Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Republican also-rans: four mules fighting over a turnip.

The unpunished coup was a training exercise.

Roe is not about choice. It is about freedom.

Anne Laurie is a fucking hero in so many ways. ~ Betty Cracker

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

Nothing worth doing is easy.

It’s always darkest before the other shoe drops.

Hey Washington Post, “Democracy Dies in Darkness” was supposed to be a warning, not a mission statement.

It’s pointless to bring up problems that can only be solved with a time machine.

Let me eat cake. The rest of you could stand to lose some weight, frankly.

If you don’t believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love isn’t freedom, it is privilege.

I am pretty sure these ‘journalists’ were not always such a bootlicking sycophants.

This has so much WTF written all over it that it is hard to comprehend.

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

Oh FFS you might as well trust a 6-year-old with a flamethrower.

We will not go quietly into the night; we will not vanish without a fight.

Their freedom requires your slavery.

Stamping your little feets and demanding that they see how important you are? Not working anymore.

Let me file that under fuck it.

The cruelty is the point; the law be damned.

One lie, alone, tears the fabric of reality.

Trump’s cabinet: like a magic 8 ball that only gives wrong answers.

Compromise? There is no middle ground between a firefighter and an arsonist.

Hell hath no fury like a farmer bankrupted.

This is all kinds of great- some construction worker in NY is singing Karaoke at the work site during his breaks:

It’s little stuff like this that helps you get through the day.

    Oh, please feel better.
I have a friend who has serious allergies. She gets shots once every so often and it helps. Don’t know if you want to go to an allergist.
You’ll have to pardon me, I am in a I want my Mommy, phase.
I’ll tell Poopyman to return the hard stuff, we’ll keep the moonshine.

Distressed and disgusted by the political environment.

And got to read “The Help” before the movie comes out later this month.

As somebody who works in medical billing and is constantly floored by the costs of goods and services charged by my hospital, I must say, I want to throttle this idiot that TBogg is highlighting. He’s the type of people that are why a disposable sponge costs $60, and Tylenol is $30. What a moron.

Tbogg/S,N! found a doozy, in which praying and interweb begging are more independentish than healthcare insurance, and gawd shazammed him a hospital and surgical team:

So when my duodenum burst, I put my trust in God, and He has blessed me and my family with His merciful care. His intervention has included sending wonderful friends and supporters of RenewAmerica to our aid. He also matched me up with a wonderful surgical staff, whose expertise (and personalized care) has been a real blessing.

    @ Maude and Gogol’s Wife:

    Interesting re “The Help.”

It didn’t hold my interest the first time I picked it up, but I put that down to me. Lots of distractions at the time.

    Will let you know.

And yes, a media time-out sounds perfect for now.

Just learned that wanker Mark Halprin is back on Morning Joe, but will just have to take their word for it …

Maybe he’ll be back tomorrow to sing “Happy Birthday You Dick” and get the rest of August off.

I wonder if Ezra and Armando aren’t correct:

Ezra Klein writes that To govern responsibly, the White House will need to negotiate like Republicans. Not only do I agree, I said so from the beginning of Obama’s Presidency.

    What Ezra said:

Just as Republicans planted a trigger for 2011 that ensures spending cuts, Democrats should use the Bush tax cuts as a trigger in 2012 to force revenue. Which is not to say they should campaign for raising taxes. They should campaign against an outdated, inefficient, unfair tax code as well as the Washington way of leaving hard problems for somebody else to handle.
