Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires republicans to act in good faith.

Petty moves from a petty man.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

The snowflake in chief appeared visibly frustrated when questioned by a reporter about egg prices.

if you can’t see it, then you are useless in the fight to stop it.

Anne Laurie is a fucking hero in so many ways. ~ Betty Cracker

One way or another, he’s a liar.

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

“Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on.”

Dear elected officials: Trump is temporary, dishonor is forever.

Innocent people do not delay justice.

Polls are now a reliable indicator of what corporate Republicans want us to think.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

My right to basic bodily autonomy is not on the table. that’s the new deal.

Usually wrong but never in doubt

You can’t attract Republican voters. You can only out organize them.

Republicans don’t lie to be believed, they lie to be repeated.

Not loving this new fraud based economy.

’Where will you hide, Roberts, the laws all being flat?’

Trump should be leading, not lying.

He really is that stupid.

Sadly, media malpractice has become standard practice.

Your weekend Max pic.

Max

The bandage on his leg is where a little dog with Joe Pesci issues bit him. Some days I wish that Max lived up to the Doberman reputation even a little bit (he mostly protects us from squirrels and the invisible spirits who drop acorns out of oak trees in the fall), but overall I prefer the crybaby love bug that we got.

Ok, on this Superbowl Sunday, can we all give thanks to have been blessed with Newt Gingrich in this cycle? He’s now declared that austerity is bad for America, that we need growth policies – no, not roads and schools and bridges, but moon bases.

He’s shifting the debate not from deficits and taxes but to what kind of spending is best to grow our economy. Romney will need to double down on austerity to create air between him and Newt (in the process almost certainly saying something totally out of touch with the electorate) and Newt will have to flail to explain why spending billions on moon bases is better for the US than elementary schools.

Has anyone checked to see if the DNC has dumped any money in Newts SuperPac yet? Because they totally should.

This is the only time Newt’s face made me smile. Very clever.

At this point I would be shocked if they hadn’t — Noot is boxing Romney in nice and tight. Couldn’t happen to a bigger asshole.

No offense to Max who I am sure is one bright puppy but the smartest dogs in the world are the Moscow Metro dogs who travel the subways to find the best places to beg for human food. Click my name for the video.

Yes, be thankful he’s a baby. I have two rescues, a pit bull/Retriever and a German shepherd/border collie. They would’ve ripped little dog to shreds. I love them to pieces but they do not mix with other dogs well. I w ish I could take them to the terrific dog parks we have in greater Seattle, but it’s just not possible. Only walkies me and our backyard for exercise. At least they understand the household pecking order and leave the cats alone…mostly.

Three and a half hours till kickoff and the princess has gone off the rails decorating for another Superbowl Party where almost no one cares about the game! The interesting thing will be to see how many are left right before Downton Abbey. They do show it twice her so who knows?

Actually, the bandage gives Max a slightly rakish air. You could just make up something about what the other guy looks like.

I would join the first in a heart beat and be very supportive of those trying to be more fit, but not what I meant.

Max is inspiring me to want a rescue Doberman for our next dog. I hope that’s a long ways away, but our Rottie and Heinz 57 are getting up there, and something just a little smaller sounds good.
