Handsome looking dog. That must be some camera you have. It is a very nice picture.

Um yeah, so I’m watching “Street Fighter” the movie from the ’90s with Jean Claude Van Damme. Now all I need is a “Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat” video game. Who can I talk to that make that happen Nintendo, Sony or X-Box!
Man I used to love Van Damme back in the day, the man’s kick splits were a thing of beauty in his heydey.
The little guy is still drying from a very much needed bath.

BTW, That is one beautiful dog and your photos are fantastic.
I’m in the market for a new personal camera. Since you seem to be the resident photo-hog do you have a suggestion for a good digital camera for a relative novice?

How do you know it’s Christmas in NOLA? When you hear this song on the radio on the local urban stations…lol.
Oh, that face! With that grass sticking out of his mouth, he looks dignified and silly and serious all at once – a feat I have seen him pull off many times in the photos you’ve posted.
A picture of that pup makes any day better.
I find it difficult to believe he is not actually a cartoon dog — that is how adorable Max is. What an amazing example of Gould’s Micky Mouse theory of neotany, to breed such a babe from doberman pinschers!

Except for my manager, I am literally the only one at my office right now. It is way too fucking quiet. Someone set off a bomb or something. Seriously.

@Yutsano:
I would love to oblige, but I am also at work and I don’t think I can reach your office from here. Maybe a firecracker under the manager’s chair would liven things up?

“Who’s the handsomeness? Who’s the good-lookin guy? YOU ARE! YES YOU ARE!”
I so so SO love that you left his ears (and tail,IIRC) natural. That changes the entire dobie “look.”

Sometimes I get wistful at the thought that we probably will never have children. And then I do things like I did today where I accidentally locked one of the cats in the closet and went to work, leaving her in there all. day. long., and I realize it’s probably for the best.

Yes! We have a large-ish (90 lbs.) American Staffordshire (AKA American Pit Bull Terrier) and his ears are natural and it softens his look considerably – it better matches his personality. If a stranger just looks at him, Otto is as likely as not to sidle over and lean his shoulder against their knees to get some petting. (and if that works, his next move is to flop onto his back to get belly rubs.)
It’s one of the things I hate about cropping ears – it can make very sweet dogs look intimidating, which I think perpetuates stereotypes about some breeds.

The photo looks like some doggy version of “American Gothic.”

@debbie: Oh, I can’t say that about “American Gothic.” Once I heard that the woman in the picture is meant to be the man’s daughter, and noticed the out-turned prongs of the pitchfork, and then saw the curtained upstairs window completing the triangle, I always see the Gothic in that painting. YMMV.

The grass blade made me think of Tom Sawyer. Did he get you to do the doggy equivalent of whitewashing any fences that day? (Probably involves throwing and fetching something.)

That photo of Max, just stunning. He looks…dignified…or sophisticated some how.
The burnt orange eyebrows suggest he may well be from another planet altogether.

Max and Charlie are both gorgeous. Though Charlie has this forlorn “you washed away all my smells” look on his face.
