Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

Compromise? There is no middle ground between a firefighter and an arsonist.

It is not hopeless, and we are not helpless.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

An almost top 10,000 blog!

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

Oh FFS you might as well trust a 6-year-old with a flamethrower.

Republicans in disarray!

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

“Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on.”

Republicans don’t lie to be believed, they lie to be repeated.

Hot air and ill-informed banter

Tick tock motherfuckers!

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. keep building.

Sometimes the world just tells you your cat is here.

Accountability, motherfuckers.

So many bastards, so little time.

They punch you in the face and then start crying because their fist hurts.

Every one of the “Roberts Six” lied to get on the court.

They are not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

How stupid are these people?

Republicans firmly believe having an abortion is a very personal, very private decision between a woman and J.D. Vance.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

New McCarthy, same old McCarthyism.

Steelers Ravens Open Thread

This should be a good one, although since JSF apparently retired from commenting, less so than normal.

*** Update ***

That was a catch by Ward, and regardless, an illegal hit by Lewis and the ball should have been on the 1. Total bullshit.

Go STEELERS! I think I’m going to switch allegiances before the playoffs this year. The Redskins are out of it already.

NBC needs to cram more insufferable douchebags into their pregame show. Peter King, Mike Florio and Tony Dungy just aren’t enough!

A bit nervous about this one for many of the obvious reasons. I also wish Woodley were in. He’s been a beast this season and will be missed on defense.

I’m 11-1 ATS this week, and I have the Steelers.

That’s good news and bad news for you, JC.

I have a proposition for you, Mr. Cole.

I will refrain from rooting for the Ravens if you agree to refrain from rooting for Real Salt Lake.

Sorry, that’s as far as I can go. Actually rooting for the Steelers is out of the question.

    Also too, J-E-T-S!

Well the Steelers aren’t trying to help JC’s stress level, it seems.

    Thank goodness for holding.

    1) Refs are on an anti-steeler rampage.

    2) Steeler O needs to reward the D by getting more long drives.

    3) Steeler O needs to figure out how to put the fucking ball in the fucking end zone.

Skol Vikings! Oh crap, that’s next Monday. In Green Bay I can only hope Ponder and the defense can keep it respectable. The fucking Packers are currently the best team in football but they are not invincible. San Diego proved you can score on them and Ponder kept it close in his first start, the question is can he do it in Lambeau?

@horatius: How long has Israel had nukes? Probably during the Six-Day war, certainly by the Yom Kippur war. How often have they used them? None.

Will Iran possess the same discipline? Maybe so. Will the United States and/or Israel let them finish the nukes without a few strikes on known facilities?

No. The best that we can hope for, I fear, is that the Saudis wait for the Israelis who will wait for the U.S.
