Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The media handbook says “controversial” is the most negative description that can be used for a Republican.

“I never thought they’d lock HIM up,” sobbed a distraught member of the Lock Her Up Party.

He seems like a smart guy, but JFC, what a dick!

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

The willow is too close to the house.

They traffic in fear. it is their only currency. if we are fearful, they are winning.

A sufficient plurality of insane, greedy people can tank any democratic system ever devised, apparently.

If senate republicans had any shame, they’d die of it.

Accused of treason; bitches about the ratings. I am in awe.

Their boy Ron is an empty plastic cup that will never know pudding.

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

Jack be nimble, jack be quick, hurry up and indict this prick.

Fani Willis claps back at Trump chihuahua, Jim Jordan.

Everyone is in a bubble, but some bubbles model reality far better than others!

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

Following reporting rules is only for the little people, apparently.

Is it negotiation when the other party actually wants to shoot the hostage?

The new republican ‘Pastor’ of the House is an odious authoritarian little creep.

A snarling mass of vitriolic jackals

If you’re pissed about Biden’s speech, he was talking about you.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

Even though I know this is a bad idea, I’m off to do it anyway!

I did not have this on my fuck 2022 bingo card.

You don’t get rid of your umbrella while it’s still raining.

Is it just the Martian Death Rhinovirus I’m recovering from, or has this week been a veritable shitestorm of “GOP Greatest Hits (taken out on the Constitution) of the 80s / 90s“?

If the Republicans actually nominate Newt, I’ll start believing in God because my nonprayers will have been answered.

Newt is mean, ugly, and a nasty fat fuck. No one likes him.

I can’t wait to see the rotund snotty bully-faced twatsmacker up on the debate stage against smooth, long, cool Obama.

Soo, we’ve been without power for 24 hours due to the great California windstorm. Four out of 5 possible routes to the hospital from my mountain hamlet are blocked by downed trees and wires. And my wife is in labor.

    How was your day?

    http://www.joketribe.com/96/June/Newt.and.the.Giraffe.php

    for instance

    8. When you see Geoffrey, the Toys ‘R’ Us giraffe, do you ever get the urge to stick him with a spear?

    Yes: 40%
    No: 60%

Pasadena got hit really hard — most people still don’t have power and all of the schools were closed. G’s office is near Eagle Rock and they didn’t have power until lunchtime. I have no idea when the poor man is going to be home tonight.

So all you people on the East Coast who didn’t have power after your hurricane? A little sympathy, please. It’s not all crushed Mercedes and Jesus statues out here.

ETA: This is one of the few times I’m glad we live in Glendale instead of Pasadena — we only lost power for a couple of hours last night. Cats were super freaked out by the noise of the winds, though.

Why do they keep doing this shit? Every single new rendition is uglier and less functional than the last. I’m just glad I never used the front page, they basically shit all over that.
