Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The snowflake in chief appeared visibly frustrated when questioned by a reporter about egg prices.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

So fucking stupid, and still doing a tremendous amount of damage.

Sadly, media malpractice has become standard practice.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

When we show up, we win.

Innocent people do not delay justice.

I desperately hope that, yet again, i am wrong.

A thin legal pretext to veneer over their personal religious and political desires.

We can show the world that autocracy can be defeated.

This must be what justice looks like, not vengeful, just peaceful exuberance.

Miss Sarah may not respond. It’s snowing in Spokane as we type and her ADD is on Snowbilly Snooki overload.

Ah, I was waiting for an appropriate thread to post this: Hot Guys and Baby Animals.

It was a tough decision, but I have to go with Billy Ray and Georgia as my favorites (EW’s photo gallery starts here).

@Yutsano: It may only delay the inevitable by a week, but how about them Cougs Yuts? That it may end up sending Denny shuffling off to the Old Coach’s Home makes it even sweeter, and the Spokane folk have a local boy to cheer for at quarterback, provided nobody breaks him in half.

@Comrade Nimrod Humperdink: This game gave the Cougs three viable QB choices. That has to be giving the two remaining defensive coordinators heartburn. Me personally I’m loving it. I had a feeling this team was a lot better than our record states. Defense needs MASSIVE work though.

Also: This was an emotional game for us. Steve Gleason raised the flag at the start. I refuse to discount the inspiration factor.

@Yutsano: Ugh, the defense, the defense… The defense cost us the UCLA game. And I’m still mystified by what I saw in Seattle against the Beavs. Seriously mystified. Of all the teams that we SHOULD have matched up well with in the whole league, THAT was the one. I dunno. College ball is whacky. I thought Stanford’s defense was gonna play better tonight too. Oh well, it looks like Mr Pickens will get his chance to buy a championship and beat Uncle Phil to it.

@Yutsano: Didn’t expect an immediate response; hope Ms. Sarah will see this eventually, and be amused. (The Spousal Unit is suppposed to be stripping this pc down & “refreshing” everything, which from past experience means I’ll lose all my bookmarks and an unpredictable number of amuse-bouche links will vanish forever.)

@Comrade Nimrod Humperdink: Tuel wasn’t ready to come back. Period. Did you see him do anything but hold a clipboard tonight? That was NOT accidental. Not sure where the Lobstah is though.

@Yutsano: It’s a shame Tuel lost a medical hardship shot. But if Halliday keeps playing like THIS, fall camp next year will be interesting to say the least, no matter who the coach is.

It is not a coincidence that the people most mired in delusion and denial prefer to be told elaborate fantasies that keep them from realizing just that.

For now Occupy Portland is still in control of their parks, despite the 12:01 deadline set by Mayor Adams and Police Chief Reese.

By my guess there were 10k people there at midnight. Two and a half city blocks of park as well as the sidewalks across the streets were packed. A few hundred bicyclists circled the area all night.

Around 2:00 or so the crowd took control of 3rd Ave and Main St, even though the crowd started thinning out. By the time I left I’d guess there were still 3-4k people there.

The police were basically just hanging out at the street corners before midnight. After that they formed a perimeter, but never did much else. There was some vain attempt to hold 3rd with a line of mounted cops, but they just turned back after a few minutes. Some jackass threw a firework at the officers, but I was too far away to see anything besides that.

It was a remarkable and peaceful event. Is, actually, since it’s ongoing. Live stream is here. Fuck CNN and fuck Fox. Goodnight.

I couldn’t go to sleep because things started going down on the livestream of Occupy Portland.

The police politely asked protestors to vacate 3rd ave and open traffic. (Well, you know, polite enough for cops. There was a threat of getting bean bagged if they hadn’t.) The occupiers did so.

Riot police then lined up across from the parks on Main St (which runs between the two occupied parks) for a few minutes. Then the police put away their clubs and broke their line as a cheer went up from the crowd.

“This is what victory looks like” was chanted, and its true. As the police themselves went back to their cars or the sidewalks, the occupiers gave them a round of applause. Yes, the occupiers cheered the police.

This is an incredibly inspiring scene. But I seriously need to get to sleep.

Victory with no casualties. Now watch every news channel talk about near-riots. Sounds like Portland did a lot better than Denver.
