Don’t forget about the recall elections in Wisconsin tomorrow. They look tight, within anywhere from 1-3 Democratic pick-ups…they need 3 to flip the Senate. We made our goal of 20K for it already, which is great.

I hope the pulls are vastly understimating the results and there are at least several Dem flips. It would be great in these getting worse every day times to send a message that the GOP plan for un-doing America isn’t nearly as popular as Ryan, McConnel, and Boehner think it is.
Then again, even if there are several pickups, the media consensus will be that it was a fluke.

OT Any chance of an open thread? I need somewhere to vent about twats trying to burn my capital down.

The Onion has been flirting with its demise for years now…what with Gillette actually going through with the five blade razor that The Onion discussed previously as the logical successor to the three blade razor.
Not to mention the end of our “Nightmare of Peace and Prosperity”.

Are they trying to compete with the great “Headless Corpse Found in Topless Bar” headline?

So pants aren’t allowed at all? Do you have to like, take them off immediately when you enter? If you take too long, do they throw you out? So many questions.

And as for Wisconsin, it’s been on my mind for several weeks now. I think a lot of the analysis of whether Scott Walker’s acting nervous or Scott Fitzgerald seems confident is just filler, and no one’s really got a bead on what’s going on. I think the Dems are definitely going to take Kapanke’s seat, and Luther Olsen and Randy Hopper seem like the next easiest targets, although those races are about tied. Harsdorf is the farthest out in front of the GOPers. I won’t lie, I’m very nervous. I think if this is successful it could set the tone for the rest of election season, but if it doesn’t work, hoo boy. Has there been any talk about whether there’s a big campaign to recall Walker himself (4 months from now), and who’d run against him?

Satire in general has been a dying art in this country when the mainstream outpaces it in absurdity at exponential rates.

Tom Lehrer tossed in the towel when Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace prize.
It’s been building for some time now.

I don’t why, but it seems like that title should have a that in it.
As in:
“We’re coming up on that re-election day…”
Gives it more of a “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”, “We Shall Overcome” feel to it…

Oh, jeeze, my comment at #9 is in moderation.
I didn’t use “soc*ial*ist” in it, so what naughty word triggered it?

AND NOW my comment on moderation at #10 is in moderation.

Wait, there are bars that have pantless nights? Man, do I live a sheltered life.
On topic, as someone who spent 5 years living in Wisconsin, I am doubtful that we’ll win 3 seats tomorrow. But, I have my fingers crossed.

@Villago Delenda Est: “Nobel Peace Prize”. Now that Obama won it, that is considered a dirty word.

Is it Kissinger? The name itself often provokes reflex responses. I’m thinking of the Three Stooges, “Kissinger! Slowly I turn . . . step by step . . . inch by inch . . .
