Bohner was dragged out of a bar to give this press conference, he is obviously drunk. What a fucking disgrace.
cathyx
@Litlebrittdifrn: You need to go to the next post. It would be more appropriate there.
Dee Loralei
Oh I really like that song, and damn is she a pretty woman.
I’m glad you’re doing this Doug, my best friends daughter just finished recording an album at Ardent Studios today, and we’re having a wrap party for her tomorrow. So I’ll send you her songs as soon as I get my grubby paws on them, I hope they are doing videos too. And yea, I mean THAT Ardent Studios, BigStar etc.
M.Bouffant, I love your song too.
This is a cool thing Doug, I can’t wait to hear what other commentors have created.
Dan
Very good song. It was an Amazon free exclusive a little while ago. Their MP3 newsletter is worth signing up for – lots of good stuff like this from lesser known artists.
vanmet
you’ve gotta be kidding–what a lame, unmusical piece of nothing.
Peter Herb
Nice vid and nice idea. Looking forward to the posts.
middlewest
She’s OK, but I’m not sure why we need a second Sara Bareilles.
Fucen Pneumatic Fuck Wrench Tarmal
man i picked the right week to barely skim the comment sections, after reading most of the front pagers. this election season promises to be off the hook at the end of a chain.
that said, republican woman, jasiri x
pandera
Why aren’t all posts talking about how ridiculously great and painfully adorable this girl is? Is my crush showing?
tworivers
Her voice sounds alot like Feist’s
Glennsyank13
“I kiss your belly and your soldiers cover the blankets on our feet.” Those are some pretty kinky lyrics there. Not exactly the lyrics for a 10 year old to listen to. And excuse me while I puke after seeing that rat bird in the song intro.

Who was the woman on british tv that knocked it out of the park? And was not the most handsome woman? Maybe those of us less attractive (re: standard model) humans just don’t get as many chances.
Jane2
Great new feature!
nancydarling
Who is Glensyank13 and who peed in his cheerios?
cathyx
@Ruckus: I did say most people, not all people. Of course there are your ugly people, Mick Jagger, Seal, and the woman you are referring to Susan Boyle. But most are beautiful.
Anya
A gorgeous woman with a beautiful voice. Plus she looks really cheerful.

It’s probably because we see standard models every where all day long, including the mirror, but we like to see the exceptional models. It’s like cars. Very few ever get to drive a Ferrari but a lot of us still like to look at them.

So my sister is a film editor and she made a video for an ad contest from Sally Hansen, it’s actually a really fun/clever ad. (I am not just saying this because we are related, although our sense of humor may be similar.) Likes and positive comments will help her win!
The Spy Who Loved Me
She’s as cute as can be, and the song is catchy, but a little bubble gum for my taste.
The Spy Who Loved Me
The once “little girl” that babysat for my children recently recorded a CD. This is the video for the title song:

Not a classy video or anything resembling one, but here’s me playing a song I wrote a couple of years ago — “Walmart Casket Sale.”

Yes, they REALLY DO sell such things on their website.

This is my little girl. Some covers and some original. Of course I am biased, but I think her voice is very pure and sweet—plays a good guitar as well. If you think “I’ve been workin’ on the Railroad” is not a pretty song, you haven’t heard her arrangement and performance—it’s on the myspace page.

Not to be rude, but this song is terrible lowest common denominator bullshit.
If the readers wife wasn’t hot I have a feeling this never would have gotten a second look form Doug.
Eljai
It’s got a great beat and you can dance to it. I give it a 95! Plus, she is adorable. I am old and bitter and usually prefer something melancholy and mildly disturbing, but I liked the pretty lady with the sweet voice.
