If it’s Evil Robot Santa, then I’ll take that bloodthirsty cadaver junkie over Supply Side Jesus any day of the week.

In early counts in Hamilton County OH
Issue 2 (repeal of SB 5, Fox News Personality John Kasich’s signature union busting bill)
No 58.3% _repeal
Yes 41.7% keep
Issue 3 (unconstitutional OH health care freedom amendment)
Yes 63.6%
No 36.4%
What’s striking is that the kinds of folks who would vote yes on 3 would normally cast the same vote on 2, so that’s heartening. Of course it’s quite early. Sigh.

Tim F.:
I’m guessing the winner of that fight would probably be Richard Dawkins.

Supply Side Jesus doesn’t have anything on robot Santa. He’s got a missile launcher and his toys explode; and he’s murdered millions of humans. Probably billions. He’s a sadistic, socipathic sophist…
Just like Supply Side Jesus.
Oh wait.
Okay, it’s still robot Santa because he’s got a missile launcher.

@a hip hop artist from Idaho (fka Bella Q):
Issue 3 is demonstrating the magic of having a misleading ballot initiative title. Why wouldn’t you vote “TO PRESERVE THE FREEDOM OF OHIOANS TO CHOOSE THEIR HEALTH CARE AND HEALTH CARE COVERAGE”? Unless you’re keeping up on all of the initiatives, that looks pretty good.

Early results in OH and ME are looking good. I put some links in the previous thread. GOS has links to AP’s results pages.

Just voted. Not much on the ballot here. A few local school board positions, a few city propositions.
I’m pulling for you Buckeyes to get out and Vote No on 2. Screw them Kochsucker assholes.

Since the title has “open thread” in it I’m going to head back to the Penn State mess with the news that 20 additional alleged victims have come forward via a phone line that was announced on Monday. Even if only half of them are legit that makes 10 additional victims.

And, with 11% of the votes counted in Ohio, the Fat Lady has shaken the rafters before the end of the overture and she’s left the opera house to knock back a few double buttered hot buttered rums.

@Mnemosyne: Yep, a la Luntz.

In AZ we’re having a recall election of Russell Pearce. State Senate president, godfather of SB 1070, and all around swine of a man.
Fingers are crossed.

Early figures for Ohio are looking good but a very small proportion of the votes are in. We’ll see.

AP has called it — Issue 2 goes down to defeat. The union-stripping bill is repealed.
Judas Escargot
Maddow just called it for a NO on Issue 2 in Ohio.
ETA: TooManyJens beat me. I don’t care… still excellent news…

Issue 2 in OH has officially gone down in flames. Kasich sad.

i am taking the faux sports robot, it does calisthenics, which some may see as overkill for a robot, but that just tells me it is ready to kick some ass.

Love that SB 5 went down in OH. Also trying not to read into the fact that with 6% in, personhood is down 56-44 in MS.

Looks like King John fell under the wheels of his own bus. Tragedy.
Great job Ohio!

AP calls issue 1 in ME. Same-day voter registration will be restored.

And, in Mississippi, it appears that personhood will NOT begin at fertilization. As of now, with 19% in, it is at 57 NO; 43% YES
Rome Again
It looks like the personhood amendment in Mississippi might go down too? Republican overreach is being answered tonight. :)

Evil Robot Santa, hands down. Since he’s evil, he is equipped with the latest in evil robot technology. The best part is that the naughty wouldn’t stand a chance, he’d nuke their asses.
Supply Side Jesus would be sliced, diced, chopped, whipped, pureed and served up with a side of evil French fries.

AP has officially called the MS personhood amendment defeated. There are signs of life in America, People. Great news
Rome Again
Russell Pearce in AZ (author of SB1070) has been defeated! ::doing a happy dance::
:)
Pamoya
Defeating the personhood amendment is very encouraging news, especially since the polling was the other way. I think it is one of those issues where fundies tell people they will vote for it, but when they are in the ballot booth they decide they want to keep using the pill.

Glad to see that the blog that bashed Arizona for SB 1070 is doing such a good job of reporting on and commenting on the defeat of that bill’s author, Russell Pearce, in a recall election today … Suck it, West Virginia! That’s the message to you from Arizona, a state that unlike you can run mines without killing its miners all the fucking time, and a state that can stand up and practice democracy as well as any state in the country.
And did I mention? Phoenix elected a Democrat mayor today (although the city election process does not permit party representation in political activities, but we defeated a toadie Republican by a comfortable margin).

In my part of the universe, a measure that will consolidate two school districts passed. No national significance really, BUT we DID have a Hatfields vs. the McCoys situation here over this (snering neighbors, stolen signs, expletive-laden discussions at the feed store: “but think of the childrun!”) Fun stuff.
